Varrock and Karamja Achievement Diaries
Welcome to Tip.It forums Speedyshel! Please feel free to come to the Website Updates and Corrections forum any time you find something we should correct. Just make a new post and we will do our best to take care of it. Several people told us to add that note about boosts, but we must have missed it. It's now added, thanks for the reminder!

Tip.It Times Presents: Perspective
I like this. I met a kid who'd been playing since the Very early days of RS (2001 or 2002, whatever. WAAAAYYYY before me.) He was attending a friend's 99 cape party, and having a ball, dancing around, jumping up and down, chatting, enjoying himself, happy for his friend. Then suddenly a sobering thought occurred to him. "I'm sad. All of my friends from those days have 99s. I don't have ANYTHING to show for my time in RS!" So I asked him: "Did you have fun during all that time?" He said yes. I said, "That's really all that matters, isn't it?" He thought it over, and then was happy to agree that it was. Fun is the only thing I want to get from this game. Running a virtual treadmill is meaningless, lol. It's the enjoyment, the friends we make, what we do and how we treat others that is really important.

Some quest difficulty ratings seem strange to me
The hard/medium ratings are typically based on what Jagex labels it. And yes, their ratings are weird. :D And yes, your second strategy is correct - pray (against missiles I think?) and watch where you are walking due to the cranes, those things hit 25-30. I think I was Combat 88 when I did this.

[DONE] SPECIAL CALC: Brimhaven Agility Ticket XP Calc
Found someone with time on his hands and he added it. Look in the lower right corner to see a tick box for Karamja Gloves. When it's checked, adding tickets gets you 10% more xp.

what?!
That would be an American "spade", lol. Next time please use the "help and advice" forum, thanks.

Safari problem with Skill Calculators and Planners
A solution has been identified and modifications have been made to the draft versions. Unfortunately we have to wait until someone can manually upload them to the site. I wish I could say that it will be a matter of days, but I cannot. Hopefully it will get done and you can enjoy our calcs from Safari again.

Oo'glog salt-water pool info should be added to Rc'ing guide
We debated adding this in all the guides where it would be helpful - and decided against it. The people who have done the First Resort quest KNOW about the pool - and the amount of text it would require to explain and link it all over the place would make guides even longer for those people who haven't done the quest. The place where it really belongs, first and foremost, is in the Running and Energy section of the Getting Around guide. So I checked. And it wasn't there, lol. #-o Sooooo - I added it, plus spirit terrorbirds, to the Getting Around Guide. Since dozens of people have requested us to add this to various guides ... I can't really credit. But thanks for the reminder so that it finally got added where it belongs!

Taking a balloon to Varrock
Our Balloon Routes miniquest guide was only just released last week, and we were pretty guiet about it, so do not feel badly. http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?page= ... routes.htm But it would seem from your post that we were remiss about linking it. UPDATE: #-o Yep, we failed to link it. I've updated the quest guide, the getting around guide, and the Varrock diary guide. I credited you in the Varrock diary. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks very much for going to the trouble of writing up the route and letting us know we overlooked it. We need more users like you!!

New Clue- Anagram THEM CALL CAME
A friend of mine also got this clue. I'm wondering if the "ME AM THE CALC" clue was *changed* to this for some reason? It's odd because ... the new one has one too many "L"s in it, ha ha. If someone gets the "me am the calc" clue anytime soon (week or 2), PLEASE POST here and let us know. For now, we'll just add the THEM CALL CAME to the guide. Thanks for posting!

Rocking Out Requirements
You are correct, a lot of people reported this and were disappointed by it, so yeah a note about it belongs in the guide.

MAP: Wilderness map
[hide=crew has data, will appear on upcoming release] A screenshot (any format) would be helpful (both main window and minimap) so that we can get this added. Thanks! Again, a screenie of this would be super helpful! Thanks! Fist of Guthix mini-game icon needs to be added south of Chaos Temple. <!-- m -->http://tip.it/runescape/?page=fist_of_guthix.htm<!-- m --> [/hide]

[DONE] SPECIAL CALC: Brimhaven Agility Ticket XP Calc
(Both our Agility Calculator and Planner have drop-down boxes which allow you to choose the Agility Arena, which then shows the xp with and without gloves.) However, I suspect that you mean the amazing interactive map of the arena, which is reached via a popup in the Agility Guide http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?page= ... .htm#arena and allows you to input the tickets you possess and calculates the xp. For the Crew - look for the Agility Arena Interactive Map under the Atlas section of the crew interface. This is probably best handled by a calculator crewbie (Allbogs or Peter).

FM needs good update, read tifers ideas 5K+ Views!
Oh, forgot two more facts about shade-burning: you get 10xp for putting oil on a log, and ... an additional 10 to 100xp for burning the pyre log (increases from reg pyre logs up to mage pyre logs). http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?page= ... #Pyre_Logs So that's a bit of xp there. And on wishful thinking ... I'd like to be able to burn all those USELESS maple longs (u) in my bank. I mean, they are made of wood, right?! :D

[DONE] Cockroach Soldier
It's very, very difficult to prove that a monster *doesn't* drop something. :( What if it's a 1 in 1000 drop? Whether to change this is up to the Bestiary Crew. Of course we want to get it right. If it were up to me, I'd be asking you to kill a bunch of em and post your drop list. Or possibly other players can confirm your experience - I know that F2P-ers probably kill a *LOT* of these guys.

Construction Tables Correction
Thanks to both of you, these have been fixed! Only recently learned about orange flower/rosemary thing myself while fixing up items database - this was a nomenclature change by Jagex when we weren't looking, heh. But they are mended now. Always feel free to let us know about stuff like this - a pic (any format) from the game is also helpful to confirm. Thanks again!

