So, the recent slayer updates include the introduction of slayer points after finishing 5 or more consecutive tasks.

 

 

 

Does this make you slayers Burthorpe less tasks (=JaGEx' intentions) or don't you care for them?

 

 

 

Pondering over strategies to "score" points as fast as possible, coes it work if you'd do 5 Mazchna tasks (2nd easiest) and switch to Duradel to get max points?

I am not Burthorping any tasks atm because I want to be able to make the ring, and save up some points.

I'm on task 24 no burthorping. That's quite a long streak no burthorped for me.

I've heard, from a player with Slayer Helm, that he did Canifis master and only switched to Duradel for 10-in-row-bonus. He also got 50 tasks bonus (225 points!)

Got a little over 200 points now. And ive figured out that I actualy skipped some kinda cool tasks..!

I've currently got the slayer helmet and 75 points =D when I get 100 points, and next time I get a warped terrorbird task, ima say a nice big BUHBYE to it XD

The slayer helm looks cool imo.

plus you'll be wearin it all time in slayer for the black mask, so no forgettin to put it on for tasks an havin to go back to bank

It's worth it if you're going to do lots of slaying, but for i've nearly maxed Slayer so it'll kindo be useless for me, other than it being a nice helmet for my future slayer outfit XD

After the 5th task your points start counting.

 

 

 

So just use the canifis slayer master, (as burth tasks do not count for tasks in a row, as they are the tasks that reset your counter) for the first four tasks, and then after that use whichever slayer master you prefer.

 

 

 

Also you have to use an uncharged black mask to make the slayer helmet.

infact you can, and that is how i am going to get the last 75 points. its a good way to avoid getting horribly long and boring tasks like black demons and warped terrorbirds. However you still run that risk anyway.

 

 

 

 

 

also, if you guys hadnt noticed assignments have been more frequent. You can get back to back assignments of the same thing. Also rare things are assigned more and dragons less. Ive had 3 abby demon tasks in the same day, which in all reality i have never had two in the same day.

Yup I got 175 warped terrorbirds and 135 warped terrorbirds in a row when I was doing duradel tasks =[ thank goodness i've finally got the slayer helm so I can reject those nub tasks. They give nice drops but they're a pain to kill and they hit uber high if you don't have protect range on o_O and even then they can still hit the odd 14 on you in multi combat I might add =l

I'm trying to go as long as I can without burthoping tasks. Right now I'm on 12 or 13 in a row, I don't remember. However, I'm not using Mzachna. I'm trying to get the most slayer and combat experience for my time and effort, so I'm using Sumona and Duradel like I would have had the points system not been put in place.

Task 20 done, 280 and some points now.

But.... do you need to beat Smoking Kills in order to make use of points?

I suppose it does have the desired affect of making me burthope less, as i have been able to cancel 1 of my 3 consecutive dark beast tasks after finding them repetitive, and then being able to block/remove warped terrorbirds.

Yeah you're right. I cancelled a 73 steels task yesterday. It works out way better in the long run

 

when you make it to the 50 task bonus. Although steels are the first on the list to be blacklisted for me :P

16 tasks done for me, 14 more till mask =P

Chaeldar, the master I used, got owned task-wise with this update. But Sumona apparently has most of the good tasks, so I'm using her for a while.

A bit off-topic, but I find that using the balloons to taverly and banking at CW is faster than using house method. Although it only works if you're under a certain weight (40kg maybe?)

I've done 14 tasks, got a few points. I want to be able to make those slayer rings.

I haven't been slaying much, but for me the points are a side effect. I'm not going for the helm, though that would be nice, so all I'm doing is slaying regularly at Duradel.
