  1. Shields depend what you do. Most times I just meatshield for everyone in high def armor and don't need a shield. I do, however, tank at corp and sometimes at kk. For those, shield abilities are extremely useful. God war dungeon shields are easily obtainable though, and you can get by with just them. Personally, I plan on getting all the dg ones, but they are lower on my list in terms of priority (for me, ccb is top so I can range tank properly). Spirit shields are always an option as well, if you have the money for one.

Just to mention, there's also the hand cannon (75). Doesn't degrade, but it might blow up. Still, cheap enough if you're still looking for something nondegradable for range.
  3. For OP and for future reference if anyone should happen to read this: http://[Use Quick Find Code]/[Please Use QuickFind Code]?15,16,896,64956336,goto,2 Mod posts explaining obsidian. It gets an invisible def buff against them.
  4. Obsidian armor is a bit strange, that's why. It and the quest both require 80 defence. However, the developer wanted to change it around a bit and finally did it with the most recent combat update. The triple damage penalty has been removed, so it is an effective piece of hybrid armor to use anywhere (assuming you don't mind repairing it in time). To prevent it from devaluing nex sets, as obsidian is essentially free, the stats were lowered to that of lvl 60 gear. The wikia is outdated on this subject.
  5. Qft Unless there were some updates while I was out, I can tell you it is probably not abyssal demons. Used to be those and Waterfiends.
  6. It wasn't just that drygores weren't tearing through "everything", it's that I shouldn't be missing so much on abyssal demons, which are designed for players with 70 stats/weapon, while using a weapon which is 20 levels higher and the stats and gear to match it. I'll be honest, I rage quit combat after I killed a few and got my level. Went to go see how much they changed things and what else I need to add to my bank now.
  7. Anyone know if one of the melee brothers got changed to hybrid?
  8. Not sure how the +10% is distributed..... my damage (shown on the interface) is the same as before today, wearing full pernix. An invisible boost or something? In other news gf my favorite defensive setup. Barrows gloves, 6th circuit, and skillcape used to give me so much def to cover my weaknesses. Now it looks like that'll just get me slapped in the face more.
  9. It may not seem like it, but the jump from 60-65-70 armor is very large and very noticeable. When I was getting my charms for 99 summoning around Christmas, I tried using royal at Waterfiends, so I didn't have to repair Karil's. They hurt a decent bit. Brought Karil's, laughed. Had to heal/use regenerate so much less. Less healing also sped up the kill speed.
  10. I'm working then, but I'll pass the time on to my girlfriend. She loves going to Arma. Best of luck to those who go.
  11. Just FYI, Drygore destroys mith dragons as well. Someone was getting 183 kph on a blog here in void with them, so slayer should theoretically be even more, lol. I took abs to them a few months ago to help my girlfriend tailbone hunting. Could barely kill 3 or 4 of them using ss+anguish without almost dying. I was wearing Gano, so it shouldn't have been my armor. Whether or not it's changed since then, I don't know. Just for op and my own personal question, what about something such as grifaloos or anything else in polypore dungeon? I know it's half (or is it ~4/7 like in fight kiln?) damage otherwise, so would chaotics/Drygore be sufficient if someone didn't want to use mage?
  12. Yes, in god Wars dungeon. Kree can only be maged or ranged, with range seemingly more effective. Dagannoth kings. that's something I've never done, so I'll let someone else jump in.
  13. Armor is insignificant, just like with normal thieving. You just get hit higher to make up for it.
  14. Uhm....no. They don't. And if they do, maybe you're doing something wrong? I tank kk and corp regularly, praying protect prayers and turm. I don't have any issues with prayer drain at all. The only time I drop my prayer is when I get hit by 3-4 mage balls at kk. That is all.
  15. It's also worth mentioning for those who aren't familiar with corp that nonspear weapons still only do half damage. Everyone should really use a spear or if not, at least something more accurate (lvl 80+) to make up for it. I know it's a mass, but considering I remember how long kills still took from the November event (as long as or longer than kills with my 3-4 person team), just though I'd chime in. Looking forward to this Edit: Didn't realize it was so early for me :/ late nights and early mornings don't mix so well
  16. It is a bug and not a feature. I believe resonance doesn't work against any bosses now. Mod Emilee confirmed months ago that prayer swapping was a mechanic of the fight and as such, would protect you 100%
  17. I believe you can do a bit over 1k ash per hour. All of your cash pile? Debatable. Ss is extremely worth it though. Try to do a boss trip w/ friends for a little extra before you have nothing. It's always nice to have a little spare change. Don't bother with those last 3 levels, just use a craft pot. And I would guess green dhide is still relatively cheap. The bosses are a joke. Zene, just backhand her off the platforms and continue owning her. Nomad, I haven't done since the beginning of eoc, but I heard he's even easier now. Honestly, the only bosses I've had trouble with and actually had to eat for are the dill and some of the rfd bosses. The rest are laughable, including the monkey trio. I have not had the avatar yet along with a few others such as pest queen. If i do anything dt tonight, I'll update this with anything else. I had enough gear swaps for full out war, but since most have no weakness, I just used range, since that's my best weapon. I would note that I watched my friend do desert treasure the other day and she killed them easily with lower stats and a Bgs, lol.
  18. Range Arma, it's much better. I know from experience. And if you pick Arma, it'll probably hurt. I duoed with a maxed combat friend and still took some hefty damage. Note that all this was before the armor update but I have tried both yak trips and steelie trips. The steelie trips, he had to give me his food and any food drops... I had an invy of food to start with, as penance took care of my prayer. I would hope with overloads and torment now, I'd have better luck, but if you're asking about minimum stats, figured I'd share.
  19. Sadly, they are horrible compared to royal. Kills are actually a bit longer with them.
  20. Personally, the only times I've used momentum were for a dag task. Swapped to ancients and went to waterbirth Isle. Good almost 200 or so of them dead in probably 10 minutes.

Crits on auto attacks are useless for determining anything though. And weapon speed alters the ability critical, as I believe Saradomin Mage tested and I've also observed.
  22. Even a bunyip will be fine. I know someone who takes pouches and restores and camps for hours.
  23. Just a comment on vyres. I didn't try meleeing them and I wasn't satisfied with kill speed from the stakes. Air surge and the staff destroyed them. I particularly liked the spot where 3-4 of them are clustered, aoe and dragon breath slaughtered them. There doesn't seem to be as many monsters weak to melee as there are magic and range. 2 most common training monsters I hear are fire giants and hellhounds And if you know what you're doing, momentum sucks over abilities.
  24. That guide looks good, don't think I've seen it before. If you just want to know how much of what, how many shards, cost, trading pouches back, etc. I suggest using this. I relied on it heavily for most of my summoning levels. You need to add the price of secondaries and occasionally tell it to never make a pouch (like talon or abyssal/obsidian) but it's relatively easy to use.
