  1. Not quite sure if you mean to say it's OK to give people money though they will soon forget about you, or if you're advising against it...because you kind of worded the last paragraph oddly. But, buying friendships is so stupid. I don't even give my closest RS friends free things because I know that if they are a true friend they would talk to me without the free gifts. So many people are fake in this game, and the only way to set apart the true friends from the moochers is to just simply give nothing to anyone. It's especially important to learn this lesson when you become higher leveled in combat or have on nicer armor, such as rares or say, even full dragon. People won't say "Hi," or "Hello," or "How are you doing, today?" nowadays without some alterior motive behind it. Chances are, shortly after, they'll ask for a favor, and that favor, almost always, includes cash or discounted items, or free items. It's sad, but true.
  2. Well, obviously. Blood Rune's level to craft are 77 while Soul's are level 92. Yes, it's true you can't craft them by themselves, but seeing as how those WOULD be the levels needed to make them, bloods should be more common than souls. Exp at the ZMI Altar works as such: Air Runes - 10 exp Mind Runes - 11 Exp Water Runes - 12 Exp Earth Runes - 13 Exp Fire Runes - 14 Exp Body Runes - 15 Exp Cosmic Runes - 16 Exp Chaos Runes - 17 exp Astral Runes - 17.5 Exp Nature Runes - 18 exp Law Runes - 19 Exp Death Runes - 20 Exp Blood Runes - 21 Exp Soul Runes - 22 Exp
  3. Castlewars: Easy: Get attacked 1 on 10 and get called a noob when you die after taking out 9 of them. Medium: Find someone who doesn't pray 1 on 1. Hard: Make it through an entire game without someone on the other team yelling, "ALL ON THE 126!" (And then get called a noob when the easy task repeats itself.)
  4. I think that old proverb someone once said makes for a perfect fit in this topic: Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime. In other words: Quit feeding the pigeons of Runescape. Eventually you'll feed them too much and it'll end up blowing up in your face. ^ How do you like that for a proverb?
  5. It seems to me like you're not complaining about God War's Dungeon, you're complaining about high levels, which is beyond stupid. First off, though it's multi-combat, it IS annoying when someone comes up and tries to get the kill of the monster you're killing at the moment. There are plenty of other monsters in the dungeon for them to kill. No reason to take yours. Especially when the dungeon isn't even packed with people anymore. Clans have EVERY right to hop if someone else comes. The point of a clan world for God War's Dungeon is for the CLAN to be able to kill the monster...not some random moocher who uses them to try to get a drop. Insulting is universal among levels. Your combat level doesn't determine your maturity. I don't insult people, and I sure don't think I am better than anyone as a person. Yes, I am better than a lot of people as a PLAYER, and I can say that with fact. No, I cannot say I am better than someone attitude or personality wise, unless I have met them and know first hand how they act. Even then, I don't return insults. I simply ignore them. So a 122 got killed by a boss monster. NEWS FLASH. High levels are not invincible. There's really nothing humorous about a high leveled getting killed in a dungeon which is supposed to be dangerous to ALL levels of players. Get over yourself. Seriously. I'd also like to add that people at Pest Control mostly complain about those who leave gates open and those don't contribute to killing the portals, but rather just the monsters so they can have combat exp. In other words: exp moochers.
  6. The only actual flaw here is you. Also, if you can say I waste my life on a pointless game, I can say you just wasted part of yours slinging negativity throughout forums which you KNOW aren't going to support you after you have just slandered them. Lastly, I spend my free time on this game. Currently I am enrolled at one of the best, if not THE best musical theatre schools in the country. So don't try to tell me I fail at life and I play Runescape because it's the only thing I am good at. I am liked by most everyone I meet and am constantly involved in theatre. So stop being a moron and go decide who you are based on what you do, rather than millions of people who you have never, and probably won't ever, meet in your lifetime.
  7. Obviously you haven't taken an English class before in your life. Some parts of the world have different spellings. It just so happens that most people here use the American spelling (Defense) while Jagex uses the English (Defence) spelling. While I'm not sure exactly where the "s" in the American spelling originated from, I do know that "DefenCe" is an old English term that simply means to block or negate a fencing attack. (Fencing being swordfighting, if you didn't know.) However, either is right or wrong, so stop trying to act like you know what you're talking about. On topic. I have seen some people say that the skill itself isn't useful against monsters. This is completely untrue. I fought Bloodvelds wearing Black Dragonhide Armor back when I had about 80 defense, and I would have to eat constantly...I couldn't ever get in an entire task, meleeing, without having to bank for more food. Now, at 99 defense, when I kill bloodvelds wearing that same Black Dragonhide Armor, I rarely have to eat. Yes, partly this is because I kill the bloodvelds faster, but in the same amount of hits I recieve from them, I get 0s far more than when I used to fight them way back in my days of 80 defense. I just don't understand the point of arguing against defense. People who don't train are people who don't play the game intelligently, in my opinion. If you can't see the plus in getting hit less, then you clearly aren't using your character to its fullest potential during combat. Enough said.
