GamePro.com interviews Andrew Gower.
Utopianflame replied to chaosgone's topic in General Discussion
Upkeep of the servers is more than likely atleast half of it. I'd say the "main men" might be making 10-11mil a year? If you want to see what andrew earnt april 2005 - march 2006 I posted jagexs company accounts for that period on a topic about jagexs next game in off topic - video games. For that period Andrew earnt ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã1.9-2.1m assuming the equality of the 2 stock types. -

It's 300 staff total I think, theyve been on a recruiting drive then, the last time I check they had ~220 staff. This personally gave me a laugh though -
Mystic robes have a defence requirement (20 defence).
-
Somehow I really can see them creating that special :(
-
Personally I'm not inclined to hope too much for the bow, after all i've watched jagex release 3 sets of black dragon hide with 3 different sets of requirements. Still then it is a slayer drop instead of something that can be made, so heres to hope

16 which got changed to 23 when they made 16 a F2P server, and then I evactuated to 36 after the major engine overhaul that meant I constantly got white-screened on 23. World 36 even has it's own seperate comunity forums.

Are Jagex's updates ever really THAT bad?
Utopianflame replied to evilrodyle's topic in General Discussion
The updates generally are not all that bad, some are fairly pointless others don't have much staying power, but bad is few and far between. The problem with some poeple is they just want Pauls fabled all 99 stat lever. -
Ever found somebody who looks exactly like you?
Utopianflame replied to scorpion999's topic in General Discussion
The picture is long gone (Though it might still be on RV) since I lost my fishing guild time picture archive, but me and my long time twin Mon__cherie always looked the exactly the same. Once during my time there Enielle (from RV) was dressed up the same as us, so we got a picture of triplets on the fishing guild docks, with us all wearing white berets, desert boots, doctors gowns, dragonstone necklaces and saradomin plateskirts. -
Hmm well I bought 90-91 on gold ore which cost me ~6m Up to about 80 I mined my own ore really so largely free. so 7.37m-2.6m=4.77m At about 3.1gp per point of exp that means I spent a total 14-15m Taking into account rune and addy since 85 mining, i'd say about 19m total. The rest of the way wil cost me about 14m of which I currently have about 5m.

I have just under 20k iron ore left, more than enough for 94, I don't have any forging rings, since I get them as I use them from the ruby ring in shop in the market in Zanaris. And i'm ~150k iron ore from 99 so ~30k more iron plates if I make them all the way. Thanks :D I'm working on it being my second 99, it wouldnt be the first time i've tried to get it there and then give up, but hopefully this can help me keep motivated

Talk to the historian about facts a second time, you should get it. -

You don't need to take it to them, you just need to have done it. -

Same, I havent dont all quests, but after talking through once and getting the 3 1k lamps, I talked to him about facts again, and discussed the god-fight from the ghostly robes mini quest, and got the 10k lamp. (You dont need to have done the sword part.) -
That address is on runescape.com as well, in the knowledge base. I figured they would be on a new game quite a long time ago, businesses need growth, and sooner or later runescape will stop providing that. So they need something else ready to take it's place. After all, while andrew and paul have done VERY well for themselves already, there is no reason to let their company stagnate.

Thats right Jagex is developing a new (significant) game! And it's due this year, lets hope they have got better at time management since construction  First a little story, on the official forums (rants) last week was a thread grumbling about the lack updates in that week and asking what did they pay their member ship money for (cue the obvious reply, to play the game). Now on that thread someone posted a specuulative analysis of their profits that they had found on a games review site, no concrete numbers but the general idea was that they are very profitable. So I thought I would check and see what the numbers actually were. Jagex being a limited company registered in the UK has to file accounts each year to companies house, these records are (after a while) released to the public. Having downloaded them (you have to pay) I saw that the analysis was right, they are very profitable, but near the start of the document something else caught my eye. [hide=Wide image][/hide] And the file in full, uploaded to rapidshare. http://rapidshare.com/files/33936222/Jagex1.pdf.html (apr 2005 - mar 2006, this years are not available yet) Source - http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ - Jagex Limited #03982706 I think it's fair to guess that it would be another java based game, and their coporate sites mission statement would suggest that it would be a "persistant character" game, but beyond that, what do you think it will be? And would you migrate to Jagex's new game(depending on what you think it might be.)?

The respawn time is in the region of 10-15 minutes, depending on world population. There are 2 rocks in the F2P world. The wilderness double at the NW corner of the lava maze. And a further 5 in P2P. one in the dungeon under the lava maze. two in the heros guild basement. one outside the temple of light. one on an isle off the isle of Neitiznot.

Aside from the money per hour from rune mining your numbers are badly out. (EDIT: Looking at your signature thats probably because your f2p, p2p has better iron mines for bank mining than f2p.) Still best of luck to you, personally I always liked the east ardounge steel mine (banking legends) for iron mining.

people who overly trust people should they get scammed?
Utopianflame replied to Gunthixmage's topic in General Discussion
No one deserves to be scammed. Still, being excessivly trusting does increase the chances of getitng scammed. Be careful in who you place your trust. -
~Trojanns Dk Drops~
Utopianflame replied to Trojann2's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Oh wow, that is ALOT of money in drops, what do you intend to do with it all? -
Snowey areas: The existing snow lands The browny desert thing: The wilderness. Or the browny desert thing might in fact be the khardian desert, with the grey strip below the ice section being the wilderness.

I read the rules, the manual and printed off the world map

"quit, quit now" or maybe "don't get sidetracked"

I guessed the names of the range boost prayers, I laughed when I saw they were what I thought they would be.
