The Archaeology Skill - (Surprise on Page 26!)
Outsanity replied to Outsanity's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Hey guys. I just wanted to stop by and say that I have just updated the support list. I am still busy with college work, and still don't yet have a laptop of my own to work on. But don't worry. All of your ideas are being heard and noted, and when I can finally get my computer and some free time, I will be giving this guide an overhaul of new and improved ideas, many of which have been suggested by you. I must say I am very impressed with the fact that this thread has stayed alive and it makes me very happy to know that people appreciate the work I have put into this, and that they like it so much they are willing to give their words of advice on how to improve it. Hopefully in the future this will be something Jagex will seriously consider, but the only way we can achieve this is to keep letting the support grow. ~Outsanity -

Hello, everyone. I just would like to say that I am unfortunetly not, at the current time, able to reply to comments and such, as I am in college now and currently don't have my own internet connection. I currently have a very trusted friend keeping up with this thread for me, so do not fret. All supporters are added to the list, I just cannot personally edit things or add things while I am busy. Thank your for the support, though. For there to be 50+ more supporters since the last time I check this is amazing to me, and when I return, hopefully I will have enough support to submit this to Jagex. ~Outsanity -
Solutions to keep noobs from stealing flag and ruining game?
Outsanity replied to sharpest's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Everyone has the right to play castle wars, even the low levels. So quit being arrogant. Chances are, you're probably just as low level compared to me as those guys are to you, but you don't see me whining about you taking the flag. And I think someone said it's impossible to take your own flag. That's not true at all. If you kill someone on the opposing team who was holding your flag (the flag of your own team's god) while they are outside of your castle then you have a few seconds to pick up the flag and "flag hold." This means that until you die and someone from the opposing team gets the flag, the other team won't be able to score. -
F2p doesn't get achievement capes. So that's out of the question. Dragon Slayer isn't a hard quest, really. It doesn't deserve a cape. And finally, the RUNE PLATEBODY is the Dragon Slayer Cape. Think of that. (And think of how many people wear rune platebodies. This only further proves that the quest is too ridiculously easy to give it a cape as a reward.)

I'd like you to come back with quotes on where I ever said rewards such as an Amulet of Glory would be the easiest chance of excavating to get. Next time, use your intelligence and not the spontanuety of your fingers to type out a well thought out, constructive piece of criticism, rather than bashing an idea and not giving any suggestions on improvement. And also, based on your response, I highly doubt you read the whole thing. If you had done so, you'd know that the skill is almost perfectly balanced out, and that the chances of getting higher rewards are actually very slim. This is meant to be a money making skill, but likewise, I have invested the time and research into what would be acceptable as rewards. I'd also like to point out that I am a fairly experienced player. I know the way Jagex runs this game fairly well. I have a fairly decent knowledge of what Jagex would deem acceptable as rewards. I also have, in my opinion, vast knowledge of how skills work and the exp/profit ratios from them. The point of this skill is to either make lots of profit with slow exp, or make fast exp with less profit. I feel I have done an adequette job of meeting those standards. And again, yes, you are more than titled to your opinion, but when you come onto my thread and toss my idea down without so much as one piece of suggestion on improvement, chances are your opinion isn't going to be taken into consideration. You give me respect and I give you mine. That's how this works. You need the base level of the SES. You can get all sizes of rock samples from an SES provided you have the correct level to dig there. Also, you need the regular levels to clean the samples. So while you may be able to dig up that giant rock sample at level 20, you won't be able to clean it. More info on how this works is found in the Final Notes section. And the rewards aren't overpowered. Trust me. The rune isn't a garanteed thing. Rock Samples work just the same as monster drops do. So while you may be able to get a rune item from a Giant Rock sample, chances are you will just get gp, runes or nothing at all. This is also explained more in the notes section. But thank you very much for your feedback and concern. It is much welcomed and appreciated. -

Thank you for the support, guys! And about the Coelecanth, I will not make it easier to get because I feel that 25 healing is MORE than worth the hard-to-get-to location. Plus, making the healing any better would overpower it immensely. Also, if you don't think people will fish them, you need to watch the pker market more clearly. This would be the new pking fish, and they would be in such high demand that the prices would be great. Thus, these would become the "new shark," in terms of money making for fishing. -

Yes, everything you said is indeed correct. I wanted it to be the strongest healer, but also not be easy to get. However, now that I have thought on it, I think maybe raising the healing to 25 wouldn't hurt. What do you think? Thank you also to everyone who has supported. It is all greatly appreciated! -

I don't know if I want to go through the trouble of converting the entire guide again. Plus, if I do, I'd have to post it on multiple posts due to the character limit. And this is a HUGE guide. lol. We'll see, though. I will eventually send this directly to Jagex. One of my points of interest in this idea was to add more use to areas not commonly used. Personally, I feel enough are included already, but I am planning to add another feature to this, and your suggestions for areas just may be used. Thank you. :) Yes, I believe that would add an incentive. But also, I think it would be pointless mentioning the music in the guide. For me, it's common sense that new music would be in the areas. But thank you for mentioning this. I hadn't really thought of it. :) -
F2p Mage Proposal *Read it now!* 105 supporters!!!!
Outsanity replied to Komodoman360's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I support, but you're a MORON if you honestly think F2p is not a demo. Jagex didn't make Free-to-play for people who can't afford members. They made it as an advertisment gimmick to get people wanting more of the game that isn't accessible to them without paying. Seriously. If you think otherwise, then you obviously know nothing about the business world. -

