  2. I hate to break it to you, but actual players usually believe those things as a necessity to their continuation of the game. You don't see many contradicting opinions because those people, based on their opinions, have left. Also, you can't generalize all or most people who've quit as simply not having gotten far enough into the game to appreciate it.
  3. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Slayer most of your questions are answered on rswiki, please bookmark it. (or other fansites like tip.it) there are also ingame tips and tutorials
  4. Train str & atk to 40, train def to 40, then do slayer train atk & str to 70, buy whip, train def to 70. it will take you 7 days
  5. it is faster to raise att and str first since you'll inevitably want them at decent levels anyway, much more efficient
  6. RS is pretty awful. Yes, mindlessly playing any mmo or a shooter isn't really any better, but at least there's a higher level of difficulty. I know I'm someone who doesn't like difficult games much, but I sure as hell wouldn't brag about beating the elite 4. But in this community, that's what you do. The social aspect on this community is horrendous. I guess birds of a feather shouldn't concern me, but don't fool yourself. Everyone has an escape from reality, whether it's tv, books, games, or other media, but some are better than others. At least if you watch old movies you can talk to people who share the same interest about it. And how much time you spend matters too. Most of my time here was a pathetic waste of time. Maybe lots of people aren't facing reality much better than you, but that's no excuse.
  7. Overall mechanics haven't changed. More skils are afkable. Dungeoneering, released in 2010 is the only real multiplayer requirment of the game, so with such a community most hate it. Pvm is still a joke compared to other games Most people play to compete with others in skills
  8. Yes but they will not be with you the entire time and will not be able to kill the monsters for you.
  9. Technical requirements, assuming you're level 1 in all other stats, would simply be 43 prayer. The recommendations in this thread are for efficient barrows. If you're bored, try a run with lots of prayer potions and whatever spell you can use.
  10. Idk how obtaurian deals with the amount of [bleep]ing he gets from members. I personally just would make up policies using common sense, but steered away from dealing with disputes much. I feel like having evil overlords that ban people makes things easier & creates a more mature environment.

    DG Binds.

The guide tells you what to mage. I.e. not shades, not hill giants, not 154 skeles, not low level warriors, etc. You were the one who said you craft a bunch of fires at the start. And that your binds were shit. And you still refuse to use a defensive bind. (Even suiciding one is required for efficient suicide dging. There's a difference between "magic is accurate against this creature" and "magic has higher dps against this creature".

    DG Binds.

Really? Obviously no defensive bind, prom 2h over pba, crafting fires, choosing to mage when melee is more efficient.

    DG Binds.

Your current style of dging is definitely inefficient. Bosses that mage is really horrible against: Bulwark Beast Hobgoblin Geomancer Skeletal Horde Unholy Cursebearer Shadow Forger Runebound Behemoth Fleshspoiler Warped Gulega Blink! Gorger Kalger Bosses that ccs mage is better than melee: Necrolord Dreadnaut Hope Devourer Skele trio & runebound during pray against melee. Not including furn/ice.

  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWXpO-bfeYs 8:48 occ - fastest occ/non abd1 fl.
  16. Demons are weak to stab, not slash. (And magic + silver/darklight.) But overworld demons have so little defense in general that your best weapon will always be the best choice. I.e. whip, or chaotic rapier. And obviously whip on controlled is more efficient than training str with a bad weapon.
  17. Dependent on your binds or levels some bosses will be difficult. For example, you probably won't be able to kill rammernaut w/o deaths unless you waste a lot of time. (It's weak to magic, you're 52 rc) Bulwark, plane-freezer, hobgoblin geomancer, and maybe lexicus will likely also be the hardest bosses. If you get a bad boss, consider just accepting some death(s) so you can get onto the next floor already. Make sure you're doing floors to avoid these bosses, i.e. f15-17 has a ~50% chance of unholy cursebearer, and a 16% of horde/geo/bulwark.

  19. Consider barehanded butterfly catching (80+ hunt, 75+ agi) once you level up. Not the most efficient pure hunter xp, but a lot less apm. I wouldn't call it afkable, but you only have to click once every ~10-20 seconds. You also get agility xp at 1/6th - 1/5th of the hunt xp you get. It's around 110k hunt & 20k agi xp/hr at lvl 90 hunt.
  20. You'll likely need to pay gp to get decent dg xp. It's too bad we're not allowed to leech on one acc while actually doing the floor on another.
  21. Yes, but you also know a ton about pathing and iirc hold the DGS record for fastest med.. what do you think is a respectable time for someone sub 100 with a fairly decent knowledge of dungeoneering? Just meant it as "this is about the best you could possibly average" I would expect the avg dgs recruit to avg ~15 min meds and 6 min smalls 7 mins is a perfectly respectable small time, especially being 58 dg. Consider reading these guides to improve: http://forum.tip.it/topic/303761-dungeoneering-speed-floor-strategy-other-stuff/ http://forum.tip.it/topic/305397-dg-guide-puzzles/
  22. I avg solo smalls around 3-3:30, meds 8:30-9 in a team you can avg faster
  23. Jad at the end of waves 1-9, which is composed mostly of rangers, will be "Ranger Jad", and is thus weak to melee. Same goes for 11-19 (mages), etc. There was a claim that Soa is nerfed against Jad. This is untrue, its 4/7ths damage from not using the combat triangle, like with other monsters. Wave 10 - Ranger, 20 - Mage, 30 - Meleer Speculating based on spawns, 34 - Ranger, 35 - Mage, 36 - Meleers So Soa should do normal damage against wave 30 and 36.
  24. i expect so, but you will have to be careful. it's probably even possible with 1 def if you really know what you're doing.
