Reinvest in micsselania: maples lose money!

Featured Replies

Recently, with the new update, maple longs (u) no longer sell for 112gpea at the karamja traderships. While this is bad, it has potentially dangerous effects on farming. For most of the people who farm, you all know that you should know most of your tree seeds come from the thron of misselania minigame.

Recently, with the mass of people investing in maples on miccelania, since, they could sell their 802 maple logs gained in one day (after turning them into (u) bows) for about 90k, and get 8 nests, while still having 6 people free to do whatever, tree seeds have become more plentiful.

As such, the maples were "insurance."

now that maples longs (u) are only being bought for 32gpea, the insurance only covers 1/3 of the money invested. They will now have to make 50k of seeds in as little as 3 nests. So many are low level seeds, that this is now imposible.

My question to you is, now that maples are a bad money-maker, where will people begin to put their workers?

And how will the shortage of tree seeds efect the farming market?

That's what it takes to be a hero, a little gem

of innocence inside of you that makes you want

to believe that there still exists a right and wrong,

that decency will somehow triumph in the end.

coal

You have a bad form of maths..

You invest 50k to maples, doing maples 60ea. You can sell maple logs for that price? So basicly, the nests provide 100% profit.

Just depends if you rather earn profit with seeds or anything else! .. I might do some maths soon if you like me to.

34eyfbd.jpg9h43sp.jpg16m28ty.jpg

Not everyone has their miscellanians working for maples, I've had mine getting herbs and coal for a couple months.

Herbs so I can raise herblore and coal to sell (it makes money too) or to make some steel/mith.

As for the shortage of seeds, people will continue to get maples from miscellania for the nests and firemaking/fletching experience regardless of losing money, so there isn't much to worry about

ill would still use maples as they are great way to get firemaking and tree seeds from nest

ill would still use maples as they are great way to get firemaking and tree seeds from nest

That and the fact that you can sell the logs for at least what your paying for them, but id personally rather get the seeds from them and use them for firemaking.

Afterall for about 2.75mil a month i get about 3 to 4mil in tree seeds, usually...plus at least a million in profit from my herbs that i get for about 900 gp each and get at least 50 ranarrs all the time...etc...

In the long run its still worth it, especially since i always wondred and never found out why people where buying so many maple longs (u) for so much in the first place! :XD:

Ok, been doing some basic maths. Quite simple.. Numbers taken from Tip.it guide and RSOF

Coal produced at 91.6gp ea - sold at 180ea

Coal making a profit of 48178gp ea every day, including 3-4 gems every day

Maples produced at 56.1gp ea - sold at 60ea

Maples making a profit of 3474gp ea every day, including 8-9 birdnests every day

Flax produced at 40gp ea - sold at 85ea

Flax making a profit of 56250gp ea every day, including 2 herb seeds every day

Conclusion: The nests from the maples should make somewhere around 50k to be more profitable then Flax. Or 45k to be more profitable then coal.

Coal:

Easy to sell, prices can even wind up to 200ea.

Gems are a nice bonus, not that bad ;)

Usefull if you wish to train smithing!

Flax:

Not that hard to sell these, despite all the autoers at the moment.

The herb seeds can stack up after a few days. With some expensive herb seeds worth 10k-40k

Not that usefull to train with.

Maples:

Very usefull for training fletchting to 70

Very cheap firemaking experience

Nests provide seeds which are usefull in farming

Nests provide seeds which CAN!/MAY! be very profitable

Facts: around 60% of the nests are tree seeds. This making 5-6 tree seeds every day. These need an average worth of 8333gp ea..

Can be done, although you need to be a tad lucky. A magic/yew/palm/calquet seed quickly adds up..

Now use this in your first post, give me credit and continue this discussion

34eyfbd.jpg9h43sp.jpg16m28ty.jpg

coal gets 75k worth of it a day. Flax get 100k. Why use maples?

Oh and as a reaction on my previous maths..

I chose maples 60ea .. kind of a bad, should be 75-80 at least. Or 85. But I think you guys get the big picture, profit isn't in the logs ;)

34eyfbd.jpg9h43sp.jpg16m28ty.jpg

Maples from MTG only cost 56.1gp each at 100% approval.

there are no stupid questions

just way too many inquisitive idiots

balance is scary to people who like things easy for them

Utopianflame.png

Flax produced at 40gp ea - sold at 85ea

Flax making a profit of 56250gp ea every day, including 2 herb seeds every day

ouch, i sell mine for 100 ea.

