If you didn't get enough REM sleep(rapid eye movement), then it should have needed to catch up on it. So you get more sleep. But I think you should have dreamed, you probably just forgot them. my sleep is really screwed up, I sleep from 4 to midnight. I'm really close to becoming being nocturnal :\
