Latin Soldier Translations
Sorry, I said Gallery and I meant the Library forum (where people's writings ... stuffs ... are). My bad.

Latin Soldier Translations
 I didn't know they spoke Latin, and I was playing the game when the town was introduced. Have they always? :-k I think we may have to add a separate category for this type of amusing/interesting thing that doesn't fall into the usual "guide" category - I wouldn't mind indexing these. Wonder if it would fit in the Gallery, with an Index here?

How to write very bad guides. 5K VIEWS!!!@ONEON
I'll give it a ten if you add something about people who just joined TIF yesterday, have NO idea what a good guide contains because they've never read any guides in the AOW or in this forum, and post FIVE of this type of "bad guide" on the same day, seeking instant fame? Oh, and don't forget to identify guides copied word for word (including misspellings) from guides written by other people on the RS forums or other websites, and claiming them as one's own work. I especially like "the most bad guide" ending sentence, instead of "the worst" - drives home the point, lol. And no, to you AOW-ers, I can't keep this topic open forever, but ... for a little while. ;) It made me smile, :D I've been wishing I could write this myself. :-w

Atlas: Mining sites
I actually went down there and found 12 rocks, lol - two on the map are not marked as being mine-able at all. Hopefully it will get straightened out as we are adding markers for the Dorgesh-Kaan gate.

Chris's Guide to Trouble Brewing
I may have missed the part where you say that before you repair stuff that's on fire, you need to use water to put it out? Also please post good info in the Website Updates and Corrections Trouble Brewing topic, so we can fix up or augment the guide as needed. Your strategy section would be a good addition to the guide, especially the lecture about water.

The adventurer's guide to killing quest bosses
I like the idea - you'll get no argument from me that many guides (on many fansites) do not give enough info on the final fights. When the quest was first released, the guides for Monkey Madness specified that he could hit you for 25-30, but somehow over time some good info has disappeared (at least from Another Fansite, not Tip.It). However, there are a few difficulties with the way you are executing your concept. It's important to focus on the information that is common to everyone, because different approaches work for different players depending on their skill levels and available equipment. I think one problem with new player-made quest guides is they tend to be written by higher level players - I can't tell you how many times I've had to ask that "weapon and armour" be added to a guide written by a level 115 who can basically walk into any situation with absolutely no equipment and still walk away alive, lol. At any rate, my first point is to focus on what the monster does and his characteristics, which can also be hard to figure out. I've read that the Jungle Demon from MM has high magic defence - no idea where that info came from nor whether it's correct. That's something one learns from reading many posts from many players. When I fought him my range level was pathetic, probably 38 or 40 - so I used quite a few prayer potions to keep my protection up as I plinked away at him with my lousy mithril arrows, lol. I'm surprised now that he didn't leave out of sheer boredom (as Koschei the deathless later did to me - 3 times!) I recall that the Slug Prince from Slug Menace turned out to be 100% immune to range and magic attacks, with an actual Jagex message popping up on the screen, but the first people who did the quest just meleed him so it wasn't well-known. That info got added to the guide. The Crew is always eager to add UNIVERSAL information on monster fights to the guides. Even some really common strategies that work. But it's hard to sort out stuff that will work for MOST players from stuff that worked for the unique skills of the person posting it. Kinda need to know what skills you had at the time, etc. And that's another tidbit - you've no idea how many people still think you can safespot Damis (of Desert Treasure) from behind a torch that Jagex took out over 18 months ago. Yeah, the age of info is a continuing problem. So. I like your idea. I like the group participation. Sorting the wheat from the chaff is going to be an issue, and separating out the characteristics of the MONSTER's attack and defence from a good player attack/defence strategy is difficult. Generic info such as "jungle demon attacks with both mage and melee and can hit you for 25-30 damage; it is well-defended against magic", "wear range armour and pray against melee" and "attack monster using range" is what I'd want to see/use, rather than a lengthy list of possibly equipment tradeoffs. If you can start each monster section with those three things summarised (the monster's combat/defence characteristics, the best player defence, the best player attack), I'd be happy. I'll be keeping an eye on this topic.

