End of the road - 99 smithing, my apologies for failing to update and missing half the pictures :( No real party since many of my friends are on holiday, but i'm planning a belated one for some time next month. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me and supported on the way to 99 :)

Well It's been a long time (over 750 days) since I got to 85 smithing(a pic can be found the link in my sig) but now I finally reached the end of the journey. :D :D :D Most of the exp(in the region of 8m) has been from iron ore (smelt then smith, usually into plates) I speeded things up for some of the later levels by emptying my bank and buying gold ore. No real party because quite a number of my friends are on holiday, but a few close friends accompanied me on the trip to the wilderness anvils, i'd particulary like to thank redtrousers for the help and motivation she gave me in this :)

affliction are just another badly leaked group who try to follow zps,hu etc, lol. at least they got a better community....noob Meanwhile you are doing your bit to help degrade the community here. The better groups will be sticking around, there will always be a benefit to cohesion and strategy.

:lol: :lol: the slots on slot machines are wheels, but a computer determines what they will end up on before you even spin. i'm pretty sure that's how it works with monsters too, the drop is determined as the monster spawns. the only way to confirm it is to ask jagex though. too bad you can't post your messages, as anyone could make up an answer.... I would have thought the drop was decided on the death of the monster, doing it on spawning would just be a waste of memory.

You Talk like its common Fact. i yet to see proof of anything saying there is such a wheel lol. The fact that any monster dropping gems also drops cosmic talismans, half keys, dragon spear and dragon left half does however give credence to the theory of successive rolls. Also remember that the wheel is only a graphical representation of a random drop with fixed probabilities.

The thing about it being 'random' is that nothing a computer does is random... it is all set by the programer beforehand, which means its only random the first time it is used, after that it is a repeated pattern... Yes I'm a Geek, How'd you guess? :D Assuming the system is "random" you expect that each of the drops have probabilities (possibly expressed as a subsection of the range of the PRNG) and that a pseudo random number generator which is seeded when you log on. This then generates a number, the sub-range which this number falls into gives that drop, then the number generated is used as the next seed. The randomness of this method is thus determined by the PRNG and the nature of the seeding process.

The most likely reason for that is that the random number generator would be reseeded when you log in.

Saradonim dragon hide with cooking or magic cape (hood as well for cooking - trimmed only for magic) looks very good.

That would be me, the friend in question kills the same amount per trip (~10) whether ranging with ruby and diamond bolts or using veracs, anti-mage prayer and anti-fire potions (he's all 99 melee + range stats), might not be so viable for lower levels but it works when your maxed out at least.

It's also viable to fight them in full veracs, praying against mage and using anti fire potions, I have a friend doing it at the moment.

for meleeing it is. its best to use rune bolts with dragon tips and rangers cover a lot more dragons then meleers. Since they are dragons the spec on dragonstone bolts wont (or at least shouldnt) work, use diamond (addy) instead.

I would have thought the best way would be to use enchanted diamond bolts in dragon hides with melee protect.

Your realizing level must be extraordinary high. OT: Only good things seems the mithril dragons and the potions. Nobody uses spears and I'll doubt anyone will use them if they're one handed. Who cares about saving one inventory spot! And we already have the wieldable barbtail harpoon. The spears are worse than useless, but I do think the rune one looks quite nice,I'd make myself one however you need to do tai bwo wanna trio to make them so thats out of the running.

There is no real need for them to release a dragon plate, the chain is still valuable, used by many people and heavily sought after, while the dragon medium was little more than junk.

I'd refuse to take it.

I despise the fact you can use melee to train magic and range via PC, to me that is immoral. Beyond that I don't really care, things have got easier, in most if not all skills, thast just something we have to live with.

Sly I cant help but feel that the only accurate thing in your post is when you said there was nothing random about it, of course there is not, this is a computer, it's only psuedo-random, computers are incaple of generating truly random results, but under the right conditions and useing the right generators, they can give a very good impression of it.
