JordanGM
What kind of new skill would they even put?
CampbellMC
I like the concept of the "Riding" Skill. You would be able to ride different mounts, train by using them on a obstacle course, and the higher your level, you could use different mounts, you would increase your speed with these mounts and the areas in which you could travel on these. jessy87
It was also 2 years between rc and slayer. . RS2 came out 2004 March, Slayer 2005 January/February Hey wonderboy, he's talking about Runecrafting, not RS2.. oops ? RuneCrafting came with RS2.. oops? XD lol I dont care when they release a new skill as long as they don't rush it. I'd rather wait for updates to be completed. like hunter? before imp hunting huntering was kind of lame. sure chinchompas turned out to be okay.. but honestly the lack of things to hunt was a let down after we had farming with its reasonably large amount of things to do, and constructions ability to do a new thing every lvl, some times 2-5 new things
Cabbage_Boii
we don't need any new skills :uhh: With more and more people maxing out, it's apparent that new skills are needed. ;) As for when that will be, who knows. Sepculation on a new skill comes up every couple of weeks, it'll be done when it's done. ;) That or Jagex could do something I heard a rumor about some time back, and blow the lid off the level 99 limits on all skills. Maybe even change the hp meter system. :-k This is going to be one heck of a nice discussion. <*Stays tuned.*> ~Mr. Devnull i can almost assure you that that will never happen, because what will happen if people have 200m exp in that skkill? theyll boost it to being able to be lvl 200 and the person with 200mil xp will already be 189?(random geuss) yes i do think its time for new skill :D Let your yellow mellow. Rahila
Jagex is always working on a new skill but with the the hugest update of this year(godwars) being release I think a new skill would be due next year. But skills take alot of programming so it takes awhile. They never said it was the biggest update of the year, they said it was the MOST INTENSE update of the year. And going off of that, most skills arent very intense...so i have my hopes up that there will b a new skill next month. http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/
Erichermit
I really barely think of any more "skills" that could be used. I mean.. sure there are a few that could be new, but it seems like we just really need updates to older skills Do you hate Wyverns or Warped Terrorbirds? Think again! Gryffin_Lord
i dont think they are preparing a new skill, they are probably updating the old one. (would be really nice imo)
sonerohi
Jagex covered too broad of an area in each skill without putting enough detail in. now they're going to be shafted when they try to update skills because things aren't going to fit well. Pyrolikespie
Jagex covered too broad of an area in each skill without putting enough detail in. now they're going to be shafted when they try to update skills because things aren't going to fit well. Crafting covers way too many things, Pottery and Tailoring(including Threadwork, for bs and such)could be two seperate skills.. I agree. Also an example of a too specific skill is Firemaking. Maybe it could be updated to be Pyrotechnics/Fireworks? EDIT: The only two skills left to make ever, IMO, are Bard/Music/Rhythm(play instruments, or combine with agility to add a rhythm of music to your fighting.. it's hard to dance-fight in armor though) and Summoning(self-explanatory). Summoning has a better chance since Bard has to do with music, and a lot of people prefer to play Runescape while listening to their own music so they would have to make music very visual. Most everything in Runescape except music can be depicted with imagery... EDIT AGAIN: or Sharane's ideas.. Tailoring - I mean seriously, rangers have crafting to make armour, meleers have smithing while mages are left with none. Riding - Not a trained skill perse, though it does involve non-riding requirements such as a set amount of money and a combat level. Machinery - How big are they going to make the already-huge crafting skill? I know a lot of engineer-oriented items are being put in there too like the toys. Officially retired on 12/10/07, no drop parties because that might be "covertly trading wealth". What does one person's happiness(until they quit) mean compared to the hours I wasted while runecrafting, anyways?

Agreed. They really need to update some of those skills that are boring and pointless (The only one I can really think of is firemaking, you can't do ANYTHING with it). However, they are going to run into problems. Being immature is a part of being mature.

I_elaborate
In my opinion, There are more than enough skills already. I would much prefer time being spend on developing those thoroughly.
D. V. Devnull
klankaos just gave me an idea for firemaking ... DEMOLITIONS, or more to the point, "Explosives-making and usage"!!! ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)
Harrington
Yeah, I recon a new skill is definately overdue. Of course no one knows for certain what they're working on... I know Jagex claim that they're ALWAYS working on at least one new skill, so all we have to do is get the bus/train/plane to London, break in to Jagex HQ, sneak past the level 648 guards, then use our computer hacking skills to pry the information from their systems, then teleport the hell outta there!!! ;)

stevepole
We don't need a new skill! We've already have enough to do in runescape right now! I would rather have the current skills get updated then see a new kill come out.
