General Guide: Getting Around
When the Trawler sinks you no longer end up near Port Sarim ... you are put ashore back at Port Khazard. It may be good to state that this has 'changed' rather than removing it altogether, in case someone is looking for it specifically.

treasure trials
Thanks SO MUCH to both of you! I've "snuck" the picture onto the site as is, and made a note in the Treasure Trails topic (in the locked forum) to add credits for both of you in the next update to the guide. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=5048755#5048755 YOU ROCK!! :D :D

Mini-Games: Treasure Trails
New map for goblin village has been snuck onto the site. It needs to be re-dimensioned and credit given to sophia1900 (for the pic) and foo911 (for cropping and reducing it to the size needed for the guide). Thanks.

~~~70 Uses for a Coconut!!! YES ITS HERE!! OMG!~~~
Dusty668, thanks for an entertaining read. Not only did I laugh out loud, I also shared several entertaining tidbits with my son, lol. (Kudos to the intelligent and self-restrained user who reported it and did not post, avoiding bumping it up. We need more users like you!) I have to lock this topic because it's not appropriate for the guides forum, but I wish/hope there is a place in the Varrock Library or elsewhere for comedy like this, it gave me a laugh.
treasure trials
YAY! Several players posted when they got the clue that the village had changed, but the map clue had not yet been changed to match. Is there anyone out there who can edit this up and shrink it to match the dimensions and filesize of the usual TT map clues? That would be SO great! Thanks for snapping the new clue!
Mistake in Castle Wars guide
posted items in that db, need added to cw draft. EDIT: done, should be released shortly.
Mini Games: Castle Wars
Jesant13's earlier submission there of a replacement pic is what got me started in the first place, but thanks. I merged those two topics and put my final questions there. Hoping someone will be willing to make 40x40 gifs of the items (will also put in database), as well as answer my question about butterflies (in response to a very old submission).
Mistake in Castle Wars guide
Jesant13, thanks so much for providing the new picture! I've added it to the guide and am in process of also adding the comments that people have provided. However, since I don't play, I'm not qualified to judge some strategy points. I've fixed all the bandage references, clarified the floor levels, noted the 0 xp for attacking barricades, and mentioned staff of Iban (god item). Someone wrote back in December about using (hunter) butterflies on teammates, but I don't know if those are still allowed in the game? If someone could confirm, that would be great. Mc90123, thanks also for posting. I merged your topic here since it's the same thing, and Jesant13 has already supplied the picture. I'd also love to get 40x40 transparent GIFs of the CW items if anyone feels like making them. :D
Mini Games: Castle Wars
I can't find any reference to the stairs thing in the guide, so I'll assume this was just something people used to do. Added the zero xp thing. Added the new pic someone supplied. Checking for more posts before finishing up.
General Guide: Ghostly Robes
All added to 4 Aug draft, should be released soon.
ranged guide, missing a few pics and info
The only thing [bleep]ed vambraces offer (besides looks) is a +2 strength bonus. This has no effect on ranged, which is why it may not be in the guide (I didn't check). However, they are already listed in both the crafting guide and the hunting guide. Please try a search and you'll quickly find them. The dragon darts do need to be added.
Clue Corrections?
I can't update the Help and advice sticky to point to the new Website Updates forum because I don't have privileges there. So I updated the target's target (lol) to point users to the new Website Updates forum. Hopefully a moderator can fix the H&A sticky to really resolve this one.
Getting Around Guide: New respawn point (Camelot)
Die and find out for us, Ginger_Warrior. :twisted: All indicators are that the respawn is only changed by talking to Merlin and only after finishing the Knights.
Cleaning up Player Made Guides
The stickies in Player Made Guides are meant to be limited to forum rules, writing guidelines, and guides that have not yet been covered by the Website. Quite a few people contact me for help with Enchanted Journey, and I'm happy to direct them to the sticky. Unfortunately, the markings in the stickied balloon pictures are approximate and not quite precisely placed, so in some places it's hard to tell which action is correct. Everyone who's used it reports a few crashes using the guide. So, it's the very BEST that we've GOT, but not reliable enough for the website. I have 20MB of pictures that vmser kindly took, showing the balloon placement at each step along the way. Unfortunately, I have no image software that can process and combine those into something usable on the website. If someone volunteers for this project, I'll be glad to pass on the files, but in the meantime we are rather stuck. Similarly, the current website guide to the Sorceress's Garden was never intended to remain the skeleton that it is. There was an expectation of supplying more details to get players to the centre of each garden. Unfortunately, a following Jagex update grabbed the Crew's efforts away from this. And again, unfortunately, website-ready information is not available in the stickied guides, though they are of some use to some players. I have some hopes that a Crewbie will pick up this effort and get something useful onto the website for this mini game. The Knight's Training Ground is stickied until final information can be added to the quest guide. I do understand why the stickies area might seem congested. The moderators have the final say, of course. I'm just providing the rationale for these stickies.