FM needs good update, read tifers ideas 5K+ Views!
[This post composed before the post above, so please excuse if I missed good stuff!] I've never forgotten a post I read back when the mining helmet (65 fm required) was introduced. The player said "why should I train firemaking? so I can build more expensive fires?!" It was a good point. I did keep training to get to 85 for mage pyres (fiyr shades) - don't forget you get prayer xp from it *as well as* loot from the chests. In fact, vlad the old points out that even if you don't get a key ... the gp you get from cremating a shade is equal to *at least* the hi alch value of a longbow made from that log type. And you get combat xp from killing the shades. I do find the hauling (for pyres) tedious, though. Pyre ships (barbarian training - mith dragons) are the only other high level use for firemaking, so yeah ... it could use some beefing up, like a fire being actually useful for something. I like the ideas posted above: set a fire near your combat, the monster earns 1-5 damage if you drag him through it lol. (but perhaps you should too?) Adding fire to weapons to deal damage like poison - well it starts to sound a lil like a pokemon attack, no offence. :) If you are a glutton for punishment and do the Dorgesh-Kaan light orbs, here's a draft map that I did to show their locations.

CALC & PLANNER: Construction
Wow, thanks for the exhaustive review, it's much appreciated!! The ultimate reliable method for finding xp is to have someone make it in game (not always convenient when talking about something really expensive!) If we lack ingame confirmation we try to go by the materials xp for each one. A wooden plank and nail is around 28.9 xp, oak plank is exactly 60, teak plank is 90, mahogany plank is 140, and so on (see the materials lists in the skill guide http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?page= ... htm#stonem ). So assembling an opulent table depends on the materials used to make it, including gold leaf (300xp), marble block (500xp), and so on. Lvl 1 Crude wooden chair - parlour 58/66 - 2 planks 2 nails @ 28.9 each = 58. I'm at a loss as to why the KB has bumped this up, since the value of a plank/nail stays steady at 28.9 for all other uses. Need someone to make this in game and let us know the xp! Lvl 27 Oak staircase - skill/quest hall, dungeon 600/680 - 10 oak planks @60 each (600) plus 4 steel bars @20 each (80) = 680 (I've changed our construction table) Confirmed need to change Lvl 39 Jester - games room 390/360 - 4 teak planks @90 each indicates 360 which matches our Construction Table http://tip.it/runescape/construction_ta ... Games+room Confirmed need to change Lvl 45 Steel torches - chapel 80/40 - 2 steel bars @20 each indicates 40 which matches our Construction Table http://tip.it/runescape/construction_ta ... ble=Chapel Confirmed need to change Lvl 60 Posh bell-pull - dining room 390/420 - 1 teak plank @90 plus 2 cloth@15 each (30 total) plus 1 gold leaf @300 = 420 (I've changed our construction table) Confirmed need to change Lvl 66 Crystal of power - study 590/890 - 2 mahogany planks @140 each (280 total) plus 1 unpowered orb (?? no idea) plus 2 gold leaf @300 each (600 total) = min 880 ((I've changed our construction table) Confirmed need to change Lvl 69 Marble burners - chapel 1600/1040 - 2 marble blocks @500 each (1000 total) plus 2 steel bars @20 each (40 total) = 1040 (I've changed our construction table) Confirmed need to change Lvl 71 Daffodils - 70/100 - no way to verify except to plant them in game. As you noted there are other plants that are in error, no telling if the error is just in the KB or also in the game. :( Lvl 81 Gilded throne - throne room 1800/1700 - 5 mahogany planks @ 140 each (700 total) plus 2 marble blocks @500 each (1000 total) plus 3 gold leaf @300 each (900 total) = 2600 ?? whoa no clue what to do here

CALC & PLANNER: Construction
apologies for the links, forum is still a bit chaotic due to the reset. Right now we like for people to create new topics for each issue. I have confirmed your concerns so our calculator/planner guy can do his magic: 1. On the "ALL" list for *both* the planner *and* the calculator, the 360xp for the Square shield is erroneously copied down one and thus everything below it is off by one (I used the Gilded Throne 1800 as a check.) 2. On the "ALL" list, the wardrobes for the costume room (several have the same name as the bedroom ones) are not listed though the bedroom ones are: http://tip.it/runescape/construction_ta ... ection=ASC Bedroom: Oak Wardrobe 39 - 180 Teak Wardrobe 63 - 270 Mahogany Wardrobe 75 - 420 Gilded Wardrobe 87 - 720 http://tip.it/runescape/construction_ta ... ection=ASC Costume Room: Oak wardrobe 42 - 240 Carved oak wardrobe 51 - 360 Teak wardrobe 60 - 360 Carved teak wardrobe 69 - 500 Mahogany wardrobe 78 - 540 Gilded wardrobe 87 - 860 Marble wardrobe 96 - 500 3. I didn't check which other costume room items might be missing from the "All" list. 4. Additionally, the Construction Planner does not have a link back to the calculator. ;)

Tip.It Times Presents: A Whole New World
As everyone has said, super read, very well-written! Good parallels between those nostalgic first days in the game and the new graphics. I'm playing in my usual low detail, but now I have the option to turn on *some* (old) high detail features without messing up my game (like roofs), so I am seeing everything in a new way myself. The lagging, the glitches ... I have confidence that these things will be resolved as time goes by. Kudos to Jagex for this update, and thanks to foodfight for a great article!

Disk of Returning
Um. Do you actually own this item? Jagex generally only capitalises the first letter of any item name, even if later there is a proper noun. Maybe that's just in RS2. But I'd need someone to show me a pic of it. Getting a pic of the examine at the same time would be great, that would let us confirm which name is correct.
