Greatest Non-Number 1
No matter which band you prefer, surely you have to concede that Wonderwall is a better song than Country House?

What are you listening to right now!?

Question
I'm sure you're not afraid of blood, but i'm guessing it's more psychological than biological.

Pet Peeves?
Since reading The God Delusion, people who call their children "Christian children" or "Jewish children" when they're clearly too young to have made their mind up about stuff like that. Maybe that's more than a peeve, oh well.

Are you smarter than a fifth grader?
arghhh!!!! NEVER confuse astrology with astronomy. One is a real science which helps us to understand how the world works. The other is pseudoscience designed to part gullible people with cash for horoscopes. Ah phew, you said it :P

Your parents & Computers. Can they handle them?
My dad uses a laptop a lot for typing up notes and summaries and stuff, he's pretty good with word and can find his way around the internet. My mum's fairly hopeless though, when my sister went travelling I had to spend a good hour telling her how to turn it on, open up hotmail and send and receive emails. She'll of forgotten all of it now though. I think one of the main problems with older people and computers is that they're unwilling to experiment and persevere. They see an error message and don't dare click on next.

Bad day in chemistry class
Haha  Thanks to health and safety nowadays nothing really exciting goes on in chemistry anymore, which my astronomy teacher frequently laments about (he has at some point during his career taught chemistry, physics, maths, english and philosophy  ). I did spill some hydrochloric acid on my hand a while ago, it wasn't very strong but I felt a slight tingling, nothing to worry about though. Dealing with acids doesn't bother me, that Ethidium Bromide might though. :| But, i'm doing chemistry next year for AS level, hopefully some more exciting stuff might go on.

spell your last name backwords
Not only was this a bump of a very old topic, but in light of a recent revision to the forum rules i'm going to lock this. I appreciate it only appears to be last name but first name wouldn't be hard to find out either. Locked.

Lunar Eclipse tonight (9.30 PM GMT)
Pfft, those pics are far better than my attempts taken on a weakish digital camera. :( I was actually observing this eclipse for astronomy coursework, and luckily had a great view from the window above my desk, could see the entire thing whilst making notes and drawing diagrams. It was good, but not as red as it appeared in merc's photos, even through my binoculars. I'd have said a 2, maybe 3 on the danjon scale. I'll keep watching until it's completely moved out of the umbral region.

Should parents have a say?
Yeah. It's YOUR life, not your parents. Get off THEIR internet. Stop eating THEIR food. Stop living under THEIR roof. Stop wasting THEIR money. Their house, their rules. It's that simple. Such a tired clicḫ̩̉̉, children still have a right to a certain amount of liberty and choice.

I will not live in _______ because of _______
I went to Egypt (admittedly not Cairo) over half term and from what I saw it's a nice country if you're a tourist, but I wouldn't want to live there. I agree, although parts are more liberal.

And that's why I talked about time travel being possible for an infinitely advanced civilization, one that's only restrained by the laws of physics. Obviously we are absolutely nowhere near that kind of advancement yet.

You have to be kidding? I'd rate the food in France as generally the best i've ever eaten.

Attraction and Revulsion
To be honest I think it's a combination of every single part of the female body that appeals to me, but big eyes and cute noses definitely do something for me. That said, I hate flabby arms.

I will not live in _______ because of _______
Any middle-eastern/arabic country. I'm sorry, but I couldn't deal with bartering for everything on a daily basis. The business methods are too aggressive for me.

New Excersize Method
eleven  In that case disregard all my advice about weight-lifting. Eat healthy and don't be self-concious about your weight at that age, you're much too young to worry about that kind of thing.

Apparently, Wonderwall by Oasis only ever reached number 2 in the UK charts. (!#@%? )

What movie(s) did you last see?
Little Miss Sunshine Very good film. I really enjoyed, you immediately sympathise with certain characters and come to dislike others, but the way they change and band together is brilliant and very heartwarming. It was very funny, but in a very realistic sense. Definitely worth a watch.

Parental Control - Getting out of hand?
I'd rather we had this kind of extreme than the "don't care" attitude evident in some parents that can lead to a lot worse.

It would have to be a wormhole, nothing comes out of black holes as far as we know. Assuming we're talking about an infinitely advanced civilization, one that's only restrained by the laws of physics. You could in theory reach down into the quantum foam that (possibly) lies at the heart of all matter, enlarge it, create a wormhole in space, maintain it with "exotic material" and travel between two points, and if you think about it, this would allow you to travel back in time to when the wormhole was created. But yeah, you pretty much got it.