Register
I checked with the Forum Admin and he'd stated that he had temporarily disabled registrations. It's gone on longer than expected, but it's a deliberate setting by the Admin (in order to allow some other work) and I'm certain it will be enabled again as soon as it is practical. An admin may post here with further info - I'm just sharing what I know. Sorry about the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.

Guide To Making desktop Shortcuts to runescape worlds
With the world changing page that Jagex has implemented I'm not sure there's a need for this any more.

The ultimate Wise Old Man minigame guide, updated:8-28-07
I really like this guide, it's a subject that hasn't been addressed and I've been curious about it! Yay!! Please do continue to make changes (even if they are one at a time) to collect as much information as possible. Most importantly, please get someone to help you with the English grammar and spelling to get this guide into super shape - it needs a lot of improvement in that area. (Yes I realise you are Dutch - no offence intended ;).) Check with me if you need anything.

Skill Guide: Construction
Okay, I never seem to have gotten a straight answer on this one. How many trips does each servant make before asking to be paid? And what does this bring your cost/log to? I'm *hoping* that's what your 5.035gp/xp means, but I hafta ask to be sure. ;-) And are the number of trips per payday different for the different servants? (yes, I know they carry different amounts, lol) EDIT: whoops, just found quantumkik's earlier post about the human butler (level 40):

Spicy Stew Guide with Statistics
I'm liking this guide as it's about an interesting subject that NOBODY has looked at - big bonus points for that!! It also has good organisation (I suggest putting a note in the first post stating that a second post covers statistical/analytical details?) I have only one qualm. Your analysis is mostly theoretical and not empirical - meaning the majority of the info has not been actually tested in game (doing stews until you finally get the result you wanted.) One Crewbie I know made 100 stews trying to get a construction result - I'll try to ask him to check out this thread. I'll be keeping my eye on this topic, it's very promising. \

* Add image to post.
It displays actual size if your picture is not too large. Sorry I have no data on what the limits are (filesize or widthxheight?), but I have had pics show full size. ;-)

Minimuim Word requirement for Player-Made guides forum
It would help if people wouldn't REPLY to poor guides like that, but just report them. Replying only bumps them up and keeps them on the front page longer. Thanks for being involved with the PMG forum, it's nice to know people care about it.

~~OFFICIAL WORLDS GUIDE~~
Okay, a very kind user supplied a link to an RS forums thread (though I assume there is more than one). http://forum.[Please Use QuickFind Code].ws?18,19,558,38973634 This doesn't seem to be identical to that one ... so I'm assuming there's yet another one. I really need someone to write an ORIGINAL guide (using your OWN WORDS) listing official worlds. Official worlds should NOT be worlds that a guide author makes up or arbitrarily assigns, but worlds that players are ALREADY flocking to in order to do a specific RS activity. Clan worlds are not of general interest so they should be omitted (no offense but if it's your clan's you don't want other people there, right?) I've bumped NukeMarine's worlds guide and asked for it to be moved to this forum. He HAS given permission for someone to take over updating it. But I don't want a million people doing it, and I want someone who's a qualified guide writer who will also maintain it. So ... we'll see, I suppose. Sorry I'm unclear, brain a bit foggy this a.m. >.<

Posting Real Life Pictures
*** Disclaimer: the opinions expressed here are my own and do not represent Tip.It *** By us making a site and having it be allowed on the forum as a thread, I don't understand how you're saying that's giving the admins a workload of any sorts. It's in our hands, we just need the word to get out by allowing a thread on it. It's not an issue of wanting to see people badly. It's an issue of debate really. I think it would be fun to see who I've been talking with for all these years obviously, but for the most part I'm debating this out of disagreeing principle. Perhaps you are wasting a lot of people's time by trying to continue this argument after it's over. The admins have already officially responded, and stated that their decision is final. Continuing at this point just seems like y'all are hoping to needle the admins into changing their minds, like you would your parents. Go set up a debate in the debate forum and get each other riled up. This forum is to discuss issues with the forum admins. This issue has been discussed and addressed. The decision has been made. Move on, please. *** Disclaimer: the opinions expressed here are my own and do not represent Tip.It ***

Posting Real Life Pictures
It hardly makes sense to help you link to such a site when Tip.It doesn't want to be responsible for you doing this in the first place.