Or you could just sell the maple logs for around 70-75 each to players and get 80% of your money back straight away, making a huge profit on the seeds and whatever else your workers are gathering.

And make back 130% of your money invested straight away :P yes you make a small profit with the maples hihi. They remain most profitable I guess..

Been doing some remath..

flax being sold 100ea alas.. a bit harder nowadays..

flax then provides 75k profit every day!

Maples sold 80ea alas.. a bit harder I guess to

Maples then provide 21.1k profit every day! (just the logs!)

Coal being sold 180ea remains 48k profit every day!

IF! the birdnests provide

>50k profit THEN! 100% Maples 50% Flax

>27k profit THEN! 100% Flax 50% Maples

<27k profit THEN! 100% Flax 50% Coal

So.. basicly, how much does the average 8-9 bird nests provide in profit?

More then 50k? More then 27k or less then 27k?

No. You lose 75k per day to receive around 800 logs, as I said you receive about 80% of that 75k if you sell them to players and then you make the profit on the nests, seeds and the other resources gathered by your workers.

i like maples cause of the seeds i make about 30kprofit off the logs then 400k+ off the seeds

fulldragsigcopydh25.jpg

I usually put 100% on herbs now, just to make them into pots myself.

You were never forced to make maple longs (u). Just sell em to other people, counting the nests as the profit.

I don't use Miscellania to make uber amounts of cash anymore. I figure that the investment in raw resources alone is plenty for me.

Besides this, I have a perm buyer for the nests I get, and the flax I sell isn't hard to move product (often times amassing 1-1.5M in one sitting).

Another thing is that I can always burn my Maples, which will do far more for me than selling them ever could. I never bothered to sell them to that charter store; to me it seems like I'd be cheating myself out of Magic experience per bow (I usually alch mine).

Oh well, if you think this is a crippling blow, I guess then you can shift your product processes to something more profitable like Coal...

I believe he was only using figures to work out where you'd get the most profit from your 100% spent rather than 150%, so only 50k would be spent per day then.

Yes he was. However my post stated the overall profits from using your kingdom on maples, which is what this topic is about. I was not talking about individual prices per item.

As I said, if you get 75 each for your maples you get 80% of your money back straight from them and whatever other items you get take you into profit. This is perfectly accurate.

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Oh noes?! .. o well

As to Capone, yes I have misread your post. You get 89.1% back from the maples if you sell them at 75ea. Which is pretty inmense really.. And the birdnests sell for 1.5kea - 2k ea, which earns 15k each day just in nests? So really, you are making profit just getting the stuff.

The seeds are 100% profit, the secondary products are 100% profit. Wow.. Scary! :-k

Now the problem for each one is to decide wether or not they have a use for a certain product. If so, invest on that. For the soul purpose of profit, the table I showed above is clearly the case.. O well, its a though one. Lets hear some more ideas about people's choices.

34eyfbd.jpg9h43sp.jpg16m28ty.jpg

I use a mix of coal/maples at the Royal Trouble Level. (If you do royal trouble its easier to make a positive income at misc Kingdom)

I have:

100% (10 workers) on Coal.

50% (5 workers) on Maples.

Total of 150%.

Check It everyday. I use 75k to support the Kingdom.

I Make:

545 Coal, 2 Gems, 446 Maples, 4 Nests.

Ok, so selling coal at 150e

545 Coal * 150e = 81,750gp

Right off the bat just with the coal, you have already covered the cost of your kingdom's 75k Bill.

So that means you make 6k Coins, 446 Maples, 2 Gems, 4 Nests and their Seeds all PROFIT each day. You can then chose to burn or sell the logs with no loss of money. Same with using the gems, nests and seeds.

There are plenty of combinations that can be used to make money, but I suggest to make the Maples a secondary resources, and not the primary to make money.

dawnsigblue-3.png

Hey guys, quick question:

Is there any point to leaving the ressources mass in the Kingdom? Or would it be wise to withdraw every day? Is there any bonus to leaving ressources in there?

On the flip side, it's been proven that women are probably better mothers

Yes I have balls, but they melted.
