well, i was just looking at the updates archive on Runescape, and it has been about 10 months since the release of hunter.

 

 

 

this interests me because:

 

 

 

it was roughly 6 months between slayer(january 26, 2005) and farming(july 11, 2005)

 

 

 

10 months between farming(july 11, 2005) and cons (may 31, 2006)

 

 

 

6 months between cons (may 31, 2006) and hunter (nov 21, 2006)

 

 

 

so, if theres a pattern going on here, we should be getting a new skill very soon.

Jagex is always working on a new skill but with the the hugest update of this year(godwars) being release I think a new skill would be due next year. But skills take alot of programming so it takes awhile.

I jus think its coincidence. i think they finish when they finish, and dont really plan to bring it out at a specific pattern.

if they do come out with one i hope its a good one and not :twisted: UNDER WATER BASKET WEAVING :twisted: (note i did not come up with that idea, saw it somewhere on theses forums)

i'm pretty sure jagex doesn't have a pattern on when a new skill is released, rather they release it...well, when it's ready. It's almost been a year since hunter, meaning that this next skill is a big one.

 

 

 

But it's probably not a new skill, but summoning, because they hinted at it soooooo much at the beginning of the year.

I hope Jagex doesn't release any new skills anytime soon. All of my skills are 60+ atm, mostly 70+, I don't want yet another distraction from my current goals to get an ugly 1/1 to 60+, and I certainly don't want another skill to devalue my 1900 total like it did to my 1600, and 1700.

 

 

 

Besides, what could the possibly release? The only thing that comes to mind is some kind of beastmaster skill; nothing else seems feasable.

They should update old skill before even thinking about a new skill as Winner5555 said.

With more and more people maxing out, it's apparent that new skills are needed. ;) As for when that will be, who knows. Sepculation on a new skill comes up every couple of weeks, it'll be done when it's done. ;)

That or Jagex could do something I heard a rumor about some time back, and blow the lid off the level 99 limits on all skills. Maybe even change the hp meter system. :-k

I sure hpoe they don't release a new skill for a looooong time. There's so much to do other than rush a new skill into the game. I hope they continue with all these graphics updates and what-not for the near future.

There are quite a lot actually :) . I do believe there is a sticky in the RSOF for suggesting new skills; the jmods have done an awesome job compiling all the suggestions and putting it neaty organised in the main posts.

What do we need a new skill for?

 

I got waaaay too many things left to do to implement another skill already.

 

It'll come out when Jagex thinks it's ready for release, which won't be in the near future *cough* GWD *cough*

Even if they were to introduce a new skill it wont be as good as the older skill..
