Actually, most newer games are installed fully to the hard disk. You only need to put the cd in to start up the game because of a copy protection check. If it were reading stuff of the cd the game would be a lot slower. If the game does need to read file off the cd to play then it would make noise like you said.

I have heard that corsair ram only has a problem on the ASUS nforce 6 motherboards and not all of them :? . Although I could be wrong. Nadril want to post here and let me know how that heatsink is when you get everything set up?

How are you getting that number? The iphone if $600 and the most expensive plan is $100 a month. $100*24months=2400+$600 iphone=$3000 anyway thats still a lot of money for food either way.

It may meet the minimum hardware specs to play it but there one big problem. The iphone does not support java so it will never work.

Don't tell me you wiped the paste off? Then put the heatsink back on with nothing there? That would be even worse because there would be gaps of air in between them that will get extreamly hot.

Well you took the heatsink off the processor and did not change the thermal paste? You always need to change the paste when removing the heatsink. The fan should not fully shut off anyway. If it's spinning faster than before the processor is getting hotter than it was before.

Well to find out if it's overheating I need to know if it's an onboard card or a discrete graphics card. I also would need to know what the make/model is. After that there are software programs to tell what the temperature is. Or if it's a pre-built, the model of the computer would be a lot better. If it is infact overheating you could add a few extra case fans to your computer, change the thermal paste of the heatsink of the card, and other things. If you don't know what your doing, take it to a repair shop. Especially if your parents wont let you even open up the computer.

I meant overheating of the graphics card not the whole computer. Overheating the graphics card can cause some strange errors. Is it an onboard or discrete graphics card? Do you have an extra card you could try in that computer and see if the problem persists?

Have you tried re-installing directX? The only thing I can think about atm is your graphics card is going bad or possibly overheating.

For all technical purposes, Opera Mobile is a full-fledged browser. It's mobile technology - and just because it isn't equal to the PC version of Opera does not make it a cut back version. Optimized for a different platform, and it works in exactly the same way. You got to pay for it? awwww How is it not free like the normal opera?

First of all he already ordered the computer. Your saying Corsair ram is crap? You must be joking. Can't overclock? Corsair is known for their overclocking potential, it's budget ram anyway, he's probably not expecting to overclock it a lot. The extra cache does not help in overclocking (generates more heat) but does have some performance gain. but you suggested a processor to overclock with the extra cache even if you said it's not good? :? It is also priced a lot more than he's looking for. The ram also does not need to be overclocked on a E4300 processor because of the high multiplier. You can have it at 3.6ghz (400x9) and still be at 1:1 at DDR 800 ram running at DDR 800. Or you could overclock it be using different dividers but then there's more latency in the north bridge and other complicated stuff.

When I say yes to activate it, the screen pops up and it says this version is already activated. please read my post and see that it says to use the "Activate by phone" option How can I use the activate by phone option if I can't click a darn thing when I go to the activation screen. I can't enter a code on the activation screen because it says it's already activated. I'm going to call the main support line on Monday and speak to a real person.

No it's not. I guess all of those features are flawed in some way on the phone. I guess the internet is very slow, which Apple blamed on AT&T's network and claimed it would be faster using the wifi, and it is, but it's still painfully slow. The internet is crippled also, no flash, no java, and can not download images from the web. One thing I have read that was good s that PC Magazine did a stress test on the phone by putting it in a bag with a lot of keys and shook it, many times. They dropped it on concrete, carpet and tile floor and there was not a scratch on the screen and it still worked. I guess there's going to be a second gen by Christmas which hopefully will come with a price drop and fix some of the flaws, if that does happen I might get one.

No, rather, they should chip in a bit for it, and pay for gas and other things themselves. I've got to pay for gas for my car, and I (as well as my sister) am going to chip in $1000 for the car (it being a new car that costs $17,000ish). Parents that have kids that can drive have a lot less to deal with (grocery trips, driving around other siblings, especially when parents are at work, etc.), and we all know no kid is going to afford a car on his own money. Can you honestly tell me you'll be able to afford your own car when you're a teenager? You might not be able to afford a car until you're like 30 -.- . I can honestly tell you that I'm paying for my car, with no help from anybody, and I'm a teenager. I'm looking at getting a car around $7,000 not including taxes and insurance. I worked hard and saved and did not blow too much of my money of stupid things like others. You are spoiled if you are only paying $1000 out of a new car. I'm sick of these kids that think they payed for things when they barley payed for the tires on the car. The 8000 series is junk, a 7900GS will far out preform an 8500gt. I was just recommending one for his price constraints. But that card is still not good with his price constraints.

Well I format my computer about 2 months ago, everything was fine, it activated fine. Worked perfectly. Now all of a sudden soon as I log into my Windows XP account I get "You must activate this copy of Windows in 7 days" (now 6). I then go to click OK and to activate it and it says "this copy of Windows has already been activated" :? This copy of Windows is legit and I payed for it. I repeat this copy of Windows is legal. Any ideas?

BF2 will work but you will need to turn of UAC, run as an Admin, and have it set to run in compatibility mode of XP. Other than that it works fine :wink: . I know CS 1.6 runs fine of Vista but I have no idea about source.

I would advise getting atleast a 450watt or 400watt at the minimum if thats all you want to spend. If you don't have enough watts for the graphics card (and the system) you will have slow downs by the graphics card or full system crashes.

Since it will be for audio creation you will need a lot of cpu power, which the core 2 duo beats AMD at the moment at all levels besides the entry level. 2GB should be enough. 1 Cd drive should be enough unless you want to copy CDs/DVDs on the fly, meaning you would want to copy from the original directly onto the blank disk.
