The 'auto login' square box is centered in my FF browser (centered compared to the 2 text bars above), not sure if thats how its supposed to be but its different than your screenie :) Looks pretty nice, the only thing to change would be the left vertical bar which is thicker than the right vertical bar ;)
  2. I had written this critique on a photo at DeviantArt. As some of the DeviantArt users know, there's a new Critique system available for subscribers. So I had written this quite detailed, and in my eyes 'helpful' critique, but the author of the photo I critiqued on blew my critique away by labeling it 'useless'. (Critique rejected as "Useless") I'm not trying to 'get my Tip.it friends on my side', instead I would like some insight about the critique I wrote. Was it too harsh? Too bluntly put? or is she, the author not able to handle critique? The photo: http://bloodpromiser.deviantart.com/art/Marsh-122812039 My critique: [hide=Text]I will be honest in this critique, which may sound harsh (so dont take this personally ;) ) What I see here is a photo of a bench, with excessive editing. One comment said 'Omg its a bench', and it is, nothing more. You know how to edit a photo, and in this photo, you used it to make something nice out of nothing. In this situation, you could have created more depth by including some more of the path that bends off at the left. My eyes tend to look into that direction, but there's not enough room for the path because the bench fills too much of the frame. A model (sitting on the bench) could have made the difference, but I dont know if there was anyone with you at that moment. I'm sure the majority of people will like it because of its colors and its overall 'feel', but I dont think much remains after completely removing the colors that were made in PP.[/hide] Or: http://woopidoo2.deviantart.com/critique/118781383
  3. Thats a great story, funny to see how those things go. I actually remember your most popular work from Deviantart http://huang.deviantart.com/art/My-To-Do-List-5250546 , great job on that one =D>
  4. I adjusted some things, but not that severely that it counts for 'manipulating' according to the description in the first post. So, [hide=Unedited][/hide] My nephew, at the cemetery. Manipulated entry might follow. EDIT: [hide=Manipulated][/hide] Its my brother, acting like a smart-[wagon]. My sister and mother at the background. My mother had this bright purple shirt on which was quite distracting, so I converted it to black and white to put the focus on the 'model'. There's some texture in there, barely visible.
  5. Remoteman, put those photos on Deviantart  I actually photographed my nephew and brother during a family day last sunday, will enter at least something.
  6. The requested version looks alot better than your personal version if you ask me :P The yellow sky destroys the balance that is there in the requested version. On top of that, the lighting would have been very different with such golden skies. But still, it looks very good. Keep it up :)
  7. Alright, thanks :) Might lighten up the foreground tomorrow. EDIT: Keep on replying, by the way ;)
  8. Good to see more people posting photos lately :) I havent done much photography these weeks (months), because of school/work/bad weather. All nice excuses, but I just couldnt find the energy to make some new photos. So I've got a new one for you to see.. a new photo that I'm fairly happy with after a long time of 'nothing'. Tell me what you think, I would like some more comments about it. A friend of mine (the first one to comment on the deviantart page) said that the foreground is very unclear and that the composition lacks. He also said that the mill doesnt add anything to the photo, it's only disturbing him. Do you feel the same way? I do not agree with him at all, but I could be wrong :P [hide=Evening in May] EXIF-Data: Camera: Canon 30D Lens: Canon EF-S 10-22mm Focal distance: 10mm Aperture: f/7.1 Shutter speed: 1/60 ISO-speed: 100 [/hide]
  9. To quote Wikipedia about 'Street Photography': (what is street photography?) 'Street photography is a type of documentary photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places such as streets, parks, beaches, malls, political conventions, and other settings.' I remember I introduced the 'street scenes' competition (in which only 2 people entered?) but that is very different than the Street Photography I'm aiming at. Treamus and Chris Weeks are two of my favorite street-photographers, please check them out :) If I could choose, I would go with Street photography. Its challenging, but great fun to do. Other themes that people might like: - 'One Colour' (Participants enter photos that contain a color that fills up at least 50% of the photo) - 'Favorite object (Photograph an object that you like in an interesting way) - 'Depth of Field' (Post photos with an interesting depth of field) Just some random thoughts.
