  1. Excuse me if you already know this. The Workshop does offer some crafting xp, although not much. See Tip.It's Crafting guide http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?p ... #clockwork Quick summary: Crafting levels 1-85 required, 15-80 xp earned. (Crafting 33 earns 35 xp.) Most of these require a steel bar and a plank. Additional Crafting xp is earned painting helms and shields and crafting banners on the pluming/easel heraldry stand. Again, the xp is not much: Craft lvls 38-48 required, 37-42 xp earned. Painting rune is not recommended if training, as the paint cannot be removed nor painted over. AND the item becomes untradeable, I've been told. :(
  2. Okay, the cooking gauntlets were originally specified for burning fewer lobbies and swordies (can't recall if sharks). People are still comparing test results on Monkfish, I don't have an authoritative answer yet. However, tests HAVE been conducted on the Lumbridge range. Evidently, the cooking boost is intended for fresh-off-Tutorial-Island noobs. The purpose is to ease their frustration while gaining cooking levels, so they can get enough to restore HP without wanting to quit the game. The Lumbridge range boost does not apply to higher level cooking items, and especially does not seem to apply to fish (for those of us who gave up our cooking gauntlets due to other pressing needs, lol). I believe that Chef's hat and white apron have previously been demonstrated to have no effect (other than hat getting you into Chef's Guild). If that has been changed, please post test results here (or in Website Updates/Corrections forum) so we can all learn. ;)
  3. Darts: 15 per bar instead of 5 knives. Disadvantage: needs feathers (advantage: fletching xp). Yes they can be picked up like knives. In another forum I've recently read a debate on this very subject. Hardly any players use darts, which would seem to indicate they are not as good. It's a matter of personal preference, really. Some feel they are slightly faster than knives, others say no. One person said they seem to poison the enemy slightly faster (assuming you've applied poison). Many say the aggravation of accumulating feathers makes it too frustrating (though you'd do the same if making arrows, of course). Finally, to make darts you must have completed the Tourist Trap quest.

Leaving it in bank doesn't affect how much it likes you. However, I do not know about lazy cats (which were added to the game with the rat pits). MrsChrystler's Guide is considered authoritative, and she has given her kind permission for us to add info from it to Tip.It's guide. That revision is in work right now.
  5. Gem cutting service tip: keep a supply of cut gems in your bank, so that you can trade cut gems for uncuts. When you cut theirs, you'll have more, so you can trade again. This avoids that whole "trust" issue and works well.
  6. The second function of the Druid pouch items is that it makes attacking Ghasts solid so that you can fight them back. Since killing a ghast gives 30 prayer xp each, some people find that good training. If fighting ghasts, remember you can recharge your prayer in the Nature Spirit grotto (gives a +2 prayer bonus also.)
  7. It's level 1 so anyone can mine it. Then use a Chisel on it (6.5 crafting xp I believe) to make it into a Limestone brick suitable for Construction. It's located on the road east of Varrock, east of the Earth altar (there's a member gate in the fence). Follow the curvy road. The mine is on the north side. If you get all the way to the Priest in Peril temple, you've gone too far.
  8. The conclusion thus far is that there is no difference between the teleport focus and the greater focus, except for looks. Additionally, you do not need to RETAIN the focus once you've used it on your portals - they function independently once charged. You can rip out the focus and put in a scrying thingie at your convenience. You'd only need runes again if you wanted to focus a portal on a new location. (Not sure if you can re-focus an old portal, or if you have to tear it out and make a new one, though.) Hope this helps.
  9. You aren't saying you were banned, so I'm taking your post at face value. Don't know if you were playing in May, but Jagex locked a large number of accounts to protect them due to a potential fansite hacking and people using the same user name and password on the fansite and on RS. Many people had to appeal 4-6 times to get their account unlocked. Hopefully you know your recovery questions. If you are a member, include the detailed information from your monthly payment e-mails, as that goes a LONG way towards convincing them that you are the real account owner. Some people went to the effort of listing items in their bank that strangers wouldn't know, such as the color of your kitten, etc, but I do not know how well that actually worked. Good luck.
  10. I suggest trying The Gallery forum for graphics related info & experts. http://forum.tip.it/viewforum.php?f=16 Make sure you tell them you started over here, so they don't send you back to us. Lol.
  11. Yeah, the Burthorpe guy won't replace an assignment that he might give himself. The bright side is that means these creatures are pretty easy to kill. My son went out there with almost no supplies and wiped em out handily, and that was before they added the lowest level lizards to the eligibility. A coupla waterskins and a knife (so you can cut Kharidian cactus to refill them - though not all cacti in desert will work) are good to have. As Adam007 stated, you get lizards all the way down to their lowest hp and *then* use the ice cooler to finish them off. I wouldn't waste cannon ammo on them, but that is your decision. Good luck.
