What with this weekend being double, I might end up with enough tokens. I already have scroll of cleansing/life and arcane stream, so I think I'm done w/ miscellaneous purchases for now. Spirit cape doesn't seem worth it, either because I don't use my uni or I imagine I'd use a yak more than an iron/steel titan. I'd also prefer if you said why it should be my first. Is it significantly better than my existing gear? Are there more monsters weak to that style? To answer an incoming question, I like pvm and slay/boss frequently (bossing generally in 3 man teams). I'be been holding off on solo attempts for now, but I'd like to prepare for that. I like dungeoneering, I just don't do it often enough, so it could be a few months before I get another one. This is all my current gear: Melee: Korasi, abyssal whip, enhanced excalibur, bandos godsword, sara sword, zammy spear, blessed spirit shield Magic: staff of light, polypore, ward of subjugation Ranged: black salamander, black d'hide shield (will probably end up getting the royal crossbow) Thanks in advance.

No. Please read the post. You should bring your best melee armor if you're meleeing, preferably Bandos/Verac so you can have a small prayer bonus. Wearing Gano while meleeing will only give you 35-50% of the Spears accuracy, which means you'd most likely never hit.

I feel like this is phrased wrong. Either that, or I'm just lucky. The only way I get "kicked" after 6+ hours is if I world hop or lobby/citadel. And the client doesn't close, just goes back to the login screen. So I can't say I have any experience with random closings.

My friend's wanted to go to Nex for a while, but we were too nooby to go along and he doesn't like going with randoms very much. Our stats are below (as well as mine in my sig). Between us, we've got access to pretty much all gear (not counting Nex armor, although Soul can). Soul has just about every chaotic. Brave has tokens for 1, and I'm still working on getting one but I'll have it before we go. So, if we should still improve, what would be minimum/good/ideal stats (please don't say maxed...) and gear recommendations?

I only got hit maybe 5 times w/ dragon fire on my black dragon task. I used a crystal bow until I had to swap to a black salamander. I used protect magic because they did start to damage me a fair amount (soul split couldn't heal me enough) . Oddly enough, (or perhaps a coincidence?) I only got hit when I wasn't praying. If they hit you often, just try praying and normal anti fires. They can't be impossible to kill. And as a note, I tried dual wield crossbows w/dragon bane bolts first. Kills took a fair amount longer.

You can definitely stand more than just a few spaces away. I can stand in the middle of the mature grotworms near the qbd portal and hit pretty much all of them without moving much (and then only because the pillars block an attack).

Karil's xbow is a waste. Black salamander is the same thing for less. No upkeep and extremely cheap ammo. I say you go with as high as tier as you can get, basically. Black salamander is the most accessible. Dw for range sucks unless you have dual ccb. Rune xbow can't do a lot of the enchanted bolts and it's inaccurate against high level monsters. I took dual rune xbow to black drags, w/ dbane bolts. Kills were very slow. Came back with my Sally, things went a lot faster. Crystal bow is pretty good too, it's just annoying to get the recharge cost down low enough. Although I'm not sure if the per shot cost on crystal bow or the black salamander is cheaper.

I/we should really talk to someone who has it to make sure things didn't change but Archer/Seer/Warrior (i) > Archer/Seer/Warrior = Onyx (i) > Berserker (i). IMO Korasi > Abyssal whip. Only ~3% less accurate, higher damage, yes slower speed, but also adds a 1% crit

Swifts deflect some magic based damage. All the dominion tower gloves reflect damage back for the style they're strong against.

If you're running through in the ancient robes, it will hurt. Most people wear high defense armor and then pray mage, only swapping to the ancient set to open the door. Should something happen, do NOT forget to keep your ancient key unless you want to ask people if they can get your stuff. Another strategy to safeguard that is to use an imp box to bank the key before running through. The BOB idea is good advice, I only ended up leaving 1 brew on the ground rather than most of them.

I think precision bracelet only provides defense. Saggi top will be useless as armor only gives defense, not accuracy anymore. Personalty, I gave up hunting for a csb so I can have arrows bound. I got an empowered air staff instead. Q, I thought they said there wasn't going to be dual wielding for a while? Or did you just mean to "dual wield" as in able to swap between those two?

If you're using acp, you'd need deflector and void gloves. Swifts mean you only have 2 of the 3 pieces. Can't have both w/ void. So Swifts or acp? Also, if using a void melee swap, you'd need another piece in addition to the helm in your invy.

I know the consensus is to maximize strength, but sometimes I've wondered about the loss of accuracy. I know it isn't as much of a concern against 'standard' monsters, but I don't always hit too often in my non void gear against, say K'ril , as I do against other monsters I might be killing. This is the setup I've been using (and now that I think about it, the tank is in gano so maybe I can borrow his bcp/tassets) And would it be better to bring a berserker ring or tokkul-zo? I know there's hidden multipliers/additives that go in places, so I might be wrong in thinking this. If so, can anyone better explain? I know Quyneax had posted the formula somewhere in a Void thread and I had come to the conclusion that it was lower accuracy but the tradeoff was generally worth it. And before it's brought up, yes I am working on finishing off prayer for turm, I know what I need to do for at least extremes, and I am slowly working on a chaotic. Money doesn't fall from the sky, but I'm hoping it falls from K'ril and glacors.

It would depend on what you're fighting. If it's something where you won't take much damage, then go with reverence. If against something that hits a lot, penance would probably be better but you'd have to balance healing or end up using protect prayers which makes penance useless. So, reverence would probably be best all around.

So you're saying you make ~333k/hr? I'm sure there are multiple other methods even among lower leveled players to make that much or more. And higher level players make much more than that.

Gano: 85 magic/def Polypore: 80 magic Subjugation: 75 magic/def The ward gives a 1% damage boost. I think other alternative shield slot items would be a book or blessed spirit shields. These ones do require quests, Horror from the deep and summer's end.

Fire surge, the highest spell, is what he was using. It might just not be apparent from the setup of his spellbook. You can pause as he turns it back on if you don't believe me/us :P You didn't die, which is always good.