  8. WRONG. Defense allows you to be hit less often as you level. And you're ignorant if you ignore its use. I fought a friend in several duels one time as an experiment. We both had 99 Attack, Strength and Hp...but I had 99 Defense and he had 80. I owned him EVERY time. We had the same armor and weapons, as well. I hit him almost every time while he would hit a lot of 0s. Try it yourself.
  9. F2p is f2p...don't expect it to be anything else. With range you can also hit slightly faster, so those 13s equal up to that meleer's 20. Also, Range has been getting far more updates than magic has. Look at God Wars Dungeon and you'll have a perfect example. Range has always been a skill I have loathed, anyway, as you can tell from my level. However, it is by no means "obsolete" in the combat triangle. With the new crossbows added and such, Range matches up to even melee. Bolts hit hard, and hit often. I'm sick of people complaining about the damn combat triangle when nothing's REALLY wrong with it. MOST of the time, a meleer will be able to kill a ranger. MOST of the time, a ranger will be able to kill a mage. And MOST of the time, a mage will be able to kill a meleer. I hate how people think that the triangle is messed up just because it's not a GARANTEED thing that they will kill some random level 126 meleer by using level 94+ ancient magicks. OTHER things factor into it. Defense plays a large role. Hit points play a large role. Luck is a huge part of it. My opinion: Lets stop arguing about the combat triangle. Jagex is doing a fine job keeping it balanced, and if you really insist on thinking one of the skills is obsolete compared to the others, just don't train it.
  10. Good luck with everything you've set to accomplish, but I must say this: One of the most unattractive things you can find in a person is self-doubt and self-pity...so stop putting yourself down. It doesn't make anything better. Also, if you are "more mature than any other 14 year old we've encountered" you shouldn't have to say it outloud; we should just be able to tell. So in that sense, no you're, by far, not the most mature 14 year old I've ever encountered. I have met many, and none of them have to say it to prove it. Not trying to rag on you, but think of it as personal constructive criticism.
  11. The smartest players understand that neither Attack nor Strength can be used to their fullest without one another. Train equally and you'll have the best advantage. Take it from someone who knows.
  12. And mr. paw claw hits the nail on the head! Well said. Any achievement diary is welcome to me. :) (I'm lvl 126) Same. I'm high leveled and I find the Achievement Diaries fun with a decent reward. For the moron back a few pages that listed reasons as to why the diary is nooby: You're the only useless thing on this thread. So get off your high horse. No one is above this update. It is meant as an exploration of an area with a slight reward, not as a way to show off how much you think you own.
  13. We're not complaining about ripping people off for low leveled unids. I NEVER do that. I'm usually the one BEING ripped off. That said, I am the one making the HONEST profit from Herblore. I buy my unids at a bank for 1,000 Gp each, id them, buy the secondary ingredients and water-filled vials, make the potions, and then sell the potions. This, MOST of the time, doesn't give me any profit at all unless I'm making prayer or super restore potions. I simply used this as a way of training a skill that used to be enjoyable for me. Now that this update is about to come, and training herblore is going to be either ridiculously expensive and/or slow to train (with make x and if you have to gather your own herbs) I doubt I will be doing it anymore. And by the way...you think you deserve a better price for herbs you're too low to indentify? If we're going on the logic in which you say you believe in (fairness), then Herblorists SHOULD be able to buy unids/unclean herbs, identify them, and sell them for slightly higher, because guess what...we worked for them, and you did NOT.
  14. Merchanters weren't the issue with Herblore. Herb Merchants, unlike regular merchants, actually WORKED for their profit. You have to have 75 Herblore to be able to identify every herb and maximise the profit you make off of iding herbs. Now that iding no longer exists, any noob who hasn't worked on herblore to be able to identify herbs is going to be able to make the same amount of cash as a higher leveled herblorist. It's CRAP, and utterly annoying. Herblore was the one skill I could say I was proud of because of the fact that I could id every herb and other people couldn't. Now there's no sense in it, and all my hard work seems pointless.
  15. lol...Welcome to the average Runescape day for me. Try being level 126 and wanting to wear nice things like full dragon and prayer cape in public. "OMG!!@ SKILL CAPE, PLZ!" "OMG@#!!! A LEVEL 126!!!!@!1 CANE I HAVE 1M!?!?" And when you say no to these requests: "COME ON!!11 PlZ DO SKIL EMOTION!" "BUT U R RICH!!!1" It's more than annoying. It makes me want to smack them across the face repeatedly with a blunt object. Honestly. It brings out the anger issues in me. lol.
