The small RS innovations
Like a pheromone ball, like in Half Life 2. Sounds like a good idea. I'd love for Jagex to add mock npcs in places like Lumbridge and Seers, hanging around and sitting outside of buildings. Homeless people with names like Lumberjack 1052, Flax Picker 5325. They all look the same, and when you talk to them, they talk about how angry they are that thanks to certain people, they're out of a job and the resources they'd picked are useless now. Your character mentions that they all look the same and he gets angry, calling it a time effective uniform.

Updating the Rules
After the new updates over the past couple of weeks, I believe that the rules need to be updated to be more accommodating to the changing times. Rule 4: Cheating/Bug Abuse Should go over what's considered bannable. For instance, the glitch with the players hunched over at the duel arena is hardly bannable, but in the case of the falador massacre, that's a different story. Rule 1 & 2 & 3 & 5 & 9 & 13 These rules all include player interaction, more importantly deception. So we can merge the three rules into 1: Player Interaction. This rule would encompass all matters of player interaction: -Do not use offensive language towards other players -Do not impersonate Jagex staff in order to deceive other players. -Do not encourage others to break rules -Do not ask for personal details. -Do not deceive other players for your own personal benefit. Rules 6 & 7 & 8 & 12 I believe that these rules should be merged together into one rule: Account limitations. This would encompass all three rules: 1. Accounts owned by one person cannot interact, or be logged in at the same time 2. Items/Accounts cannot be sold, or traded. Accounts cannot be loaned. 3. Account cannot be used alongside 3rd party applications to give you an unfair advantage. This includes macros, altered clients, etc. Rules 10 & 11 & 14 & 15 These rules all pertain to website related issues, so we'll merge them into one rule: Website/Forum/Customer Support Conduct These will include the following: -Abusing Customer support, as well as the forums. -Advertising in forums and in game -Blocking advertisements on the main page and on free play worlds. So here's the rules: Rule 1: Cheating/Bug Abuse Rule 2: Player Interaction Rule 3: Account Limitations Rule 4: Website/Forum/Customer Support conduct I decided to write this up because of players complaining that the number of rules that Jagex has posted up makes Runescape feel like a jail (Yes I know these complaints were...about two years ago, but better late than never, right?). This won't remove anything that isn't already impossible, but the aesthetic changes will certainly give a rise in the view towards the rules. This is what the new Runescape rules page will look like: It's pretty rudimentary, and may need some fleshing out, but I feel it accurately sizes down the rules while still giving the same message.

Does Jagex evan care?
Three cheers for the runescape mentality: FIX THIS NO MATTER WHAT COST. JAGEX YOU'RE NOT DOING ENOUGH, I'LL TAKE MY MONEY ELSEWHERE. (Post Update) WHY DID YOU HAVE TO FIX THIS NO MATTER WHAT COST? JAGEX YOU'RE TRYING TOO HARD. I'M QUITTING*. *90% of the players (estimated) that make this claim will not follow through.** **Jagex doesn't care about those who do.

UPDATE //Legit Issues with New Update and Balanced Trades//
Am I the only one who's been reading these updates and keep wondering what Jagex's infatuation with the number 3 thousand is and how it came to be this universally fair figure?

How to fix RWT without "fixing" RS
An update that's supposedly protecting free trade by taking the most sought after items and making them untradeable. Yea, that really shoots your plan in the foot. Because I'd really rather take the horrendously imprecise and unpredictable drop system, and use it to determine whether or not I make it in the game. So Player A can get his dragon platelegs in one day, while I'll sit at the dragons for 20 hours to get one, and if I lose it through death-through-lag? Well, better put aside another 20 hours, because it's converted to cash which I can't use to rebuy it. Do you really think that after more than a year of planning, making these items untradeable hasn't crossed Jagex's mind? Note the "We've exhausted every other possibility". Your idea really isn't that creative, and chances are it was brought up and thrown into the trash a long time ago at the Jagex Towers. To conclude, this idea fails, which is why it wasn't the path Jagex took.

Who's the real problem: RWTs or Jagex?
The real world traders are the problem. As for your statistics, they won't be going hungry. They have all those stolen credit cards, ya'know? The update came at 6:30am eastern, which would be about 7:30 pm in many of the goldfarming companies. So chances are they were finishing up the day of goldfarming, transferring to the account when BAM. Supervisor comes up to the group: "I don't know how to say this...but we're screwed." To which I'm sure most of them put up their fists and yelled (in Chinese) "TO AZEROTH!" I just hope they don't migrate to Tabula Rasa.

Is it possible to get banned for intercepting drop trades?
My suggestions for testing it out: If you have a noob account you don't really care about, use it. 1. Intercept drop trade, make sure to yell something along the lines of "Take that, drop traders!" 2. enjoy the fruits of your labor 3. Wait a while.... 4. Your ban status in a couple weeks should tell you whether or not to do this on you main account.

Bank Pin on GE
I'm sure this'll be put in eventually, they did add a bank pin to the coffers eventually in Miscellenia.

Total alch value
I could make a killing alching full mithril with just one nature rune. Not going to happen, alching brings too much money into the game as it is.

Tip.it Times Presents: Maybe It¢¢âš¬¢âž¢s Not About the Money?
Great article, as always Qeltar. Surprised when I saw his name at the top though. Oh and, first post!

