  1. Banksy is a great artist, I cant see his influence in your piece though. I think it looks ok, maybe you could fix the sign at the right because the drips arent going down 100% vertically. ;)
  2. Emotion and depth? Its just another 'look how sad I am, with my mascara and big eyes' As for the manipulation, it could be a bit more extreme. Try to give it your own twist, which is hard to do but it will turn out great if you manage
  3. *Does research* Canon 450D (with the EF 100mm f2.8 USM Macro?) If so, I thought I recognized the kind of bokeh that you get when using that lens. Great lens =D> Yes, I think they're pretty good. The branches are a bit too 'ordinary' but I do like the droplets and its colors. The 3rd and 4rth one are just a bit too blurry, too bad they didnt work out :( The 7th has a very fresh combination of colors, pushing up its contrast and brightness could look even better.
  4. According to a Youtube comment (the most untrustable source ever, I know), someone said: ''I heard they got to writing last September, so i'd say fall next year for a new album. '' And John Frusciante will release an album at 01/20/09, according to another comment. Lets see what happens that day, I will buy it for sure once its available.

    A Football

We have asked the ball back 4 times at his doorstep already. Everytime he started a speech about how we absolutely don't care about him and that we should make someone from school come and get the ball. He doesn't seems reasonable at all, after the first three times asking politely, the fourth time I tried to convince him that there was no point for him to keep it as we wouldn't stop asking and it would certainly not make us stop playing soccer. Without success, obviously :? And about the parents. Mine were a bit amused and kind of wanted to see if I could fix it myself lol In that case, how about faking a letter from school? You could also ask one of your teachers (if school is actually involved in this) to write a letter to him, to ask him to give the ball back. Seriously, that man must have nothing better to do in his life. :wall:
  6. Thats similar to my story, My brother introduced me to Runescape and I had to think of a name to get started. I quickly started to think, and I thought of some random cheer, 'woopidoo'. Woopidoo it was. I started playing, and after playing for some months I suddenly got questioned through PM's by a Jagex Staff impersonator. He said I misbehaved, and me in all my innocence gave away the password so he could solve the problem. Some weeks later, the 30k I carefully saved up AND my full mith were gone. I decided to start all over again and chose the name Woopidoo2, the second woopidoo that started from scratch. And that name stuck, as I checked out these Tip.it forums that someone recommended to me (Rodsay, I dont think anyone knows her). I didnt expect much of these forums because I never posted on one, but I started to like it and I'm still here :)