The Abyss: A complete runecrafting guide (AoW Disccusion)
My congrats too on being added to the AOW. Good job mentioning the alternate abyss as a great way to get pouches. Without the risk of PKers, no prayer drain, and being single combat, it's a great place to work for the drops. I would add however that there are Abyssal demons there. They are non-aggressive towards anyone without the slayer level to kill them. No big deal, just FYI.

Signature rules need adjustment
*** DISCLAIMER: the opinions expressed here are my own and do not represent Tip.It *** I always thought your quote "I would rather die fighting for what I believe in, than live for anything else" is quite stirring and uplifting. I was a bit worried that someone was arbitrarily censoring something. So after reading this topic, I went and looked up Vikernes since I'd never heard of him. Apparently fighting for what he believes in involves setting fire to houses of worship that he does not endorse. :( Um, that's considered a hate crime in the USA, over and above the crime of arson. The Wikipedia article tries to be fair to him, stating that he believes people should be proud of their heritage and remember their roots, including the traditional pantheist religious beliefs in his country. That's admirable, and I'm one of many who view the historical crushing of other religions as shameful. However, what Vikernes encourages doing about it isn't. (The article states that while he was never convicted of the arson, he made statements approving it.) I think if you quoted the fellow about music, or girls, or something else, that it wouldn't be considered any more offensive than any other sig. But given the hate crime that he endorses, "fighting" for what he believes in gives an ugly flavor to what otherwise sounds like an admirable quote. Other people were mentioned by posters, so let's take a look at them. Gary Glitter, musician and convicted pedophile: I think saying "Hey!" (from his song) would be fine, but a remark about minor children wouldn't be. Adolf H: Very few quotes would be viewed as appropriate, if any. I'm reminded of a quote from WW2 tyrant Josef Stalin: "Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything." See, that quote doesn't make him appear to be any type of hero - it shows the type of person he was. *** DISCLAIMER: the opinions expressed here are my own and do not represent Tip.It ***

HELP WITH MIME EVENT PLZ!!!!!!!!!
When the mime event was new, people thought that training on Shadow Warriors in the Legends Dungeon would generate it. I think I trained 40K of defence down there and got one, but then nothing for the next 16 months. Leo the Gravedigger is practically my boyfriend (I bury a lot of bones, lol), but I only got my first two Freaky Forester events two months ago (I think I was standing in a bank idle both times). People have *said* (and again, I don't know if this is true) that you should "act like a macroer" to improve chances of getting a random ... meaning don't talk and move, just do the minimum for whatever you are training. I normally move and click camera angle keys to keep from being autologged out, so it's a hard habit to break. I'm not saying any of this will help you - as others posted, ultimately the randoms are ... random and there's nothing you can do except wait for your luck to turn. Sorry man.

Please set a minimum font size?
"Mr." Devnull. Take a hint: I recommend setting a goal for yourself of not posting in the Forum Discussion board for at least a month, unless the forums are actually on fire. Sorry for my tone, but ... jeez.

~~OFFICIAL WORLDS GUIDE~~
NukeMarine is currently overseas and has stated that he cannot maintain his guide right now, so it's okay for someone to assume responsibility. Whoops. Who is the author of the RS forums guide? This Tip.It forum does not allow posting of other people's guides. I'm going to have to lock this topic until someone can provide appropriate information. Please PM me with a link/finder code to the RS forum guide? Thanks.
