  1. Irish_Geek is right Highlanders. At this point you've shown so much sarcasm, immaturity and narrowminded-ness that no one is going to take you seriously now. If you're not going to listen to what I have to say, listen to the others. There's now like 5 people on this thread who highly disagree with you and give good solid arguments as to why you are wrong. Listen to those people at least if you don't want to listen to me, the overlord. Which, thanks for that by the way. I might use that as name's prefix now. Has a ring, doesn't it? Overlord Outsanity. Yep. That's a keeper.
  2. Lol....so tell me, do prayer levels count? They are not my OWN strength. They are the God's strength being bestowed upon me! The experience a familiar gets GOES TO YOU. It is YOUR experience, and the damage the familiar does counts as YOUR damage. Your familiar doesn't get the drop if it deals more damage than you to a monster, does it? No. So then why would you consider a familiar to not be part of your combat? Oh, and furthermore, a familiar does not have to fight for it to be effective in battle. Healing familiars heal you, which is VERY much a part of combat, but not on the offensive. Steel and Iron Titans add 15% and 10% defense bonus to you, respectively. And furthermore, what about the familiars that eat at your opponent's food, or unequip their shields and weapons, or drain their prayer, or poison or cure you of poison? Are those not combat related skills? Just because you're not hacking away at something with your familiar does not mean you are not using it for combat. Your idea of combat is simple minded and I laugh at you because you honestly don't realize there's more to combat than offense. This skill is NOT meant to be solely an offensive skill. Yes, it can be offensive, some familiars (Like the Steel Titan) can one hit most average player. But by no means does that mean that is all Summoning is good for. So, your argument is crap and you know it. Excuse me for being blunt about it.
  3. But wouldn't that mean that unless we're constantly attacking something our level isn't representing our true strength aswell, aru? :-k Exactly. Sorry, Highlanders, but your point is invalid. It contradicts itself, because if it were true, then I'd have to be fighting a monster 100% of the time I play Runescape for my combat level to really "Represent my strength." Oh, and by the way, when I say I have a familiar 90% of the time I play, I mean 90% OF THE TIME I PLAY. When i am in combat I have a familiar with me 100% of the time. No fail. End of story. End of point.
  4. Even though it's true that from the first view it would SEEM that a Level 120 now has only put in the work of an "old" 115 or so, in actuality, they have put in more work obtaining those very hard to train and VERY expensive Summoning Levels. So next time a person tells you that you're less of a player for being higher leveled, tell them they need to grow a set and put in the extra time and MONEY to do what you did, because Summoning is now one of the most useful skills. I have a familiar with me for over 90% of the overall things I do in RS now. And don't worry, over time people will accept that 138 is like an old 126, but WAY better because they've spent way more time and money to achieve 138 than an old 126 (such as how I used to be) did to get level 126. People are ignorant, and try to belittle things they cannot achieve. It's like people who say high levels have no lives. This isn't really true, obviously, but because they don't have the drive or the ability or option to spend a little more time playing, anyone who plays even a bit longer than them automatically has no life. It all boils down to jealousy. Everyone in this game is either jealous, or arrogant. Whether we like to admit it or not, one of them lives inside the average RS player at all times.
  5. Have you actually slayed in the past week or so? I have done 73 Tasks in a Row at Duradel, and so far 10 of those have been Dust Devils. So yeah, I'd say it's worth it. I've been slaying since the quest came out, i havn't gotten one dust devil task yet. Maybe the rate has been increased but nevertheless, it's one task. You really don't even need the attack as they have really low def, so the strength is the only incentive. And the salve ammy (E) is still better at Aberrants. Lol...my god, you really don't know what you're talking about. If you ever killed dust devils you'd know that slash attacks (aka, the whip and godsword) aren't as good against them as stab, so their defense IS higher than other monsters. Before I was able to use the Helmet against them, I had to cannon to make tasks even sort of bearable at Dust Devils, because of all the 0s and low hits I dished out. Now, with the added att and str bonuses, I can happily whip away at them quickly. I guess it's your opinion, but a fool can tell the Slayer Helmet is the best possible reward from the point system. In my opinion, you're wasting your time if you spend your first 400 points on anything else.
  6. Have you actually slayed in the past week or so? I have done 73 Tasks in a Row at Duradel, and so far 10 of those have been Dust Devils. So yeah, I'd say it's worth it.
