  1. Canon EOS 350D, and I used a Canon EF-S 10-22mm USM wide angle lens on all of these photos. (First two at 10mm)
  2. Babelfish.. :P Yes, I live in Doetinchem too. I will try to send that photo to the city-hall to see if they will buy it. Thanks everyone, I see that posting photos at Tip.it isnt always a waste of time. It was a great feeling, I cycled through this dark, 'after the rain', 'wet aired' kind of lane and I turn to the left and I see this scene. Thanks.
  3. ook? do you live there too then? :) Thanks cup and jopie :)
  4. I got up at 5:00 this morning, to photograph. I went to the city at first, but the results were so disappointing that I thought the whole trip would turn out in a disaster. I was just photographing a mill, and it started to rain.. I had to unmount the camera, get rid of the filter, trying to make the tripod from big to small again, all at once. :wall: So I cycle to the countryside near my house, its mostly farmland but there are quite some trees. Here are the best 4. ^I had no idea what to do with this one. Its a panorama, 3 images, and it looks good but I wanted to make it better somehow. Did not add anything to it to keep it pure, but also because I did not want to ruin them by fancy colors or anything.^ ^ ^First 'HDR', 2 images.^ Full view recommended. Especially the last one :)
  5. I have to say, those are pretty good compared to your last photos. =D> The second one could have turned out great, there is no clear system in the lines in this photo but its still nice. Third: 'Oh no you didnt' :) Fourth: Interesting circle, try to include a softer background next time (like white, or something that has 1 color) Fifth: The light made this one special, Last 2 panoramas: Since Im a fan of panoramas, I like them both :) I remember those kind of wooden houses when I was in Norway. Keep it up
  6. I think that means favorite camera subject (Like macros or landscapes) ;) I just got back from Ireland (Have been in Finland for a week, but I wasn't at home so no Photoshop, all my shots were in raw) so expect to see another thread by me soon. 8-) All your shots in RAW? How many photos did you take then :)
  7. I bought a new filter to mess around with, as the title says it is an infrared filter. It looks like a black and white filter but it reverses tones even more, and it holds back the sky so it looks way better than a normal B+W image. These are just test shots, to see how it works out on which settings. f/4 2 seconds ISO 100. f/4 15 seconds ISO 100. You will see more in the future. :geek:
  8. Coulrophobia- Fear of clowns. I think thats about the only thing, thanks to Stephen King. [hide=Some interesting ones I found]Dutchphobia- Fear of the Dutch. Kathisophobia- Fear of sitting down. Papaphobia- Fear of the Pope. Geniophobia- Fear of chins. Chorophobia- Fear of dancing.[/hide] What a list. I'm glad that I dont suffer from some of these.

Just download it and quit whining, damnit! :P This is one of those games that you either download (File size: about 600mb) or you buy it at a store for $5 at a discount :) I really start to hate the Prosperity rating. Its the only thing that holds me back from winning, and no matter how much houses I improve it just wont rise. That means I have to use the worse cheat there is: Auto-win -.-
  10. You may also post demotivators at the funny picture thread, I think its best to keep demotivators in that thread along with other funny pictures. ;) -Locked.
  11. No way, LP might enter the Photo of the Month. Lets see what the others say about that (Zargo, maybe greenslime89, navyplaya). manipulation=manipulation but basically every photo will look 'less good' if even the basics arent applied on it. Or we simply cut the 'Non edited' category out, and we let the photographers decide on themselves wether they manipulate it or not. (Manipulated isn't always better than less-manipulated photos)
  12. At primary school, we had 2 computers that people could use to make assignments and stuff. The most common subjects were ''Dogs'', ''Cats'', ''Horses'', stuff like that. I was about 10 years old back then. So I try to find info about ''cats'', (the dutch word for 'cat' is 'Poes', 'cats' is 'poezen' ) so I randomly type in the dutch word for 'cats'.nl and I see this website filled with a pink website template and human skin. 'Thats not good, quick, close it down' I thought and I searched for some books about cats after that -.-
  13. It's a good initiative, knowing the old POTM got ruined because of the rollback. I'm not sure if we could just use the old rules, I'm not saying these are bad but I'm used to the other rules :) I will enter, may we enter older photos? It would be more fun to go out and shoot something for this competition, but the number of entries will be bigger if we may use older photos.
  14. Photography - Started in September 2006 and I'm still getting better. I seriously cant stop doing it and I feel like I have to buy +5 other things that I 'need', like lenses, new camera body, stuff to clean it, etc. It's a great hobby, right now I'm mainly photographing my pets but I want to do more landscapes in the future. That means I have to get up at 4-5 in the morning for the best results :) (My photos: www.woopidoo2.deviantart.com) Music - I play the guitar for 7 years now, and I bought a bass-guitar some months ago. Everyone says Im very good at it, so. :) Patience - I have a sister that not everybody could live with. She can make you unbelievably angry, but still I will not do anything physical to her. She has got NLD (a Nonverbal Learning Disorder), this doesn't make her handicapped or anything but she reacts differently to signals given by others. In example, she only picks up the words you say to her, she will not react to non verbal signals like an angry face. Those are the major 3 I guess. I'm good at other things but I wouldnt call those 'talents'.
  15. It's a good thing that you decide to buy a body only with another lens instead of buying it with a kitlens. I made that mistake and I bought the 350D with the kitlens, and I regret it. It's ok for soccermoms and older people, but you start to get very annoyed by its cons, like pillow shaping and lack of sharpness. First of all: Get a good all-round lens (that covers the standard focal lengths) like the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8. LP uses it too and I think I will buy one of those too once I have some money to spend, but I heard Sigma also has one at those focal lengths. You cant simply just buy the body without a decent all-round lens like that, its a must. So please dont buy a body with a macro lens, you will need that all-round lens more than you think. After you have got that, you can start expanding in specific lenses, like LP said. I dont know about Nikon bodies but the 350D is just fine for beginners like you, it was the best entry level for beginners in photography for months after it had been released. It even has about the same image quality as the Canon 20D, a semi-pro camera. (But the 20D has much more other features that the 350D doesnt have, which are much more useful too) I will give more advice once you have bought those 2 things first, because 1) I dont know if you will go with Canon or Nikon (Try both of them out in a store, you dont have to buy them) 2) We dont know what you will be using it for. ;)

