  1. I'll be collecting xp and skills info about the update in this post for reference. Tip.It's Bestiary Crew is collecting DROP and MONSTER info here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=673617 Please post in that topic if you wish to receive credit. Barbarian Training Jagex KB: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... cle_id=197 Ancient Cavern - MITH DRAGONS and more: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... cle_id=195 Barbarian Potions - HERBLORE: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... cle_id=194 Barbarian FISHING: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... cle_id=196 SMITHING - spears and hastas: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... cle_id=198 FIREMAKING, Crafting and PRAYER: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... cle_id=193 It seems you must do some of the training before jumping into the whirlpool where the mith dragons are ... else you get hit for 11 (10?) HP. mith drags drop 3 mith bars 100% brutal greens drop 2 green hides 100%
  2. Moved to Monsters (etc) PMG forum on request. Please make sure your new pictures are either original screenies you've made in game, or are directly from the Tip.It website (and clearly say so) ... pictures from other fansites (or from the Jagex website) are not allowed, and the one below looks eerily familiar to me. I hope I'm mistaken, my apologies if it's original.
  3. Yikes, that was on my "to do" list. Fixing now. EDIT: done!
  4. Thanks for wanting to help, and thanks to the other posters who clarified it. Locking.
  5. Please submit the information if possible. Thanks.
  6. I see Pete most often at Castle Wars, and I have NO idea why. He explains his visits to Party Pete (seers) and Parrotty Pete (Ardy Zoo) and Pirate Pete (north of Port Phasmatys) (and even Prison Pete random!) by saying they are his brothers or cousins or whatever (I can't remember >.<) ... so by extension any NPC named Pete is likely to be visited. The only other NPC Pete I know of is 'Picarron' Pete (Pirates Cove on the Lady Zay ship taking you to Lunar Isle). Dunno if he is a relative or not. I would like to see more screenies of things Postie Pete says. For some reason I kept seeing Neite (Bob the cat's GF) in a house in southeast Sophanem. That was a few weeks ago, hopefully she's escaped by now.
  7. Thanks VERY much for the level info - I would not have known. I haven't earned any xp for repairing my gloves ... have any of you? I'd like to know for the guide. Here is what I know so far. The operate (or check) function say this: And follow with a status message: These gloves are new. These gloves are in good condition. These gloves are starting to look quite shabby. These gloves are starting to need repair. These gloves are in need of repair! These gloves are about to fall apart! If you do not repair them at that point, your next pick will yield: And they vanish. Gloves still in your bank are unaffected, tho their status does not show as new until you start using them (a glitch presumably).
  8. Moving to Suggestions, if it's a duplicate please report it and a mod there will lock it.
  9. Thanks for all the drop information, it's appreciated. For the record, it's most helpful if you make a new post rather than updating your old one. For two simple reasons: there is a time delay between when we add your comments and the guide is released, and because we remove your old posts at the new release. So we won't know what stuff you are posting has already been included, and that kinda makes more work for us. If you really have your heart set on it, you can add them to your old post in a different colour, but I really suggest a new post. Thanks.
  10. Actually the large chunk of smileys we currently have are due to our Forum Admin graciously consenting to add some good smileys that we were formerly missing. I have to agree that the violin one isn't all that useful (or used) {plus it messes up the spacing in the list lol - sshhhh!} I'd like a smiley for >.< (we have a laughing one, this would be an upset one). There's another smiley I want, but I can't think of it right now, lol. >.<
  11. I think I agree with Errdoth. Someone who wants to give us feedback should be someone who has something serious to say and knows their way around. It's too true that people who are new to a forum will post in the first board they see, lol. And even as "buried" as these three boards are (forum discussion, website corrections and website discussion), we still have people come in here every week and say "there's a bad ad on the site!" and "why can't my sig be bigger!" and other repeat topics. So ... yeah. I wish we had more regular participation and quality corrections from long time forum users in Website Corrections, but hopefully someday we'll be able to improve turnaround on making changes and that might encourage people more.
  12. I like the idea, but I can see a few problems implementing it. There is no doubt that people like Eeeeediot, Ks_Jeppe, and Kiara_Kat contributed HEAVILY to the Tip.It website. How do we decide who does or does not deserve the reward, and how do we explain that? If someone is asked to leave the staff due to prolonged inactivity or worse, inappropriate behaviour, that is generally not made public - it's a private thing between the admins and staffer. Should that staffer have to deal with people asking "why don't you have the special avatar?" The other thing is that any "official" recognition of someone implies that they are representing Tip.It. So if a former staffer with a recognition avatar posts inappropriately in the forum (maybe having a bad day), does that make Tip.It look bad? This is the reason Another RS Fansite didn't have a "former staffer" rank, anyway. I appreciate and agree with the sentiment, and I value the contributions of those folks. That's why they are listed on the website. I'm just saying that anything further can get complicated.