Thank you for your support! I will add you to the list. Also, to everyone putting support images into their signatures, I have a made a new one with a full bar image, so it'll look cleaner in your signature. I may also work on different sized images if people request them. Continue supporting! -

See, with the respawn thing, it's either what I have, which is 50 (Quite a LOT of respawns in one spot, if you ask me) fissures with 30 second respawn times, or maybe 10, slightly faster (about 5-10 second) respawns, which would be more spread out. So...I personally don't think I'd have a problem alternating between 2-3 fissures which would literally be like 2 squares from eachother. But if more people comment on this, I will change it. Thank you so much for your criticism, though. Anything and everything to improve this idea is much appreciated. Unfortunetly, you're probably right. But personally, I feel these rewards are within Jagex's range, and wouldn't overpower or unbalance any aspects of the game. And anyway, I personally think it's time to put another money maker in the game, and not something like Hunter and Red Chinchompas, which is only a slight money maker. Thank you for your support! -

Here you have contradicted yourself. It's not contradiction, you're just reading it inccorectly. It says it can only be obtained 2 ways. The "or can be bought from another player" is the continuation of the section "can only be..." It's fine the way it is. I'd also appreciate if you'd comment about the idea, and not about nitpicky, unimportant grammar mistakes. Mine is fine, thank you, and I have had 2 people proofread this several times over to make sure any mistakes were rectified. This thread is meant for discussion on the idea, so please next time contribute to it by adding your construction criticism and comments. Thank you. Yeah. I would put that, but I do intend to send this to Jagex along with the permission to use any part of it they wish. My goal of putting it on Tip It is really more to make sure it's an idea a variety of players would enjoy. Once I know it is (Which, so far it does seem so) I will send it to Jagex. Thank you for your support though. Posts like yours are very welcomed. -
This is a seriously terrible idea. It's not even needed. Really. There's no reason for it.

I really don't like the 10k free exp idea. No one would have to start off at level 1. They'd be boosted up to what, like level 25? So no. No free exp. And I don't really like the brush/trowel idea. I think they're fine the way they are. And by NO means are the smithing requirements too high. There are plenty people with those levels and the point of having the smithing/crafting levels is to give smithers/crafters an opportunity to make some money off of making and selling brushes/trowels. It was part of my idea that this skill helped MANY types of players, not just those who strictly did Archaeology itself. Thanks for the support though, and your constructive criticism is more than welcomed and wanted. :) -

Thank you very much for your support and constructive criticism guys. This is the kind of stuff I want for feedback, so thanks for that! And that is some VERY interesting information, Triquos. If you're right, we have the Archaeology skill just right around the corner! But to be safe, I'll just wait for it to happen before I get overly hyped up about it. =-p All three of the above posters are added to the list. Thanks for your support, guys. :) -

Did you even read the entire thread? My money is on NO, you did not. If you had, you would know my idea is nothing like just "brushing off rocks." So next time you want to say something, lets make sure you do your research beforehand. As for those boring mining and woodcutting skills, I'd like to bring forth the fact that a VAST majority of Runescape is clicking and doing monotonous actions. If you don't like them that much, why even play this game? And also, posts like yours are not wanted here. You don't have to agree with the idea. That's fine. But if you don't like it, at least give some constructive criticism on how it could be improved. Oh, and by the way, it could happen, and should it ever, I am going to come back and laugh right in your face. O:) -

Well, the trim is brown. I know it appears to be red in the icon, but...erm...it's brown. :XD: And I think since the skill is a money maker, it should involve some royal gold colour, and since we already have brown capes with gold trim, I thought I'd do a gold cape with brown trim. Plus, no other cape is a gold colour, and we need more variety. That, and for some reason, when I think of Archaeology I think of the desert, and when I think of the desert, I think of golds and browns. That's just me, though. =-p -
Support Musical Instruments in Runescape! (With Pictures)
Outsanity replied to SachikoNami's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Are you actually going to expand on this? Whoopie. We can hold instruments. What else? What would this skill offer? Why would I want to train it? How would it benefit already existing skills? In my opinion, a Musical Skill would be complete trash. And this is coming from a person who took a HIGHLY rejected skill idea (Archaeology) and actually made it favorable by players. You could possibly take this skill idea somewhere...with a lot of work. But really, I just can't see much that could be done with this. But good job for at least putting some effort into it. -
Well... It won't make a bad impact, so why not? Don't try to fix what isn't broken...that's why not. I do not support. Useless, and personally, treasure trails are fine as they are. Besides...no one wears the adamant armor as it is...so why introduce mithril, which is worth less and would basically be uglier than the adamant?
-
I'm going to do some shameless plugging and tell you to click on my Archaeology Idea Thread, which is linked in my signature. It so far is getting a lot of positive feedback. And yes...we are in due time for a new skill, I think.

Construction is not "con," actually, that's just what most people say to abbreviate it. When I have been talking about it to friends I've been saying "Arch," so yeah...I'd imagine that would be what people would call it. And we don't need to go as far as a skill cape animation. It's not really needed and the idea is fine without it. Plus...stick figures wouldn't be appealing enough to put in the guide. =-p That is an excellent idea! I will make a code that people can put into their signatures if they support the idea. That should advertise it better, as well. :) -

Outsanity replied to Outsanity's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
That's exactly why I did this. I was always for the skill, but a LOT of people bashed the idea down because they were too narrow-minded to think past the actual word Archaeology. Yes, at first glance it, just based on the name, most would think it would be boring. But then again...look at the names of other skills we have. Farming? Hardly sounds more exciting than Archaeology, but people in the end loved what it brought to the game. Hopefully this will get enough support so I can send it to Jagex.
