  1. Why, the Wise Old Man, of course. Oh...wait. I WAS forced to fight alongside him. lol.
  2. Well, I break my friends down into three categories: 1. Best friends - Only have 3 of these, and I met them long before Runescape when I used to work for a Neopets help site like 6 years ago. 2. Acquaintences - These are the people I met who are really nice and just fun to talk to. Sometimes they tip over into category 3, sometimes not. 3. My "Hook-Ups" - These are the people I rarely talk to, but will use for help. For example, I have a person with 99 Smithing and a person with 99 Crafting who I will have make me things when I need them. (Like furies, Rune Hachets from Runite Bars I get while I slay, etc) And in return, I make them potions, sell them slayer drops, let them use my gilded altar, etc. Of course, there's those temporary people you add who you are making a trade with or something of the sort, but I don't count them since they get deleted from my list immediately after I am done with them.
  3. I don't ever EVER use Pest Control for my melee training. I think it's a waste of exp I can use on Slayer. So I slay with my whip when I do Attack and Defense, and then slay with my Dragon Scimitar when I do Strength.
  4. Sadly, I think wkw is right. Any imp can respawn at any of the set spots. So the chance of finding a Dragon is probably even moreso slim outside of minigame as it is inside of the minigame.
  5. You really have no proof of that. As soon as someone doesn't get a whip during a single task they FREAK out and assume Jagex has tampered with something. Well, guess what, folks...it's all in your head. The drops are random, period, end of story. So while some of you may think Nechryael are more profit per task, I think otherwise. It is just in MY experience that I have had better luck at Abyssals than at Nechryael. Keyword there is LUCK. And keep in mind...it takes seven and a half or more Rune Boots to be able to equal ONE Abyssal Whip. That right there tells me Nechryael are not more profitable unless you are extremely unlucky. And don't even get me started on the other drops Abyssals have as opposed to Nechryael. lol.
  6. Yeah, I have to disagree strongly, also. Out of the 12 whip drops I have had, 6 of them I got in pairs on 3 tasks. I always get at least 1 whip everytime I have a task there. When I get Nechryael, I always get 1 pair of Rune Boots, rarely two.
  7. First: Depending how you want to percieve it, it would either be Cooking or the Quest cape. Since the capes weren't when I got 99 cooking, and they released more quests after I got it, as well...I'd say Cooking was, technically, my first GARENTEED cape. Next: It will most likely be Hitpoints, mainly because I'm going for a higher slayer. (Maybe 95 or even 99.) Last: The day I get 99 mining will be the day the earth spontaneously combusts. lol.
  8. Well...I absolutely LOATHE fishing, mainly because of the types of people that flock to the fishing guild and such. So whenever I go there to fish shark or similar, I always get reported by some moron for not having a conversation with them when they're acting stupid. "Oh, Outsanity isn't talking! He's botting!" Yeah...right...a level 120+ with over 2k total and I'm going to risk my account by botting for a lousy 100k gp an hour. That'll happen. lol.
  9. Well...The seercull requires a grand total of (drum roll, please!)... ...1 Slayer to get! Now...lets look at what the Dark Bow will require to get: 90 Slayer (About 5,350,000 exp) Now, of course we're not putting in the combat requirement factors, but pretty much you have to have a high SOMETHING (Magic, Range or any Melee stat, or a combo of all) to have 90 Slayer. Also, right now...about 3,000 people have 90 Slayer. That's 3,000 people that will be supplying the entire RS population with this bow. Sure...the demand will eventually die down, and so will the price, but to say that it's going to drop to 2m within the first month is kind of pushing it, in my opinion. Will it get there eventually? Probably. Will it happen right away? No.
  10. I don't understand why people insist the Phats and rares make up "most of the enconomy." It's been said by many RS Economists and Merchants (Such as R2-Pleasant) that, while, yes, the rares make up a large chunk of it, they are not the majority of the economy. Raw materials such a logs, fish, ores and runes (p ess mined and made intro runes) make up the majority of the economy. Then you've got the amount of Abyssal Whips, Dragon Chainbodies, etc going into the economy as well. Just the other day I got THREE Abyssal Whips during a single slayer task of Abyssal Demons and sold all of them for a total of 4,800,000 Gp. That's money that basically appeared out of thin air and into my inventory, but somewhere, that cash has to be made up for. We can assume the gp came into the economy through alching. Just think about it. There are 143 worlds on Runescape, and, on average during the summer months particularly, there are an average of 1500 people on each world. If even 500 people on each server are doing SOMETHING that brings items or matierals into the game, you can assume that 70,000 or so people are bringing items into the game every second. That adds up. Lets just assume that even only 10,000 of those people are shark fishing. On average, each person will get 100-150 shark an hour. That's 1,000,000-1,500,000 Shark being brought into RS an HOUR. That's roughly 900,000,000-1,350,000,000 GP's worth an hour...which is far more than all rares could rise in price a day. So...No, it is NOT possible for the economy to "crash." The only way this could happen is if Alching did not exist, shops no longer bought items for gp, and monsters, npcs, etc stopped dropping gp. Eventually, more items would be brought into the economy than gp, and boom: unstable economic crash. This would just never happen unless Jagex went insane.