  7. First off, I want to point out and save you a little bit of embarrassment: It's a helmet, not a mask. The mask is the Black Mask. The helmet is the Slayer Helmet. There IS a difference, and I beg you to see that. lol. Secondly, yes, it's very much worth it. It combines all Slayer Headgear into one, making tasks like Dust Devils, Aberrant Spectres and Banshees asccessible with the Black Mask effect. Also, it has better stats than a Rune Full Helm. Same defense stats, but does not lower Magic and Ranged Attack like the Rune Full Helm does. So if you don't think a Rune Full helm that works like every single piece of Slayer Headgear and has the effect of a Black mask isn't worth it, then at least keep in mind the Helmet looks amazing. lol.
  8. Just because the monster is higher slayer level doesn't mean the item should be worth more. Dragon Boots require 83, but they are, as it stands, almost 500k cheaper now than the Black Mask. It's all about Demand. Right now the Slayer Helmet is one hot item. Everyone wants one. So the Black Mask is very desired. Moreso than the whip, I think, at this point. Give it a few weeks, the hype will die down. Some of it already has now that thousands of people already have the Helmet. But if I were to guess, it will top at 1M.
  9. Do you even slay? If you did you'd know that with a Bunyip most tasks require NO FOOD now. So with Bandos and a Bunyip, you have the advantage over players without it. I respect your knowledge in other areas, such as the obviously Fight Caves, but in this case you're severely wrong.
  10. Prosatin_Copper is my vote. Only, I hope that once you decide on a style the old Tip.It logo goes back up at the top of the forum. The phpBB logo is lame and totally robs the forums of it's individuality. Right now it just looks like a forum some new fansite made with only 5 bucks or so in their pocket. I know you're working hard to restore it all. It's a huge task. I'm just concerned that we might lose too much of the old tif feel, and I don't feel it's fair to give the person who backstabbed you guys the pleasure of known he killed the old tip it forums entirely. lol.
  11. The Slayer Helmet is worth it. Trust me. Anyone who does even an ounce of Slayer needs to get one. Not only is it a black mask combined with all the other slayer head gear, but it has the same stats as a Rune Full Helm, only the Slayer Helmet does not give negative bonuses to Ranged and Magic attack like the Rune Full Helm does, making this a truly amazing piece of armor. Also, to further explain what someone tried to explain earlier in the thread, but (in my opinion,) didn't really make clear enough: If you want to earn faster Slayer Points, you can go to the Canifis Slayer Master for ALL tasks EXCEPT for your 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, etc etc. You will earn the Bonuses for those tasks at Duradel's rate. Meaning, you do NOT have to do Tasks 1-9 at Duradel to earn 75 Points on the 10th task, or Tasks 1-49 at Duradel to earn 225 Points on the 50th task. You just need to use Duradel himself on those tasks, and anyone else you wish on the others. Hope that cleared it up. I currently have 38 Tasks in a row from Duradel. I have the slayer helmet, and I am 1 simple task away from being able to make Slayer Rings. After that I'm putting future points into making Broad Arrows and Bolts.
  12. You can Catch way more than 130 an hour at 65+ How did you only catch 130 Red Chinchompas in 1 hour? You must suck...like...a lot. It's actually about 85,000 experience points per hour at Red Chinchompas once you are Level 80+ using 5 traps. If you play 10 hours a day (which most people who set a goal like a fast 99 do), that is 850,000 experience points per day. 850,000 times 14 days (2 weeks) is 11,900,000 experience points. So I mean....no, you probably can't get 99 in 2 week playing only 10 hours a day, but you can get close. Also, keep in mind, I get 85k exp an hour at level 81. At 90+ I'm sure you can get an easy 100k+ an hour.
  13. I just updated the support list from 160 to 185 supporters. I am very pleased with the amount of positive feedback I am getting. I am also happy to say that I now have a laptop and internet hooked up in my room, so I will begin to work on new ideas to spice this skill idea up even more.
  14. Lol. Probably famils? Karamthulu will probably be shortened to Kar. or Karam Wolpertinger=Wolp? Funny how lots of the famils have long names :P Or we could all remain educated, intelligent people and choose not to abbreviate names and just call them "familiars," and "karamanthulu." You know...just a thought.