    A Football

I think he just wants to make clear that he doesnt want any footballs in his garden. He just tries to make you guys ask for the ball at his doorstep, so he can say whatever he wants to you so it wont happen again.
  8. Do you also like 'If'? I cant believe they put it on the album while they have so many B-sides (posted on Youtube) that sound much better.
  9. No, both songs are completely different and only their song titles match :o
  10. They said that they wanted to take it easy for a while, and they might release a new album somewhere next year. Flea also said that he is teaching himself 'new styles', cant wait to hear it. What would you prefer, a new album just like Stadium Arcadium (Soft, some 'rock' but mainly cooled down and relax) or something like 'Californication', 'By the way' (Rock, both albums contain worldwide hits) or maybe like 'One hot Minute' and 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' ? (Funk and Rock, energetic and wild) or even older like 'Freaky Styley' or 'Uplift Mofo Party Plan' (Funk) I dont think they will ever return to the 'funk era', to be honest. :( Im not sure if lots of people know all these albums, but I wanted to ask this anyway. I do hope they release something less 'mainstream' than Stadium Arcadium, I prefer their older albums above the newest.
  11. I remember that ShadowFaxPZ said exactly the same thing many months ago, by bolding 'Confidence'. It made me realise that that was the thing I needed back then.
  12. Get rid of the text 'sunglasses' and the rest at the bottom-right. And I dont think it needs a border. Other than that, it looks good. Your best piece yet.
  13. Indeed, I never see why they focus on such a small scale while they might be able to do great things on a bigger canvas. I really like his use of stocks, he is great at blending.
  14. Assuming the hitter is the one holding the bat; dont they wear a helm to prevent getting hit like that? Why did you try to hit him anyway :o
  15. An axe. ..a freezer full of rotten meat, just when we arrived from a 2 week vacation in France. The one who was supposed to take care of the house forgot that we had some meat in the freezer, so it started rotting for 2 weeks until we came home. Steak, salmon, lots of it. We got it all insured though, to buy new meat. edits: freezer/fridge mix up.
  16. To break the habit of 'new signature/LP/stuff', here's a 'Tag wall' I found while browsing DA. Look at this and get inspired, I would say :geek: [hide=Big image][/hide] http://najn.deviantart.com/art/Final-TagWall-101988381 He quit making sigs, so he wanted to inspire people by making this collection.
  17. Check the white balance. That's what I'd go for first, but low ISO + mid aperture is always good too. Remember to use the NR function if you have it to reduce noise. Good luck! Haha, that reminded me of this situation.. A friend of mine and I were shooting at night, and he noticed that his camera took like 2 minutes to save the photo. (He has a 400D) Some days later, after going to a camera shop where they said he had to send it back to Canon, he found out that he had his noise reduction on. So his camera multiplied his shutter speeds by 2, if he made a photo at 30 seconds, his camera would need at least 1 minute to reduce the noise+save it. To be honest, I dont think you need NR if you shoot at 200 ISO. But I am not used to other peoples cameras, I just wouldnt do it myself. (To be sure, test it by using the same settings with and without NR. And show me the difference :P ) As for the white balance, use 'Tungsten' if you can. Its a small light-bulb icon, and it cools down the colors alot but they look alot more real.
  18. Russel Hobbs EDIT: No way. I probably skipped the part '' is a fictional member of the virtual band Gorillaz'' when I read this article many months ago. #-o I look up info behind most bands I listen to, just because I want to know why they make music/some background info/their influences etc. I am a christian too, so I try to stay away from those kind of people in music. But he is fictional, it turned out. :wall:
  19. Apart from one satanic band member, yes. @ second one: I like the fact that your tried to experiment with a blurred background, but I dont think the white space really fits with the render. Keep practicing ;)
  20. Here are some corrections I made. (I'm not trying to break it down, just pointing it out) -Below: Perspective doesnt seem right, it would make sense if it had the size of a building. (I hope you see what I mean with the little vertical lines) -Buttons are a bit too low, could be a bit higher -Upper bar above the screen could be thicker. Good luck finishing it. :)
  21. 1. Not much to critique, its a nice photo for a beginner (you took this when you just started photographing, right? ) The only thing to 'adjust' is the green moss at the left-bottom corner. 2. The way the lines go are interesting, you executed it well. Using a circular polarizer would give the clouds alot more detail/saturated colors, something to keep in mind if you are ever going to buy one :) (And if you do, dont go with the cheap ones. An important filter like that may cost some money) 3. CCed this one before, flipping it to the right would look better. 4. I think its a bit too close, and the field where the focus is isnt that spectacular. I do like the depth of field, its just the focus that doesnt do anything to me. Comparing these with each other is a bit unnecissary (sp?), they're all pretty different. ;)
  22. Hmm, it could be your ISO setting? ISO 100, the lowest most cameras go is recommended when shooting with long shutter speeds at night, you will need a tripod to photograph the moon succesfully though. You could do it with a higher ISO speed but that affects the photo quality. It could also be your shutter speed. Try something around ~10-20 seconds, if you have a tripod. It wont look good if you try to photograph the moon at a fast shutter speed+high iso speed, it just wont look good. I'm not sure if the standard lens reaches that far to get a decent amount of 'moon' in your photos, if you only want to include the moon. I dont think a polarizer will help at night, but that depends on how strong the light from the moon is (and the amount of clouds). Try it out what looks best, with or without polarizer. The same counts for fireworks, you will need a tripod to shoot fireworks or you have to find some kind of object to place your camera on. A remote will also help to reduce the blur, its a nice and cheap extra for your camera.
  23. woopidoo2

    I dunno.

It's kind of unclear where the focal point is, there are 2 men staring at me and there's text in the middle  Keep practicing
  24. One thing that seriously bothers me is all the 'Cosplay' thats happening over there. All of these no lifers dress up like 'Riku' and who knows what (the only name I can remember) and they post their [cabbage] at the Photography section. Its just very annoying to see those uninspired photos getting 700+ favs, because he/she did something 'funny'. Another thing that I dont like is the fact that once you become known, and I mean 'seriously' known, it doesnt matter what you post but you will get favs and fame anyway. Take a look at Karil's stuff, he is probably the most popular photographer because of the Cokin filters he uses. He gives his photos a cool color and everybody likes the colors.