Reporting Abuse
1. What to you qualifies as abuse or scamming? Any Rule broken 2. How often do you report abuse? Not too often. 3. Where would you draw the line for who you would report? I don't have a line. I go case by case. 4. Do you warn rulebreakers, if so for what rules? I'll warn people who are in lumbridge saying "need gf" that it's now a reportable and mutable offense, and if they continue, I'll report em. 5. Where do you must often see rulebreaking? Lumbridge f2p yews? 6. Any tips for reporting, or in your opion the best way to report. Click report abuse, type in name, choose rule number 7. Or any other topic like these. none I can think of.

why am i angry... well its so simple but so unexpected.
I'd have to go along with: 1. You were quitting, meaning it's not like he'd exactly be talking to you in the future, right? 2. Again the scare of you rejoining and saying "gimme mah stuff or I'll report you!"

What is needed to destroy RWT
When are people going to realize that Runescape is not written to accommodate for a company supported real world trading option? It's been said before that if a game isn't written specifically to allow buying gold for real cash, then the game cannot be altered in a way that keeps the economy intact, in order to allow such methods of trading.

Boycott runescape to save it please read!
Maybe Twisted's getting mad that Jagex is making it harder to buy his geepees. [/not serious accusation]

Grand Exchange Conspiracy Theory
Please, go back to hunting UFO's and trying to prove Elvis is alive. Why would Jagex do that? Do you have any proof that this could even be considered as a theory? So what if stuff's easy to sell and harder to buy. Please, take your crackpot 'theories' and take them somewhere else. Elvis is alive, and tbh needs to stop going through my refrigerator at 2 in the morning. Or at least put on some pants.

Grand Exchange BS!
no, its not there. nothings there, not even my cash Too bad you can't see who you're buying from, otherwise you could message them saying "where's my 3/4th (or whatever the percentage) of the zerker ring?"

Boycott runescape to save it please read!
OK Liston I'm going everywhere and anywhere i can to get as many people as i can to boycott runescape i I'm doing this for the good of rs i don't care if i only get one other person to join but at least I'm trying unlike you and tbh i already quit rs long ago but now this is just getting out of hand. this boycott will happen and jagex will Liston i don't care if it kills me it will happen. plus i got my friends to go around and spread the word as well. p.s learn some grammar man. or at least get a good spell check 8-) edit: to the last poster dont you think they have already Boy who would've thought that the reason you're trying and he isn't is because he's NOT trying to boycott runescape? You quit a long time ago, why didn't you just stay gone instead of posting idiotic threads on fansites (I'll reiterate that this is a...fansite. That's a website...for fans...that means they like the game) And the way I see it, until your boycott is listed on the Ethical Consumer, which it isn't and won't be, It's not a valid boycott. There's a difference between a moral boycott and a couple of 12 year olds who've never met each other sitting in Falador or in an IRC chat room repeating "YA JADEX SUXX0RZ! BOYCOT!!!! WE WILL PRESERVERE1!1ONEONE!"

3 December 2007 - Behind the Scenes - December
It is, It's called not voting. I haven't voted yet, but my reason is because I can't decide between the gravestone and diarties update (Explaining the rwt updates? Do I see another large update coming that day?)

Quick! run for the storm shelter....
If I was a hacker, I wouldn't go for the top players. I'd go for those in the middle, as they're much less likely to be tracked by Jagex. Does anyone else remember a year or so back when (the number 1 player) got his account stolen? Jagex was all over that in a heartbeat, locking the account and such. I'd go after a player that wasn't on Jagex's immediate spectrum, but still wealthy enough that it'd be worthwhile. Maybe an abandoned staker from the duel arena update.

Summoning - How Are You Preparing?
Personally, I'm going to do what I did with construction: Find out the raw materials as soon as I can, gather them en masse, then sell them to high levels who want to power level the skill and have millions of gp to throw around for what will be extremely over priced items. Selling raw materials for 10x their value because some impatient-to-the-point-of-senseless player needed to get 99 first, ftw.

OMG!!! P2p-ers!!!
18. 1. I've never thought this, but it's all the allure of "I paid money for better features than you. I roxx0rz" 2. Because you don't. Making updates costs time and money, f2p advertisements pay just enough to maintain the f2p servers and that's it. If you don't contribute, don't expect to have your opinion heard. 3. Because P2p, like f2p, is full to the brim with self important immature 12 year olds. I'll quote Encyclopedia Dramatica on this one: "Runescape acts as a security blanket for 13 year olds. If you can make millions in real life, make it in game!" 4. I have. 5. I see them (And p2p) as avatars. Nothing more, nothing less. 6. Not at all. I'd say, considering the difference in player numbers, that f2p and p2p have similarly proportional amounts of idiots in them. I was at the grand exchange the other day, and saw someone spamming "NEED GF" over and over, and this was on a p2p server.

Lock please
Yes, but you don't actually get to see the entire ride on the train. I can see this update, were it implemented, being a try it and drop it, one of those things where people try it once, say "nice concept, but too inconvenient", then stop using it creating a barren wasteland wherever the update was. Trains, if made somewhat similar to real life, would be too resource consuming to make them a useful form of transportation, as opposed to say teleportation which works fine.

Hiscores not updating, prepare for a crash?
Isn't it obvious? - Restriction on amount of wager for staking 1 vs. 1 - Domination of market's prices, loss of independence - No more exciting parties with friends at Party Pete, the bankers must notify all the noobs and invite uninvited guests Next update: Greetings brave adventurers. Due to the fact that autoing has become popular, we have decided to make restrictions on the amount of levels you may gain per day. There is a 1 level maximum per day now. This will ensure autoing to become less frequent, which will result in a better online experience. Yours truly, Jagex The sad thing is this has probably gone through Jagex's mind. Maybe someday we will see that fateful message, "We have decided to shut off all Runescape servers because we believe this is the best solution to stopping bots. You may now play your game bot free, oh wait nevermind, you can't. Have a nice life!" Someday, someday... You can't find a "Jagex went too far" thread without someone going so far into the level of stupidity that they believe Jagex will shut down the game in order to fight bots.