  10. Pretty well done indeed, although there's one thing that could be better: The 'camera' tends to slow down on some points, it would be nicer to see everything in just one flow if you know what I mean. At 0:04 there's a small stop, and there are also a few stops from 0:04 to 0:07. I couldn't have done it better myself though, keep it up :)
  11. I agree with the replies above. Some c/c: - Convert it to black and white. Not because black and white makes every photo look cool all of a sudden, but it will increase the contrast and it will give some more impact than it does right now. This scene asks for impact, which kind of lacks right now. Maybe you could only convert the letters 'heat' to red or something, leaving the rest black and white. - The guy at the right seems to bend a bit too much to the left, but its easy to warp him some more to the right in Photoshop. - The lamps and the safety camera keep on distracting me, try to remove just the big lamps and the camera. The curves on top of the post could stay. I wonder how it will look after correcting it, keep it up :)
  12. Alright.. right after I posted, I thought 'ofcourse not, thats no 50-500mm :wall: ' But I had to go to work, so I couldnt edit it :)
  13. Wow, very impressive indeed  Ive got a question though, in this photo, you seem to be using a Sigma 50-500mm (with an extender?) if I'm not mistaken, but the lenses you mentioned dont look like this one at all. I suppose you sold it? :) Keep it up, you live in such a great environment.
  14. I wont enter this time, due to my lack of creative ideas around this theme. I had something in mind like Zargo's photo, but I dont have time to do anything right now :(
  15. I like them too, especially http://www.flickr.com/photos/faresh/3273057308/ . But all of the photos on your Flickr page were interesting to look at, keep it up :)
  16. Thats a pretty cool site, never heard of it before.
  17. Alright, that worked perfectly. Thanks alot :)
  18. I have been working on my website for a while now. I started from scratch a few times, but its finally getting somewhere. The website I made will work perfectly Firefox, but it will not show up at all in Internet Explorer. Now I'm pretty sure it has to do with the navigation I made (with help from a tutorial), because the website will work in both browsers when I remove the navigation from the page. I also figured that it might have to do with the metadata, but I'm not sure about that. Here's the CSS and the HTML: [hide=CSS, metadata] Jelle Boontje.nl [/hide] [hide=HTML] Home Portfolio About Numero Tres Portfolio Just one subitem About Prints Contact Subitem One Second Subitem Numero Tres Fourth Thinger Overig Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Dont mind the colors, Im about to change all that so the website isnt finished at all ;) Any help would be appreciated, I havent got a clue why its not working in IE because of the navigation (which doesnt seem to contain any faulty coding).
  19. GREAT theme, I'm very motivated to photograph my new acoustic guitar. I'm saying this too easily, but I will enter on this one. If time lets me :)
  20. I wouldn't call colour correction manipulating. Sharpening as well, because you can do all that in a dark room. Thats true, but the photos just seemed over-processed to me. Which were not, in fact, but I was just pointing it out :)
  21. Thats one perfect tablet :o It took a while before I knew what that brush-head on the right was. (top left-right images) But, my Wacom Bamboo still owns.
  22. The color correction is very good indeed, but its also bothering me. You gave your photos these special colors (gave, they were never there) . Which is fine, you have to do whatever you want to do to your own photos. But I appreciate a photo because of what's really in there, not what you did to it in PP. My advice: Work on your composition, and find subjects that will surprise people. Nothing much else really, keep practicing :) I would also recommend to not-overprocess your photos by doing cool things to them in Photoshop... you're a photographer to make photos that can stand on their own, not to manipulate the [cabbage] out of them. ;)
  23. That looks pretty cool, keep it up  I would un-bold the description under the landscapes though, the text barely seems to fit in the content box. Ive been developing my own website too for the last weeks, on and off because of school.. but I really want to finish it since it has taken me too long already and I want to come up with something at last :) Will you use any Flash in this website, or just HTML+CSS?
  24. Thanks everyone, I decided to buy an unused example. This seller had never un-wrapped it, he got it as a birthday gift but he discovered that the didnt have enough hard disk memory to install it :D
  25. I have something that I cant solve myself, so I hope you can. I want to buy Call of Duty 4, mainly to play Multiplayer with. So I have found this original copy online, someone is selling it second hand for about half of the store-price. He claims that he has never used the key-code, due to internet problems from his side. He says he has bought CoD5 so CoD4 became useless to him, because he cant use CoD4. He has entered the keycode about 5 times, but he could not get Multiplayer to work. My question: Would I be able to play it online with his keycode, since he has never got it to work? I dont want to end up buying this game, to find out that the key doesnt work on my computer. Help please? :)
