Blue Party Hats are about 480 mill (I just checked now on the RSOF)

*I would never even think about buying RS gold, so please don't flame me*

However, out of curiosity I checked the conversion rates of GP(I have no idea what this stands for but it's RS gold) to USD(United States Dollar)

It's currently about 5 USD:1 million GP

That means a blue party hat is worth $2,400 dollars. That blows my mind. To think that a collection of pixels in the shape of a blue pointy hat is worth twenty-four hundred dollars!

Puts a new spin on it eh? To think that the Blue Party hat sitting in your bank(if you are lucky enough to have one) is probably worth more than your computer...

So to link this to Giboscam's post on virtue, if indirectly.

Would you take a rich player's blue phat if you didn't know them at all? (naturally assuming he didn't cheat to get it)Because a Blue Party Hat is more than pixels, it's like stealing actual money.

A better question might be:Would you take a rich player's computer?

Yeah, I guess it's easier than mugging an old lady because you can't really be traced, and less guilt because you don't know the person. But, it's still stealing.

We've had some threads on it, and I'm amazed every time I get reminded how much they're worth if someone bought one.

This is all hypothetical you moron.

Anyway, x-mas crackers are 700+ mil. That $3,500 USD. And to think a friend from rsc almost gave me 3 of them... Thats over 10 Grand.

lets remember how very very hard it is to get away with this... its nearly impossible

enjoi888.png

They wouldn't be worth any money if people would just realize its a game, and to spend money on getting gold in a game makes them a sad person. It doesn't amaze me that there worth that much cash, just that people would spend cash on gp at all.

I would feel sprry for someone that bought and then got banned for rl trasing :XD:

In the time you wasted picking apart his post and singling him out

you could've reported 10 autoers.

There are approximately 5 million people you should have a bone to pick with before this guy who's only statement was hypothetical

70 Defense

85 Magic =)

well 2400 usd isnt alot, I've seen much higher on other games, besides, its not just "pixels" if you worked your butt off to buy one

yeah, i realize that you have to spend real time to get Runescape stuff, and I used to the word "pixels" to emphasize that it's funny how much people will pay for stuff that is really, when you come down to it, colored dots.

Even though those dots represent possibly thousands hours of RS "work", they're still dots.

But I love my pixels anyway <3:

how would this prove anything?

that has nothing to do with your or his argument.

It's not like you said he was going to be banned for making all these hypothetical statements on a private forum.

And it's not like he claimed that was an ok thing to say that in game that wouldn't get him banned.

your request is beyond ridiculous and contributes nothing. nothing

Lol? I wouldnt waste my time reporting autoers in the small amount of time i even do play runescape, also it took me about 10 seconds at most, oh and there arent 5 million people on these forums, not even close and i was reading the post and he was the only one who posted saying he would scam someone and sell it for real life cash.gf.

EDIT: Irool if you want to continue arguing with me feel free to pm me, im not going to get in trouble again cause someone couldnt resist the urge to flame me, this goes for anyone else, thnks.

Obviously many people would and will do it if ever they have the chance arise, especially do to fact that they dont know the person.

We have had people come and go on these forums beore that have done the very same thing to thier well know and trusted "friends" for hats of lesser value in comparison to a blue.

However yes the fact that someone would pay that much money for something so small and minute that as it could be taken away at literally any moment, being the fact they will prolly be banned within the week, or that jagex could close its doors and this game at any given time they so choose.

Ya that boogles the mind.

Hmm, on one black market site people buy blue phats 2.5k$ and Santa's 75-100$

I bet it's some totally awesome 20-stringed, dragon shaped instrument that doubles as a flamethrower/laser phaser. Or some really lame Chinese bamboo thing.

I never thought of it, but that is amazing.

I can kind of understand the people that think they can get away with it and buy RS gold online, but I'm talking like $50 in RS gold. They could justify it in the terms of something like WOW costs 40-50 in the store to buy, so why not use that 40-50 you saved and buy gold on RS to get a jump start?

But 2500??? Theres no justification for that unless you are so rich you can't get rid of your money. It's just insane.

Me personally, I hate to spend money on a game. Thats part of the reason I never tried WOW when all my friends did, I thought they were stupid to waste $50 on a game in the store, let alone they had to pay 3x the membership rate as RS. I'm not cheap, I make plenty of money, I just don't think games are worth that money. RS is 5 bucks and thats about my limit.

I still don't see who in their right mind would buy a phat for 2500...