  11. 1.Don't put a ridiculous statement in your thread and tell people to not comment about it -.- . 2.The same sentence pretty muh answered itself  . 3. Don't complain aout something being overpowered when you don't even have that skill in the highscores. My guess is that you died the Elvarg or something and yougot angry when you saw someone else go in using orayer and kill him with ease. first off, i beat elvarg first try. second, prayer doesn't proect from his flame attack now does it? sure, i doesn't take too long to level if you have a couple mil to spend on it. prayer is the way to buy into combat, without it, member pures would be obsolete, because they can't use prayer in place of their low defense. not many people have the what 60 constructioon to get a gilded alter, too damn expensive, same with buying d bones. you can call me a noob for saying that you can buy your way into combat, sure, but it won't be true. say there's a level 3 skiller. hes rich, most skillers are. he wants to get into combat, but is too afraid to train on stronger monsters that will level him faster. so what can he do? buy a high prayer level, use protection prayers, and voila, free combat exp almost. and don't give me that bs about having to use p pots all the time, if you weren't so impatient or if you were using prayer at a low level, then u could just pray to get it back. i don't have a problem with stat boosting prayers, nor with the smite, retribution, and redemption prayers. save item was a good idea, but the 2x recover prayers are a little lame. protection prayers are the ones that make the game easier for you stuck up rich people. First, off, and lets get this straight before I go any further...wealth does not determine attitude. You can not say that all rich people are stuck up. You have no solid proof nor evidence to back that statement up. And also, in my opinion, I feel the only reason you would make such a comment is the fact that it was derived from jealousy and laziness. Jealousy because you want something you don't have, and laziness because you refuse to work for it. Now...I'd also like to make the point that it is not, by ANY means, difficult to become "wealthy" in game. Prayer is at an all-time low for cost, right now. Dragon bones used to be 3,000 Gp each...now they are 1,200 gp each. That is a MAJOR difference, and now, basically anyone can afford 99 Prayer. And if they can't, spend a good 2 or three weeks nature rune crafting and voilÃÆÃâÃâà...enough cash for 99 Prayer. Also, it's just stupid to say that a level 3 would raise combat or prayer. They are skillers for a reason...they don't train combat, and if they do, (they aren't skillers, but...) they do it like EVERY OTHER person. You make it sound as though they are handicapped when it comes to combat training. I'm pretty sure they know more about training than most "combat people" do. They wouldn't need prayer to be able to train combat against monsters that they need to be training on, anyway. For example, a former skiller with 1 attack, strength and defense and 43 prayer won't be training on something much higher than level 15 or so, mainly because they won't be able to hit that monster well. (Unless it's defense is super low.) I apologize if you feel I am singling you out, but your arguments just don't retain water, in all honesty.
  12. that I would like! Like seriously, in america (for those of you out of country) on animal planet they should dog fights and how people abuse there dogs! WHAT THE (beep) is this world coming to! I plain on making donations to a animal rescue center once i get a better job and i plan on making a donation often! EDIT: Have you heard a dog cry? You want to see the abuse they go through? watch that video and you will see things you do not need too... I watched alittle to be sure I thought i was gonna throw up on my bed... If you where to come by my house and do that to any animal i would hurt you... arrest me do what you must but animals like humans deserve better You're taking this way too far, honestly. The real issue here isn't promotion of animal cruelty. It's your inability to differentiate a virtual online game and real life. I suggest maybe stop playing Runescape if you're going THIS outrageously far with your opinions.
  13. Is it seriously time for another one of these, "Omg! Prayer is cheating! I hate it! Noobs use prayer! Blah Blah Blah," threads? Get over it. Prayer is useful, and by no means cheap. Oh...and by the way...it's the fastest Level 99 to get if you have the cash to buy d bones and a Gilded Altar. So don't give me any of that, "Takes too long to level," crap. lol.
  14. Actually, the Quest Cape is not trimmed. It's like EVERY OTHER non-trimmed cape. It has the trimmed section, but it is not a seperate colour from the cape colour. (Yes, it's a slightly different tint, but it is not such a drastic change in colour that one could call it trimmed.) Take a look at the non-trimmed Fletching cape, for example. The part where the trim goes is a slightly bluer version of the green/blue colour the cape itself is, but the actual trimmed cape is gold trimmed.
  15. Ok...it's official...I'm going to be on lunar spells for a really long time after this quest. XD
  16. Lol...the Rogue's Den? I spend tons of time doing random things there, like cooking and thieving...and it is not by ANY means a place to go to get away from idiots. I personally have my own "secret retreat" area...but I'm not going to be posting it here, because I'd rather keep the privacy I have when I'm there. lol.