Treasure Trail: Jagex's remodeling
Um, our Treasure Trail locator is unfortunately still using a *very* old version of the world map - this can be observed by entering coordinates towards the map edges where new cities are missing, such as the Fremennik Isles, Harmony Island, etc. The complexities of piecing together this map are way over my head, but our mappers and coding staff have it on their "to-do" list. In the meantime, as someone stated, use it as a general guideline and then rely on your sextant to find the exact spot.
Knights Waves Training ground! made easy for lvl 100-
I brought a 4-dose super set and 3 super restores (I only used one. I didn't have any regular restores, lol). DDS, D scimmy, Abyssal whip, and Dmace. Neitiznot helm, Rune plate, D skirt, rune boots, barrows gloves, rune kite, glory, ring of recoil. Lots of tuna potatoes and sharks. For perspective, I'm combat 99 (78/79/79). I sipped all my supers after I went in (in retrospect, should have done that first!) and so I had some nice stats. When they hit me I fell down to normal stats ... and after a few sips of super restore I realised it wasn't what I needed. So I focused on keeping my stats up with the super set instead. But maybe that only worked for me because I didn't get hit much my 2nd time through. I brought a D mace, and its crush attacks seemed to work well on Sir Kay and Sir Lucan, no idea if that is really reliable or not. I did start off with the DDS special on each one, and several of them took poison damage. Some of them seemed to be hit better by the DDS than other weapons ... I kind of ended up randomly changing weapons if I felt like they weren't working, lol. I didn't know about the hiding thing so I didn't do it. My first time in I only brought monkfish, and no recoil ring, but I made it to Lancelot before I ran out of food.
Treasure trail correction
If anyone can provide a pic of this clue, that would be SO helpful. Thanks mchainmail for letting us know!
Fairy Rings
mchainmail is correct, this is listed on the map page text as a "one way" portal. If you FIND the code please do not hesitate to submit the new code and we'll be happy to add it.
YOU GUYS MISSED A RANDOM ON YOUR GUIDE ON MAIN PAGE
The Mr. Mordaut classroom random is listed under Mysterious Old Man (as he is the one who transports you) and the guide was released Sat Jul 21, 2007.
Cutting shilo gems, crushed = xp
XP for crushing gems was only recently added/discovered. Unfortunately it's difficult to get good xp data on it since one can't get a number of them in a row, and it's easy to be deceived about the fractional (decimal) xp. We're working on it, additional data is appreciated.
The New Random Event: Mr Mordaut's Classroom
Cooking guide...no burn levels...
book_of_metal is correct, the cooking guide specifically states that you will burn less of anything on a range versus a fire. And yes, no burn level GUIDELINES for some fish are listed at the bottom of the cooking guide. We have come close in the past to ripping this data out of the guide completely, because people continually write in stating that their experience differs by one level. The trouble is that we can't base our guides on ONE person's experience - the number has to apply to MOST people, for hundreds of fish. So I rather need at least 10 but preferable 20 to 100 people with 99 FM to write in stating that they don't burn sharks on a range when their cape is activated. And then if we thought the stop burn level was lower, I'd need dozens of people at those levels to post. I realise that Jmods have at various times posted on the cooking skill cape / sharks question - unfortunately Jmods have a tendency to contradict each other, and due to your question I checked today and there is still nothing in the Knowledge Base to state the effect of cooking skill cape. :( The only reason our guide states that cooking gauntlets reduce the burn rate on monkfish 2.5% is because a TIF admin cooked literally THOUSANDS of monkfish from level 85 to level 99 cooking and kept the data to prove it. That's the kind of info we use to write our guides. Thanks though for wanting to share your experience.
