  1. Excellent. I was going to do this myself in excel but youve saved me the trouble. Great info.
  2. uh 12 hours a week really isnt that much.... all things considered. I would daresay most active rs players dont play much less than 10 hours a week. Thats just not the kind of game rs is. An hour is nothing in game. All of that aside, parents have no right to complain to the media about their kids gaming habits. Tell your kid to get off the computer and go outside, dont sit their and say "Ohhh my kid wont stop playing video games i cant stand it."
  3. I hope this does ruin merchanting. Ive always thought of merchanting as a bit scummy, especially when the more hard to find items are gobbled up by merchants as soon as they become available leaving much of the stock in merchants hands. I have always disliked merchanting and support any actions jagex takes that allows me to bypass a transaction with a merchant. One example was jagex making vials unlimited in shops. Merchants were selling these for stupid prices and it was a great fix. Currently I think merchants take advantage of the relatively poor buying/selling communication that this game has. Streamlining the process will literally eliminate the middle man. Sorry middle man, go play the game and work on some skills to make cash instead of standing around typing.
  4. If you could sit down with a jmod and ask any question and they would give you a truthful straightforward answer what would you ask them? would you ask about what they were planning? where summoning is (if they are still even doing this) are there any new skills in the works? what the hell bird eggs were for? or other things youve always wondered but never been able to find an answer to I have tons of things I can think of but what would you ask? *edit* I'd love to make a massive list of the most commonly asked types of questions like this. I think if this thread gets a lot of responses I will do it. The types of questions everyone wants the answers to but for jagex's stubborn secretive attitude will probably never be answered. Also, if you could please keep the answers serious. Try and refrain from things like, "you think you could slip a few p hats into my bank account?"
  5. You couldnt be any more right with the concept of this thread. They say they play, but I hardly believe they have any truly high level characters, if anyone on content team did then we wouldnt be getting updates like we do. Areas that are never used again after quests, items that would be great if....(insert lame reason here. example a satchel that would hold any food instead of just a freakin sandwich) Yes, I completely agree with this.
  6. Yeah thats true I dont know of any that were changed. I also still see a ton of useless examines that are just there to be funny. When you really dont know what an item does, the examines certainly dont help now. Nor did they ever, which is kind of stupid.
  7. Browsing through old behind the scenes and announcements from jagex there are quite a few things that were supposed to be released and are mysteriously absent, or postponed. Which ones do you know of. Example: Wilderness tag game. Was announced in behind the scenes, and never release and we havent heard or seen anything about it since. This thread is not to speculate why or how, just to try and get an idea of how many times this has happened. 6 June 2005 "PLEASE NOTE: We have seperated Farming from Player-Owned Houses in order to bring it to you sooner. Player Owned Houses are still being worked on along with the Carpentry skill for release towards the end of this year - Honestly! :-)" So POH and farming were supposed to go hand in hand. We were mostly likely going to plant things right in our yards. Never really panned out. 31 March 2004http://news.runescape.com/newsitem.ws?id=208 -A large 'frozen lands' area including penguins, mammoths, polar bears and more. -Summoning spells - summon skeletons, demons, etc...! -More pets and followers with different properties and abilities. -Randomly generated scenarios, where a new adventure is generated for you and your friends each time you go on it. Form an adventuring party and go on your own personal quest.
  8. Quite a few good points made here. Add to this the fact that a good 80% of the people that play runescape are most likely kids who really dont have a deep understanding of corporations and business. Jagex is a private corporation. They are running this game to make money and thats their bottom line. Sometimes I am sure they have to make desicions that make sense for their business and these decisions do not always coincide with what players want. Another point I'd like to make is that Jagex could EASILY offer rs items and gold for real world cash themselves. Im sure they would make an absolute killing doing it. I think as players we should be extremely grateful that jagex has decided not to do this. Im sure if they did it would eliminate many if not all of the bots because jagex could lower the prices on cash as much as they needed to in order to put bots out of business. This would also save them money on extra staffing. The game however would surely suffer and anyone who was willing to spend their real cash on runescape could easily begin to dominate the highscores much faster than anyone doing all the dirty work themselves. My point? In some cases Jagex does do things purely for the enjoyment of the players and not just because of corporate interests. Does that mean I think that if I were on the content team people would love my updates more than the mostly pathetic ones we get from Jagex? Hell yeah I do.
  9. row never worked well for me. not anything noticeable anyways and if its not noticeable then im not wearing it. My ring of life has saved me much more money than a ring of wealth could have gained me.
  10. I was wondering what would happen if Jagex decided to limit each account to 12 hours per day of activity. What would your reaction be? I can see both sides of the argument. On 1 hand people probably shouldnt be playing for 12 hours a day anyways for health reasons. Im sure it could probably lessen the impact of some bots that are running 24-7 as well. On the other hand, if you are a member and are paying for the service should jagex be able to tell you how much time you can play for? What do you think?

  12. It would be sweet if we could see some more of these. Maybe people too lazy to make something can put up ideas of characters they'd like to see and those of us who want to can try and make them.