  17. I must assume from this post that you have never once picked up a newspaper and read the Editorials section? I am sick of seeing complaints and rants in the comments like yours. The Times is not a news article, nor is it a college paper. It is an Editorial, an OPINION piece meant to entertain as well as inform. If you dislike the writing style so much, subscribe to the Globe and Mail - don't read something someone has volunteered their time to write and post on a site that someone else has paid for and provided to you free of charge, and then tell them they aren't up to your intellectual standards. So, basically, what you're saying is that just because this is a video game help site that we should lower our intellectual standards to that of the stereotypical "video game community?" You're degrading yourself and the entirety of the Tip It Times with that statement. Going on your train of thought, I suppose all children in elementary school should act like infants and ones in High School should only be concerned with nothing than immature topics such as drugs and sex. While we're at it, lets assume it's ok to party and act like a fool in college, because that's what "college kids" do. You are a good example of why the community as a whole hasn't matured intellectually. You make it seem alright to dumb yourself down, or lower your standards because you're in a place where it's ok to not have the dignity in yourself to set better standards for yourself. This article simply did not do what it was declared (by implication) to do. Pardon me for not letting it slip by because we're in a video game community, but it just didn't.
  18. Thanks. I'm trying to get 99 Firemaking in about 2 weeks time...it depends on if my schedule allows it, since I rehearse a ton. (For plays and musicals I do)
  19. Today I have seen yet another milestone, and the largest one yet, at that. Instead of my usual post of reaching a goal of a combat level or watching a skill tick over from a 98 to a 99, I have reached 2,000 Total Levels. It has taken me approximately 2 years and 2 months to make it this far, and I can only hope that however long I continue to play Runescape is as successful as it has been. Here's the picture: And here's my stats: My Next Goals (In order of when I plan to achieve them): -99 Firemaking -All Stats 80+ (Starting with Smithing, then Mining, then Agility) -Then I will finally end my long break from combat and train Slayer until I'm at least Level 90 Slayer. ~Outsanity
  20. Thats bad tho, total level doesnt make a player, his/her attidtude do.. what he means is he can do more in the game than he could before thus a better player.. he wasn't refering to his attitude or anything or thats how i took it.. i feel the same way personally as my levels increase generally i can do more than i could before.. Thank you, Drgnslyer_15, for clearing that up. You're exactly right. I did not mean a better player, attitude-wise. Attitude doesn't make you a better player, it makes you a better person. Total level makes you a better player because it broadens the horizon of things you can do in the game. For example: I can burn/light everything in the game. I can make every potion in the game. I can fletch everything in the game. I can cook everything in game. I can craft every craftable rune in the game. I can basically kill any monster in game. I can use every prayer in the game. I can thieve everything in the game. I can kill every slayer monster in the game. (Dark Beasts I can do with pie) I can hunt and capture everything in the game. I can chop/cut any tree in the game. Tell me how many of those things you can do. Obviously I don't have all 99s, but my total level is so good that I rarely ever need to buy anything from other players (Unless I'm doing something in bulk and would rather not get it myself) so I'm more self-sufficient.
  21. I like the whole theme of this article, and the moral you're supposed to take from it, but I must say one thing that irks me about the way you have proposed this topic is the way you have written it. You include a lot of information that is not needed, repetitive and it seems to me that some of the things you say are to get a laugh, rather than to prove your point. The article is supposed to inform and/or persuade, and for the most part, it does; but leave out passages such as the dog drinking from the toilet, the person hurting your feelings by calling you a n00b and the beer bit. It tells me that you're not here to make me believe what you believe, but rather to entertain me. This should not be your focus. I think you're under the impression that putting humorous lines into this article will get the reader to like the article more, but to those of us who understand how to properly persuade and/or inform a person or persons, this really is a mundane read. 8/10 on topic choice. 5/10 on composition.
  22. I completely dissagree with you. If people only trained the skills they loved, there wouldn't be people with all 99s out there, because there's no way someone could truly "love" all 23 skills currently in the game. Furthermore, if you ever want to be a good player, you're going to learn that oftentimes you train skills, not because you love them, but because in order to improve as a player, it's a must. I actually liked training cooking and thieving because as you level, you burn less and steal more successfully. As for Fletching (and now the 99 I'm after, Firemaking) I did particularly enjoy the skill and knew there wasn't a reason to get higher than 85 Fletching or 80 Firemaking, but I trained/am training them anyway because I know it would/will increase my total level, which makes me a better player. Eventually everyone's going to have to face the fact that the game isn't solely played because people love it, but because A. It gives you something to do, and B. It's a competition.
  23. Herblore, because it allows me to make potions that aid in many situations which call for them. Also, not a lot of people train it, so when I tell someone I have 87 Herblore, I always get a really shocked reaction, which is nice. Plus, the Skill Cape looks wonderful.
  24. To those of you who say that skillers don't use Pyramid Plunder, you're ignorant and quite mistaken. I know MANY level 3, 10 hp skillers who use pyramid plunder to thieve to 99. It's not the easiest thing to do, but it's definetly not hard or impossible, either.