  12. Okay, there's three items under discussion here. One is the lever, which you've successfully built. Second is the "Floor" hotspot in the Throne room. You need to build either a Steel cage, Trapdoor (floor), Lesser magic cage, or Greater magic cage. This is the "trap" that gets your visitors when you activate the lever. Third is an item meant exclusively for an Oubliette (a little mini-dungeon room just to have a place to drop people, lol). If you build an Oubliette, and drop people into it, they need a way to get back out. There's a third hotspot called Trapdoor (not to be confused with the Floor's trapdoor, ugh) which is on the other side of the thrones, opposite the lever. A player who eventually escapes the caged area of the Oubliette climbs a ladder to get back up through this to the throne room. Hope this helps.
  13. Dunno how many hours it lasts ... if it's like the bow, it's 1000 hits or something? At 2/10, it isn't much of a shield at all, and definitely doesn't beat out a D shield. A friend just "got rid of" his 2/10 by using it at Pest Control. As a 10/10 it's a much better shield. The deterioration count stays with the player, not the item, so many archers use two bows: one to stay at 10/10, keeping an approximate count of shots, then switching to the other "use up" bow to take the deterioration (to 9/10 and so on), then back to the 10/10 bow. This way they always have a fully-powered bow which is terribly effective, and just pay to re-charge the second one whose performance continues to decline. Jagex does not consider this bug abuse as far as I know. Don't forget to take the crystal seed to ILFEEN for recharging (NOT to Eluned who sells them new nor Islywn his sister). Lotta people accidentally end up with another 900K or 750K item that way! Check the map for locations. Hope this helps a bit.

Okay, be advised that you don't really need it for anything else anytime soon. I believe you get another from a Mourner near the Regicide ancient gate when doing Mourning's Ends part 1...
  15. I like all of them except the lightsaber one (red streak on blue). Not much help, am I?
  16. Um, real life doesn't always work like that. Engineers and programmers are paid on a SALARY. That means they don't get paid by the hour, and that labor laws requiring time and a half for overtime do not apply to them. That means they can take a long lunch or go to the doctor sometimes (in theory), but it also means that if the company "needs" you, you are expected to work overtime. For FREE. It stinks, but that's the world we live in. Since Jagex is a small company, I doubt they treat their employees that poorly. But unpaid "overtime" is a fact of life at many engineering jobs. Those people getting out of bed and coming in to work shows that they CARE about the players. Getting out of bed in the middle of the night would and did happen out at Cape Canaveral where I used to work, but again because the workers cared about the lives and millions of dollars at stake. Jagex COULD have let it go on all night and still said they wouldn't do a rollback. They didn't. AND I think despite the bugs here and there that this is the most massive update Jagex has ever done aside from RS2, and it's incredibly fun and most players are enjoying it, and it's really really REALLY good stuff! I'm delighted with it, even though I have no money to make my house a showplace! I'm still having fun! Kudos to Jagex!
  17. Take it to Ilfeen (yeah the initial I doesn't help, does it?) who is located just south of the main river, probably in a little glen. She is marked on Tip.It's Tirannwn map http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=isafdar_arandar.htm in yellow, just south of the bridge - her two locations are on either side, southwest and southeast of the bridge. Good luck.
  18. Slayer monsters. Check Tip.It's Bestiary and search on "mystic" drops? Good luck.
  19. Your stats are good enough. I always use swordies not lobbies, but I don't foresee problems for ya. Use the guide, of course. ;)
  20. Crafting Table 2. Steel bar. Crafting level 8. It is in the interim version of the Crafting guide surreptitiously posted on the website - a new version of the guide will be announced after we get the crest stuff added. ;)
  21. Biabf said the big swordie stuffing cost was 2.5K. (This has been added to the website Beginner's guide.)
  22. Did they have the "PK triangle" concept when you were in RSC? I wasn't around in those days, so I honestly don't know. Don't wanna give you a lecture. The basic idea is that Warriors > Rangers > Mages > Warriors. Please excuse me if this is baby level stuff. ;)
  23. I actually like the stone on the first one the best. The angle at the front, and the reflected image below makes it waaayyy more visually exciting. I also like the deep, rich color of the stone, which I think is closer to our imaginary dstone than the colors of the other two. You have some color fade-in (or "wash") on the left side shading down to near the letters (I'm not an artist at all, so I dunno what it's called - I only know what I like, lol). In the second image - this color is cooler and more stark, less warm. I like the shaded color the most in the third image. So my vote overall is the first one. If we are voting, that is. :P
  24. The key is for the armory. All you do with it is give it to your Black Arm friend. The shield half YOU seek is in the room near Stravan - go into the back rooms where the gang is hanging around and look in the bedrooms for a chest. Black Arm gang member takes key and goes to armoury. You can follow from there. Perhaps our quest guide editor will look at tightening this one up just a teensy bit to make it more understandable. Thanks for using the guides, it makes a big difference in your game play! Good luck.
  25. Because I was having trouble with this also, I paged through the Jagex knowledge base and made a little list of rooms and their possible doorways. It may get added to the website skill guide, I dunno. 2 adjacent (on same corner) - Kitchen, Bedroom, Chapel 2 through (on opposite sides) - Workshop, Dungeon corridor 3 - Parlour, Dining, Games, Combat, Study 4 - Garden, Skill, Quest, Formal Garden, Dungeon junction, Dungeon stairs 1 - Portal, Throne, Treasure