    Ceasar 3

:P I just finished level 3, the peaceful one. And it was HARD, it was simply impossible to make it without the money cheat. (Alt+K, Alt+C) I could not get the prosperity at 10/10, it stuck at around 7/10 so I kept improving the streets and houses. My landscape was packed, there was simply no empty spot left. I started on level 4 (military) yesterday, and I had carefully planned a water route with reservoirs that would be useful for my future city. But I forgot how my friend told me years ago that you always have to build some military buildings first because they would attack very soon. And they did, I lost it all in a matter of seconds. (dock, ~30 houses, 4 reservoirs+aqueducts, etc.) So I will start with that, going to play it now. :geek: Noooo... It seemed like I was doing everything right.. but there is a limit of the number of forts you may have, which is 5. I was mining iron and such for weapons (I also build a workshop next to it) but I could not produce them, so my 2 javelin forts were useless. I won 3 times against troops, but my forces werent strong enough at the 4th time :( So I lost, spent the time I posted the post above me until this post on it :P

  18. I would not know what's going on by just looking at the T-Shirt. It looks like a king tries to hold off it's enemies, but the scene is too 'complicated' for people that look for ~3 seconds at that shirt. And I also think the letters on the book would be too small to be seen on the printed T-Shirt. The graphical part - Looks great as usual, combine that with a catchy idea/design and you have a great T-Shirt design.

    Ceasar 3

Ceasar 3 at Gamespot.com [hide=Screenshots+Image] g [/hide] This must be the oldest game (Release date: 1998) that has a topic around here, but I still wanted to discuss this. Ceasar 3 must be one of the best childhood games I ever played at a friend of mine, and I recently got it after many years of not playing it. The highest resolution available is 1024x768, and it still looks pretty good I have to say. Who knows/remembers/still has got this game?
  20. Lmao, I swear this is the sweetest show for kids. Any parent can let their kid watch it without worries, it's a carefully animated cartoon that follows the life of a penguin family. I watched this sometimes with my cousins who are way younger, doubt it's known at all to born-Americans though. Pingu was my favorite. And I still laugh at it when I see these videos on tv :) I remember this one vividly: http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=oTWv63RyLP8 The 'Noot Noot Noot' at 2:01-2:03. Priceless.
  21. I'm not a big fan of the Tour de France, but my parents watch it all the time so I'm kind of forced to watch #-o I have been at a camping near the Mont Ventoux in France, Lance Armstrong trained around that area while we were there. He would cycle to the top and back every day, just to practice. And thats quite a long ride, I can tell you. I have been at that top twice.
  22. Impressive  It takes some imagination to convert those pixels into a 'real' person. Runescape graphics look even worse after I've seen this :D
  23. I wonder what will happen if Turkey actually wins Euro 2008. They were partying in the city center after they won with 3-2, and even more at 2-1 :o
