I'm not sure about your method, perhaps it might work, but i'm almost certain my original answer was correct. I tried it again a different way, this time using basic trig to find the angle either side of the large angle, and since angles on a straight line add up to 180 degrees it worked out again at 109.66 degrees (slight error due to calculator rounding).

I'll be getting it just for that then :)

I've never really got into Dream Theater, but I might give this album a try.

There's two ways you could do it. The first, is simply draw the triangle and measure the angle. I got 110 degrees. Or there's the messier (but more accurate way): 1. First you need to find each side length, this is easy, just draw a box round the triange and since you know the length of each straight line (simple manipulation of co-ords) then you can use pythagoras to work out each side length of the angle. They get a bit fiddly though if you don't leave them in surd form since they don't work out exactly. 2. Now, you use the cosine rule to work out the large angle. The cosine rule is basically: a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2bc cosA Rearranging for cosA: cosA = (a^2 - b^2 - c^2)/(-2bc) Which when you plug in the values for the sides gives 109.65 degrees (to two decimal places). Here's a quick sketch I did: If anyone can see any errors, let me know, I'm pretty tired, but hopefully you get the idea.

And to the OP, have you got any more effective research sites that can save hours of googling when doing research? Wikipedia is fantastic for getting a good overview, and then I generally follow the links at the bottom. On a side note, Citizendium, started by one of the founders of Wikipedia might be a better reference for research papers. It requires 'gentle expert oversight' (i.e. more effective peer review) and people to use their real names. There aren't anywhere near as many articles because it's only just started really.

It's not perfect, but not for any of the points you mentioned. What amazes me is the amount of research people put into writing certain articles on the most obscure of things in the first place.

Yeah it's weird isn't it? People make a big fuss about the smell of smoke but then everyone loves the smell of a bonfire. It must be what's burning.

Yeah, fair enough. I think people react differently but on the whole nicotine is a more effective addictive substance than alcohol. I'm willing to hazard a guess that alcoholism is more commonly the result of a psychological dependence on alcohol than the chemical addiction of nicotine.

It's true though that alcohol related deaths are the biggest killer out there, and all in all i'd say drinking to excess is more dangerous than smoking to excess. You've got to weigh up the pros and cons for both though, it's obviously never as black and white as either side would have you believe.

The Last King of Scotland - another fantastic film, Forrest Whitaker was superb, absolutely superb and the screenplay was very well written. Dreamgirls - entertaining enough, but I expected something better. I actually expected a 'Walk the Line' for the Supremes but it was nothing like that, shame really.

I suppose it was inevitable, and given the lack of original children's material from the likes of Disney will probably be a welcome addition to the park. At my age now though, if the rides are good enough I don't care too much what the theme is, so I'll see how they are before I pass judgement.
