Photo of the Month 01 - Music

 

 

 

It's about time someone started this up again. I hosted the one-off Christmas photography challenge, and i'll be hosting the Photo of the Month from now. So I decided it is about time we got one of these running up again.

 

 

 

There will be two sections:

 

Non-Edited

 

Edited

 

 

 

That means something Manipulated or Not.

 

 

 

Non-Manipulation = Photographs taken with a film or a digital camera featuring a minimal amount of colour and exposure adjustment.

 

Manipulation = Photo manipulations are images that have been composed of two or more photographic elements to create something new.

 

 

 

The Rules:

 

1. Everything has too be your own. That means any photos, manipulated or not, have to be yours.

 

2. When you submit a photo, make sure you say what category it is in, and pm to me. No anonymity here sorry.

 

3. No more than one photo is too be submitted for each category.

 

4. Have fun.

 

 

 

How to Vote:

 

Basically you can vote twice, in the sections Edited and Unedited.

Unedited besides levels, and that was very minor. :)

GREAT theme, I'm very motivated to photograph my new acoustic guitar.

I got the time and the weather tomorrow, so i'm planning on having a "photoshoot" in my garden lol :lol:

That almost makes me not want to win :lol: I hate choosing things like this. I'm having a hard enough time deciding which picture I want to enter! I guess I'll enter this one:

I don't know whether i love your pictures Tripsis, or envy them

Here's my entry for the unedited section. I'm actually quite proud of this shot, it took nearly two hours of trying to find a nice angle, what to put in it etc. I didn't use photoshop at all to adjust levels/contrast/curves etc, i really wanted to try and make use of the camera properly, cause i always fix things in it. The only bit of editing i did do was removing a speck of dust that was on the sensor that was in the top left of the picture. I really wanted to have one line down the centre of the image, the white keys at the top, black at the bottom, the mic stand come in from the top of the photo, but i couldn't do it without some serious effort, effort that would be kinda silly considering the nature of the contest hah. Ah well.

Now i've gotta work on my manipulated entry. I've got an awesome idea, although it's going to be bloody hard, because it involves moving my piano into my back garden hahaha... Ah well. One can dream.

I really don't know which one to use.... rawr. I like the longer keyboard visible and the whole perspective thing, but i like the cropped version how the mic is centered in the blue wall at the top. I wish i'd thought of that when i was taking the photo.

Here's my entry for the manipulated section. Not really a manip in my opinion since the only thing I did was to take several photos and blend them into one without any modifications at all. But well...