  16. Agreed. I think Jagex is trying to make Runescape idiot-proof, which is NEVER going to happen no matter how many things they "remedy." I love Herblore because of the fact that before now, people were MORE than willing to part with herbs they couldn't identify for 1k each because of the fact that they are lazy and would rather get quick cash THEN, rather than later by getting higher herblore. In other words: Before this update: It was win-win. You got cheaper high leveled herbs, and they made cash quicker off of unids rather than training herblore. After this update: It's a win-lose. You pay the identified price for herbs, while they make the same cash off the herbs even though they don't have the herblore level to identify them. Now there's NO point for people to train Herblore. They can just sell the "unclean" herbs now for the same amount of cash and be on their merry, noobish ways. Sorry for the rant. But I am NOT happy about this update.
  17. Your moniter might also be dark because of aging or constantly staying on. My moniter is pretty new and has a very nice brightness to it as it is, so I use the 75% brightness option and I can see everything very fine.

  19. You are missing the entire point of this thread, apparently. And it can be and IS comparable to real life, because even though you are not physically in the game, you are still a real human being with real feelings, thoughts, opinions and emotions sitting in front of the computer screen controlling that character in game. If you are being rude in game, you are being rude in real life, as well, because you are interacting with real people, whether or not they are physically next to you. That's the equivalent of saying that it's ok to call you an inappropriate name on these forums just because it's not "real life." Honestly.
  20. lol there are lots of ppl staking party hats a day they win/lose bills a day say they win a blue phat one day, if they sold it for rs gp and sold the rs gp that would be 2.4k'ish can you make 2.4k in one day irl? the people selling that amount of rs gp/rares are usually rich stakers which usually get banned but i can see where they are coming from. i mean a few of them had over 5 bil, that's over 20k cash irl. new car plx? Yes, but how did you get that first paryhat, I wonder? For the general Runescape player, who does not stake, it takes AGES to get enough cash for a Blue Partyhat. I can get anywhere from 1-3 Dark Bows a day and they sell for about 3.5m each. Lets say I get 2 a day and a Blue Partyhat is about 500m. (I haven't checked the price in a while, but lets just make this hypothetical, shall we?) Ok...so, 2 Dark Bows a day. 500M / 3.5M = About 142 Dark Bows. That's 71 Days, or 2 Months, 11 Days...to get a Blue Partyhat. 2,400 Dollars suddenly doesn't become worth it. You can say you can stake to get one, but I can say the opposite. Neither of us truly can put an specific price on one, in other words. Point of it all: Real world trading IS stupid and IS against the rules.
  21. I agree. I think anyone who takes over a spot when you were there first is completely rude, especially if they cannon. I ALWAYS get people coming to Dark Beasts and trying to kill in the same area I'm at. This would be fine if it weren't for the fact that Dark Beasts are never-endingly aggressive, and take up like 6 squares. This means the beasts will follow whoever isn't already fighting one. And because of their size oftentimes they'll get stuck behind eachother, and the ones trying to attack you won't be able to get to you. Also, if you attack a Dark Beast before it attacks you, the first attack it will shoot out will be mage, which it doesn't ever do if it attacks you first. In laymen's terms (since you really have to experience what I'm talking about first hand to truly understand it) you end up getting less exp and and kills an hour because beasts will try to attack the other player instead of you, AND you get mage damage. (Which when you prayer melee to kill them, is just plain annoying.) But yes...totally agree. People need to have common courtesy. Yes, I don't own the spot. Yes, you can technically do whatever the eff you want, because it's an online game and real life society won't know about it and shun you for being as jerk. No, it is still not ok to do. And no, it is still not polite. That's all I have to say about it.
  22. 2,400 dollars isn't really a lot, and in my opinion, not enough real cash for what it takes to even earn a Blue Partyhat nowadays. Not like I would ever sell anything for real money, but if I did, I'd make sure it would be worth my time, you know?
  23. I remember when my friend told me there was a wilderness to the north that had "levels," that I thought it was like...a minigame. And that the levels were levels such as in a game where you have to beat each level and get to the end. I found out how mistaken I was when my friend took me there and began to attack me. lol. I didn't die. He didn't want to kill me. Just teach me a valuable lesson. (Not to trust anyone.) I also did nothing but kill goblins, cut trees, and firemake for like a week because I didn't want to get lost, and I thought firemaking was the coolest thing ever. lmao.
  24. I really, really like Herblore, Runecrafting and Firemaking icons. But pretty much all the rest are complete garbage. I don't know about anyone else, but I for one am NOT liking the supposed "improved future look" of Runescape.
  25. Whips back in the day were worth more around 20m when they finally "stabalized" for a couple weeks or so, and steadily dropped down to 17m, then 15m, then 12m, etc etc. So 5m is hardly comparable to what the "real slayers" used to get from them per task. But my most profitable SLAYER task is obviously Abyssal Demons. I've gotten 15 whip drops, and sold them all from a range of 1.5-2.2m. However, I have been killing Dark Beasts as a treat to myself for all those long hours spent slaying, and so far have racked up 11 Dark Bows, all which I have sold for 3.7M each. And 4 of them I even got in a single day.