  13. Cooking, fletching, woodcutting, attack, defence, hitpoints, strength, and a big fat QUEST CAPE. All in my opinion are nooby capes. If you see someone wearing one of these its probably because they dont have any of the honorable ones. Ive got 99 fletching myself and didnt even bother buying the cape. Simply for the reason that I have a few that i cherish much more than that. Construction in my opinion is by far the most admirable and I'll tell you why. Personally I have 89 construction and 133k oak planks in my bank ready to go. Buying the supplies is only half the battle. First you have to be able to afford them which I can tell you is not an easy thing to do, it took me a hell of a long time to make that money. Time that I probably could have had 99 in another skill. Now that I have the supplies, my butler is going to charge me about 10m just to ferry stuff from the bank. Lastly, the process of making enough stuff to get me to 99 construction is finger-numbingly repetetive. It kills my wrist repeating that same motion over and over. There is no build-x. You have to build, remove, build remove, build remove, get more planks. Repeat this process hundreds of thousands of times and not being able to look away from the screen for more than 3 seconds at a time. Very very labor intensive. A lot of people think that if you have the supplies you are as good as there. Thats just not the case. Even if supplies were free lots of people still wouldnt be able to put up with this. Thats why construction wins my vote for most admirable, hands down.
  14. All you people who are screaming "overpowered" are forgetting something. These are just pics. Sure it can do this much damage, but how often can someone use a special? Not that often. How much slower is this sword than a whip? Its 2 handed which means although it has higher str, youre losing whatever bonus from your left handed item and a significant amount of speed. Jagex has historically done very poorly making 2h swords worthy of the 2 slots they take up. Before you say its overpowered you need to see it in a video tested against a whip. Against a person with a full load of food, if your special doesnt kill them with this weapon you could be just as much of a target as they are. Why is it that people only consider the power of a new weapon vs other players and not NPCs?
  15. Also to say youve mastered all the skills means you obviously have to have 99 construction. Judging by the amount of people that actually have 99 construction and the ones that answered "all" Im thinking some people are probably counting only f2p skills if they are f2p. Which sort of makes this poll inaccurate. To master all f2p skills though you would still need 99 smithing.
  16. Here are the required levels for mastery of certain skills. Mastery means you can do everything in the required skill so for example level 75 is a woodcutting mastery because its the last thing you can earn besides a 99. So... attack- 70 (black salamanders) strength- 50 (granite maul) defence- 75 (dragonfire shield) ranged- 70 (multiple things) prayer- 70 (Piety prayer) magic- 96 (spellbook swap) runecrafting- 91 (double nats) construction- 99 (multiple things) hitpoints-99 (cant really master it unless you have the max possible) agility- 85 (elven overpass shortcut) herblore- 82 (super wep poison) thieving-91 (best room on pyramid plunder) crafting-90 (onyx amulet) fletching-95 (dragon darts) slayer-90 (dark beasts) hunter-83 (dragon implings) mining-85 (runite ore) smithing-99 (multiple things) fishing-96 (barehanded shark) cooking-91 (manta ray) firemaking-80 (magic pyre logs) woodcutting-75 (magic logs) farming-83 (spirit trees) There might be a few mistakes in there let me know if ive forgotten something. Going by this list I have mastery in 19 skills.
  17. Dont forget that Kyles crafting cape was mistakenly put under woodcutting which means we dont yet have a winner for crafting. Many people are forgetting to vote for it because they think crafting already has a winner.
  18. I think this is a good idea. People seem to think it would get abused but i think a ton of bots would be banned and barely any legit players would. 1. Its incredibly easy to tell the bots with only a little observation 2. If a player was blocked by accident they could look around for the mod doing it and immediately try and talk to them and prove they arent a bot. Its really not too difficult. If you are paying any sort of attention at all it would work. Even if a screen came up that had a timer on it that gave you a warning so that if you spoke to the person within the time limit they could stop the effect from happening.
  19. When you click on the links they take you nowhere, broken address or something. Ok sorry i messed up on that one its http://www.esnips.com/doc/92db67a0-34fc ... mp-122-124
  20. Ok I will say this. I currently have enough planks in my bank for 99 construction. About 170k oak planks, which cost me a pretty penny. The major thing that bothers me about construction is that oak makes better leveling than mahogany. Whats the point of gaining levels if you dont get better ways to level up? Mahogany should be better xp per gp than oak, thats just how rpg's and leveling systems should be designed. People should not be using basic materials to level to 99. However jagex has seemed not to notice this flaw in quite a few of their skills.
  21. What I really want to know is how people got more stupid over the ages. If they used to know how to make the strongest armor and weapons, how come we dont know how to make them now? Now we can only make rune, which is the noobiest of serious armor. In fact people barely wear it for serious combat. I though technology was supposed to get better over the ages..... Either way, maybe the weapons they used in the third age havent been discovered yet.... hopefully
  22. When you first plant a willow sapling it looks different now. The sapling has 2 small white leaves poking out the top. Before it had nothing.
  23. Ninjachicken, Here is my video re-uploaded to the website esnips.com with a lot better quality. You can zoom in on this one and see everything thats going on really easily.
