Because of the Slayer update, black masks have gone WAAAY up. How high will they go? Post your thoughts and discuss it here. I personally think they will start to go down soon, maybe at around 700k.

I personally hope they up to 20m so i can get that Bandos godsword i have always wanted. :D But thats never going to happen, i am thinking it may go up to 1.5m then start to drop.

I had someone offer me 700k on the spot for mine earlier today. Politely declined.

Regardless of how high they go, I still doubt this will make doing Cave Horror tasks any less painful. But, I think they'll peak at 1M.

I heard rumors that are 1.3M on the forums, thanks to junk trading.

 

 

 

The price will crash in about a month due to all the slayer masks being made.

Either way, Ill be torn between selling my best ever drop, or keeping it

Meh, I figure it'll be just like all the other items that skyrocket due to a new quest. They'll shoot up, and you won't be able to buy a single one at max price. Then just a suddenly they'll crash, and you won't be able to sell one at minimum. They might swing around a bit, but unlike rare drops once the interest in the new quest\slayer slacks off they should return to their normal or slightly higher then normal price.

I sold mine as soon as I learned about the slayer mask. I thought the slayer mask worked like all the headgear combined, not that you needed to combine them.

 

I sold it for max (512k) and then found out they were going for 800k w/ junk trades.

rguardless as to how high they go..

 

 

 

they will go back down.. As i understand it, they were about 450-500kish before smoking kills..

 

 

 

I suspect they will fall by the end of the year to about 550-600k...

 

 

 

My reasons are this.. we had a huge increase in there desirability, but a low stock of available ones.

 

This lead to the price increase, but it has also lead to more people going and getting the mask.

 

As time goes on the demand will drop and the market will correct itself... but it probably will be seen as

 

more useful and stay at a higher price

you cant compare black masks to abby whips it just doesnt make since to do so. Firstly there is limited supply of black masks with most players believeing the work of getting one is not worth 500k etc. So few players actually kill these things (and there arent many of them), and you need a quest to kill them and are an outright hassle. For these reasons we will see the price just keep rising, intil a point where it is worthwhile for people to start trying to get them. (ie id say around 1m)

One of my clan mate is banking on one mil. Probably it isn't going to happen.

 

 

 

How far this will raise is really up in the air. Let us not forget some factors:

 

-Black masks increase is as a result of additional use, not a new use (like Marigolds)

 

-There always been a decent amount of them in the market, this update merely made them much more worthwhile of an item to have

 

-The number of slayers is not actually that huge, most of the regular slayers normally is already in possession of a black mask.

 

 

 

To be quite honest, I really do not understand what is driving this up truly. It is almost as if half the RuneScape population suddenly discovered the black mask and want it. A lot of this is driven by the expectations that it will rise.

I've had mine since they first came out when I got it as a drop, I didn't sell it THEN for 5m, and I won't sell it for that now. :P

lol funny thing is ive been merching them for the last 2 days. just set up an offer at max wait 2 hours sell for 200k more than max with junk. it will probably stop at around 750k from what ive seen :roll:

well just sold one for 1m easy. they sell for 800k on low times of day, and a low of 900k at high times

I've seen various people offering 1.3-1.5m for a black mask on the forums, using junk trade.

 

 

 

Because I just returned from a 7 month-quit I had only little money left, so I didn't bother buying it for over a million. Just tried to buy one in the GE for max price and 10 hours later I got it for 550k. Just have some patience and you can easily still get it in GE for max price because many people don't realise they've gone up that much :)
