  1. I've seen many posts saying "I was joking about rulebreaking and got muted/banned." I wish more people would notice these so they could avoid the same fate. :( Ask yourself this: even tho I'm saying "it's a bad site", how many morons listening to me will now go navigate to that site and pick up a virus or malware or enter their RS names? Answer: only a few less than would do it if I were the evil person ADVERTISING the site and not warning them. You are not helping - you are doing the bad guy's work FOR him. Sorry. For others who have posted "I was only joking", several people above have explained quite clearly that jokes don't come across in text. If you think this only happens online, go stand in a security line in an airport. They have SIGNS up: "DON'T JOKE ABOUT BOMBS". People felt joking was a way to ease their own tensions, but it just freaked out security personnel and others listening. If you were standing behind someone wearing [insert traditional costume of ethnic group that makes you nervous here], would YOU be confident they were joking? It's different when you are the hearer and not the speaker. So - it's a universal rule in airports now. I do feel sympathy for the impact on your account. Best recommendation: in Runescape - don't joke about breaking rules.
  2. I've taken a look and I see the same thing serpenteye said. The picture shows three rope pulls, and the text next to the picture shows three rope pulls. Please let us know if we are missing something? [EDIT 4 July 2009: closed due to lack of reply in a month]
  3. This is a really good question. When we add a new guide we *should* say what menu it's going on if it's not obvious. My bad. As a tip, you can always try the site map which is on the bar at the top of the page. However, a crewbie is working this issue and will post soon. Thanks for pointing this out.
  4. By the way, our Achievement Capes guide actually does have links to animated emotes for each one. They just aren't shown on the same page, to keep the bandwidth down. This was implemented about 10 months ago.
  5. Jagex has provided Tip.It with a few exclusive pictures of Runescape content under development. We've created a page to share such info with you. Please check out the new Jagex Page to see! It also includes a link to our April interview with Jagex, just in case you missed it.
  6. Sportsguy, from your last post about it on that page, I get this data: 297 Yew shorts start 697,379 end 737,474 = 40,095 245 yew longs start 757,522 end 794,269 = 36747 = 76842 xp total From the previous post, I can't get data easily, because you were stringing in the middle and didn't give stop and start values for each activity change. At least two more sample sets would be needed to confirm this number - I believe it varies somewhat. Some players think the amount of xp you can get is related to your level - I don't know. There are at least seven possible tools, so there's a LOT more data needed before a calculator could be generated. Anyone is welcome to post their information - it's easiest if you use the whole tool in one go and just give the total xp you earned. It's important not to forget and earn xp in that skill if you have to pause for some reason.
  7. Guys, this quest dates from RSC and the rewards haven't changed in forever. There's no issue about collecting the information. It's been updated. And there's no way to influence your reward. The old recommendation for skillers is to simply avoid this quest. You can still obtain the chart for doing treasure trails without it.
  8. We re-took the pic at 50% scale to fit into the guide better, added a red X and include the bridge for location reference. Thanks for this helpful shot and info. You have been credited!!
  9. Thanks George, the compliment is most appreciated. Thanks for all of your thoughtful comments, they are appreciated. It's especially helpful to see your comments on the familiars table, as we weren't sure what a familiar user would most like to see. It sounds like this is something you might use, so we will take a look at your concerns.
  10. Well, from the five collections that have coal and NOT fish, it does consistently show a return of approximately 1 in 200 rather than what is on the site. Possible this was a covert nerf, hard to tell. It seems that when coal and tuna are combined, the result can get skewed. The collections that showed fish only reflected a 1 in 50-53 return, so that's close enough imho. With the oscillation in the tuna return, the two changes would account for the "missing" specials in the original post. I have made this change. Thanks to everyone who posted their own data pictures (you've been credited), we depend on users like you to nail down tricky things like this!!
  11. Sorry, with only the two of you posting, and your results conflicting, I'm just not sure what the answer is here. Just not enough data to draw definitive conclusions. If someone else can post, that would help.
  12. yikes. makes sense really, as you go into a "mini-universe" of your own for the fight. can we get a confirmation from anyone, please?
  13. We'd need the raw data for this. I collected data for the volatile tools (how long they last), but not the morphic/proto tools. If you have data, post away, it would be welcome.
  14. Please post here if you have feedback or corrections for Tip.It's new summoning tables. Tip.It would especially like to thank Crewbie misplacedme for his work on this helpful new feature.
  15. It sounds like what we need is a picture. I did the quest when it first came out, and I only play on Low Detail (and this was back when low detail had no options). I vaguely recall some difficulty finding it as well. If someone wants to take a nice PNG picture, not too big, in low detail, I'd love to add it to the guide.
  16. Name corrected in Magic Guide. Thanks for the effort you put into taking the pictures, that was probably a lot of work. Unfortunately, if the pictures are saved in JPG first and only afterward changed into PNG, the crispness is already lost. :( These pics are also a bit large (dimensions)/ for the guide. Samples: It seems the guide just has one picture for each type (Ice Blood etc), of which Miasmic is one, rather than having each of the 4 spell classes (Rush, Burst, Blitz, Barrage) for each spell type. I do not know what would be best for the guide. We should move this discussion to the main forum, though, since this is really about a guide, not an items database entry. I'll wait until your next post before moving it.
  17. If you do not supply specific changes, it's not much help to us. When Jagex announced the change, we had a crewbie comb through the database and make the changes that were found. Thanks for wanting to help, but a generic post like this only points us in the right direction.
  18. Ha ha, I've had a pic of this sitting on my computer since that was released. Never could decide about adding it. You intrigued the crew, so we are going to do it. Will keep you posted.
  19. lol paw claw you can do better than that, I've seen you write guides. Give us details and we shall do our best to fix em ... but if we have to go into the game to verify stuff, it has to sit a lot longer. :(
  20. SportsGuy if you didn't finish Defender of Varrock, and you train using the beacons (a terrible payback of xp for the logs as far as I know), then aren't you contradicting what the first poster said?
  21. Thanks very much, added and credited!
  22. well, as crewbie wachtwoord stated above, we actually already have a picture of the staff itself on the items record http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2item_id=8039 we had decided that what you meant was pictures of the staff in action, meaning casting a spell, similar to the pictures shown in the Ancient Magicks guide? Is this not what was meant? Or did you mean you want it added to the list of staves in the Magic guide? because I think that got done? (edit: it was added in a separate section, Zuriel's, but I added it to Special Staves as well.) I realise you are new to pictures, and they are a challenge to learn at first. I'll just add the suggestion that if you DO get an action picture, save it as a .PNG file. JPG files from most software are too fuzzy to be used on our website. However, the effort to show what you mean is very much appreciated.
  23. The Bounty Worlds guide http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?p ... worlds.htm has been released. This topic is for user corrections to the guide.
  24. looks like we need a picture to add it. anybody have one, lol? (A .png format would be most welcome!)
  25. Same as last week, lol. Location of Circus: Gnome Stronghold What were you wearing?: absolutely nothing wielded Agility Event Description: no skills performed, did only the assigned emotes Clap, Salute, Goblin Bow, Goblin Salute, Glass Box, Climb Rope, Lean, Glass Wall, Idea, Stomp.