  13. TIF mod LordBaer advises that the Mithril grapple *DOES* work with the Hunter crossbow. This has some far-reaching implications to other guides, namely Agility as well as the items db.
  14. "Thanks for the Memory" was Bob Hope's theme song well before any of us were born (even me!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanks_for_the_Memory - - 1938 ftw?
  15. Sorry to see you go , but as others have said I'm glad it's for the right reasons. Sometimes it takes something trivial (like a hard drive crash) to make us notice what we've been missing. I look forward to your return, and again as others have said: don't give away your stuff. (Keep it so you'll be a gazillionaire when you come back to visit, lol!) Savor real life - it is sweeter than all 99's!
  16. Vlad_the_old ran glove tests: Fails: Karamja gloves, dragonhide vambraces, ice gloves, barrows (Did not test gauntlets, which are defined as metal: family crest, klank's) Succeeds: penance gloves (from Barbarian Assault), Gloves of silence (thieving), leather gloves By the way, failing with the wrong gloves (or bare-handed) earns a nasty hit: around -15 for my first try (I have 80 hp), then -10 for my second, etc.
  17. Was just looking for a place to post this in the General forum. Tip.It used to have a sticky of F2P high scores that was maintained manually, but the author quit and it was quite difficult to do. The staff deleted the sticky as it was out of date, rather than finding someone to take over. :( Most of the topic responses merely consisted of "here's where I am" which wasn't really much in the way of discussion. HOWEVER, I'd like to make some type of permanent post telling people where they can go see it (realising of course that it's not on our site and we don't normally send people elsewhere ...) F2P High Scores List This list is considered authoritative by most websites as it's too much work to repeat it everywhere, lol.
  18. Comments received elsewhere that need to be evaluated.
  19. Wow, thanks for the pics! Unfortunately, transparent background PNG format images don't work with Internet Explorer :( - they show all white or something. When someone can, changing these into transparent GIFs will get them into the guide. And if you make them 40x40, we can put them in the items database as well (assuming the pics there are not transparent). Thanks for taking the time to submit pics!
  20. Nice job guys. I'd steal it for the official guide but the Crew has already made one. Thanks though for your initiative in helping other players!
  21. Since you joined on the 24 of May 2007 and thus have been with Tip.It about a week, I can see that you've certainly had the time to learn all about how Tip.It forums work, what our moderators do, what our users are like and who our target audience is. Imagine the temerity of people who've been with this forum for years, thinking they might know better than you! You would immediately know, of course, about the *dozens* of threads that are posted each month when someone who's just signed up asks for the sig or avatar limits to be changed, even though they were just extended for everyone a few months ago. And it's certainly important to ignore the most basic rules of netiquette (you are supposedly old enough to know them, as they date from the days of USENET), which state that when one is new to a group, one should lurk and read and become familiar with board rules and content and conventions before assuming that everyone will want to hear your pearls of wisdom.

Ground Floor, Cleaning On the ground floor you will need to clean off specimen rocks to uncover artifacts. The workroom is on the south side of the museum. You will need to have completed the Dig Site Quest and will need tools (which are available from the tool rack on the southern wall of the workroom). Once you have your tools and are wearing your leather boots and gloves walk over to the specimen rock pile and take a specimen. Use the specimen on the specimen table until it is clean and then talk to the archeologist using the 'I found something interesting.' option. The archeologist will tell you what to do with it. You are looking for the five artifacts (each worth 10 Kudos) listed below, although some of the other artifacts can get you gp or items from the storage crate. Also, you can find a cleaned ruby necklace. Show it to an archeologist and it will unlock a ruby necklace enchantment spell. An enchanted ruby necklace will teleport you to the new Dig Site (not released yet). Display 22: Pottery. Obtained by cleaning. Display 36: Old symbol (Silver and Sapphire Altar Decoration). 23. Post as it stands. [hide] [/hide]
  24. I was trying to figure out if the effect was every time you used the staff or what - you've stated it is only the first hit. I assume it's 100% of the time on the first hit. Let me know if it can miss, ok? Wait, this can't be quite right, as darkblade states above the effects are cumulative. So it's possible for it to happen more than once. Please, someone tell me: does it happen for EACH TIME YOU CAST THE SPELL USING THE STAFF, OR DOES IT *SOMETIMES* HAPPEN AND *SOMETIMES* DOESN'T? Thanks to anyone who can help.