  15. It's the Dust Devil you will be able to summon.
  16. Lol...Summoning doesn't own it...it just was made into the game first. A lot of confirmations of Archaeology in the future have been spotted, so don't expect this skill to go unheard.
  17. 138 Combat, getting my skill total up past 2,100, getting another level 80+ skill (although this skill I'm training to 99) and of course the fact that you will be able to summon familiars that help with skilling. :D
  18. Lets dissect what you've just stated to be "difficult," or "complicated," shall we? You learn of Falador pretty early on in the game, hopefully. Getting there is not hard at all. Oh wow...you have to walk a few pixelated squares just to get to the Real Estate Agent? HARD!!! You totally try to cheat and add in stupid things like, "forget 1k gp." Sorry...but it is not REQUIRED to forget your 1k gp. You forgot it. That's your fault for being forgetful. Go to the bank? Man...what's with all this walking that literally takes 5 seconds to do!?! I could have taken a breath in that amount of time! Walk back to agent...need I say more? Buy house. Well...seeing as how there is a "I'd like to buy a house," option clearly towards the top of the list, I don't see the complicated part about this. Walk to Rimmington. Hmmm...again, so hard. Figure out how to get in? By this point in a new character's gaming period, they should be able to know that they right click and select Enter portal. I mean...they can even left click. Doesn't get easier than that. Try to make a room but need more money? Again...you CANNOT include this as something that complicates it...because it is not required to forget to bring cash. That, again, is your own stupid fault. I am going to spare the rest of this to you. But I will say, "Beg for saw and hammer," is another prime example of you trying to make it sound like the task is much more daunting than it really is. Stop trying to flatter yourself. Oh...and you get more than 58 exp. You now have a house, a parlour, a saw and hammer, planks, nails, etc etc. You have paved the way to expanding your home. If you're really serious about all of this being too complicated for new players, then maybe we don't need new players. If they are that moronic and simple-minded, I don't want them playing this game, anyway.
  19. 50m was never the price for 99 prayer. It's always been around the 75-150m mark. The only way you could get 99 prayer for 50m from level 1 using dragon bones is if you got them for about 900 gp each. And unless I'm wrong, Dragon Bones have never been less than 1.2k each.
  20. Magic isn't just a combat skill, you ignorant boob. I rarely use magic for combat. 90% of my magic exp came from alching, teleporting, enchanting and lunar spells. As for this...I don't know exactly what will happen, but I'd also like to remind you that Jagex stated that the more quest points you have, the more of a difference in wealth you'll be able to trade, leading up to 300k gp for those who have all the quest points. This means that for those with higher quest points, this update really shouldn't effect you too much.
  21. lol...Runescape is not based in Medieval times. If you really knew the game, you'd understand that. Furthermore, I'd like you to tell me how Runecrafting and Summoning fit into "Medieval" logics. Oh...and fyi. Archaeologists and historians existed in the Medieval times. Just because everything before now is history to us doesn't mean people in what call "historic" periods didn't have "historic" periods of their own. So please, educate yourself.
  22. I agree that they aren't really a threat. I'm also 126, though. But that being said...they really aren't that powerful if you're smart and know what to bring in the wilderness. I was able to kill 4 revanent knights with only prayer and a single dose of super set. I took minimal damage to the point where I didn't even have to eat. The wilderness is a joke now, in my opinion, but I'm not complaining. I never pk'd and now I can do anything I want in the wilderness without worrying about pkers.
  23. It's not hard to tell you didn't even read the guide. I don't want your opinion here unless you back it up with solid fact. Had you taken the time to read, and then given critcism on things found within the guide, I would have respected your opinion. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post suggestions, compliments and constructive criticism.
  24. Yes, this is definetly something I was planning to add to the guide a bit after I posted it here and started getting feedback, but college life and the lack of my own personal computer really hinders me to be able to do much to update the guide at the moment. Thank you for seeing this, though. It's feedback like this that turns something good into something even better. However, I don't think it's much of an argument to the point where you won't support the idea. What the idea might lack in new items, it definetly makes up for in uniqueness of new skill enhancements and new areas to explore. And there are new weapons and items included in the guide. Make sure to keep an eye out for everything. I won't add you to the support list, though in the future I'd hope you don't turn down an entire idea based on something so trivial as not having enough new items. Jagex releases new items all the time. That wasn't the exact approach I wanted to take with this skill idea. And I have updated the support list.
