Wikipedia fallacies
Because wikipedia isn't a valid source. There is not supposed to be any original research on wikipedia. Wikipedia is one of my favourite parts of the web, and actually when I had to do research papers. The information on there is so simple and concise it is a simple matter to find what you are looking for, find where the people got that info from, and go to that source and use it for your source. Don't have to worry about papers anymore but it's still one of the best parts of the web just to find out random facts, then spend 2 hours following links from that and ending up somewhere completely different.

What movie(s) did you last see?
That was my favourite movie back in the day after the first one or two watches. After more watches you understand the story more, and hence pay attention to the other stuff more (script, acting ect...) and you realize it isn't nearly as good as first thought. I've watched quite a few movies lately, trying to complete the list of the Top 50 Dystopian Movies of All Time. I have 40/50 done, and I have acquired 7 of the last 10 I need to watch. When I saw this list I had around 30 done already, so I guess I only watched about 10 from it so far. The one I just finished was: They Live - Good overall. Some parts were great, and then there were some parts that were kind of like, "really?" I actually have more appreciation for it now after reading the trivia on IMDb, one of the most ridiculous scenes was the 5 minute long fight but now I see why it was in there. Also had to rewatch the Cripple Fight episode of South Park right after the movie finished, just to compare  . That is one of the biggest reasons to watch this movie even though it can be a little lame at times; it is part of pop culture and many other TV shows/movies/other media will have references to it.

Really? Free shipping options on sites often say 4-10 days, and while I've got quite a few 4 days from order I've also got quite a few 10 business days after order.

How Trustworthy is this Site?
One of the things you downloaded had a virus? I thought you said you got it from the web page? Anyhow I still don't understand how you managed to get two viruses from there. I've got hundreds, possibly even thousands of torrents off of that site and never got a virus. A good tip is if you are looking for a tv show don't download an [Caution: Executable File] .

I actually like the 360 having the analogue stick offset. And I dislike the "2" shoulder buttons on the dualshock not having anything to keep your finger slipping off. But for some reason I don't like the 360 controller any more than the PS3 one. The only controller I ever thought was OK was the GameCube one, and that even suffered from cheap analogue sticks. I'm still curious how anyone would prefer a controller over keyboard and mouse, for most things k&m just work so much better. There are a few things controllers do better which is why I have one for my computer, most games though k&m are just so much better.

That shouldn't be a problem. Distances under 25m really don't matter over cat5 cables (which I am going to assume is what you are using).

How Trustworthy is this Site?
I've never got a virus from any torrent file, and I download a [bleep] ton of stuff (getting close to the 3TB mark on one of my torrent clients). Mostly I get the files from TPB, never any problems. I doubt you got a virus from just visiting a web page either, that is very unlikely. Sure some ads might be able to do that but they would be blocked fairly quickly. Demonoid is as safe as any other public site/tracker. Check comments, check uploader, scan the files yourself if you are really worried.

Browser of choice?
I've been using Firefox since before it was called Firefox, so there  . I think I probably still have a few firebird[Caution: Executable File]'s backed up somewhere and I might even have one or two phoenix[Caution: Executable File]'s somewhere. I like to back up everything. But Fx isn't quite as fast as Chrome, which is the only other browser I really gave a legitimate try. I still use Chrome on my laptop since I don't use the web all that much on it. Once it gets a proper ad blocking plug in then I am all over it. I like Fx, I really do, but speed>loyalty.

It's impossible to buy every single item the first playthrough without getting the discounts first, so you must have missed something.

There are a few different things you get resources/credits from in the beginning. After you have completed ME2 twice, or once starting with ME1 import, every new character will start with 50k of every resource and 200k credits. If you import a lvl 50 ME1 character you start with 2k exp (level 3), 5k each resource and 25k credits. If you import a lvl 60 ME1 character you start with 4k exp (level 5), 10k each resource and 50k credits. There is supposed to be a bonus for level 51-59 that is between but I am not sure about those, most likely it is right between the other two. Regardless, all ME1 characters imported have a chance for 100k credits if they were rich in ME1. Also 20% of both your renegade and paragon scores are carried over. So you can start the game with 350k credits and 60k of every resource, and at level 5 with 20% of either renegade or paragon already done. I don't see the advantage of starting with a ME2 character, you do get to keep a few things from your first playthrough but at most you will start with 200k credits and 50k resources, and absolutely no paragon or renegade points.

The Official PS3 Thread
I meant to post this yesterday, but forgot. The PS3 Media Server official website has updated for the first time in 11 months, saying there will be another release soon. I haven't had any problems with the last version but still it is nice to see an update.

I always bought out the entire store and then intimidated the shopkeep for a discount. ...why? If it's your first play through you can just barely afford every item in the game, and that is only if you import a rich ME1 character. You have to get the discounts at every store before you buy. Anyways I thought the paragon discount was pretty lame; getting the exact same animation and sound bite for four different stores is kind of lazy.

Is this a good computer?
What? Where did you get that crazy idea from? They both produce fast processors and slow processors, company has nothing to do with it.

Apparently you can make it through the end with no one dying with only 4 party members loyal. I've always had all loyal going into the end so I can't verify the validity of that idea.

What difficulty are you playing on? But either way, yeah screw shockwave. For higher difficulties you need warp (until you can get reave) to not die. Adept + energy drain is pretty much the best though. Just make sure to max out the passive to get shorter cool downs. Also go for wide singularity. Don't put more than one or two points in pull and throw, they are just for emergencies (really short cooldowns). Depending on how you spec adepts can be the best or they can be the worst.

It will usually say something about eezo in the planet description. There is a system with three asteroids in an asteroid belt that are all rich and have eezo in them. That's where I got it the first play through. The second play through they start you off with more than you need for the entire game. http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/944906/58925 this could also help, I never used it because you can just check every planet as you go to the systems and get enough. But if for some reason you need something now and don't feel like searching you can just look on that page.

You're wasting your time on good planets too. Only mine if it is a rich planet. You can do it fast too, drag your mouse back and forth quickly until you see a big bump (don't take anything but the biggest) then go to it, spin the planet about a fourth and do it again. 4 or 5 probes per rich planet and you will have more than enough for every upgrade needed. To put it in perspective there is something like over 2million of each resource, and you only need around 270k of each. On your second playthrough you start with 50k of each, and you only need a total of around 40k to get every eezo upgrade, so that you never have to mine for.

I actually felt bad being paragon to TIM, he spent [bleep] tons of money on bringing you back from the dead, and while he obviously has other motives he is the only one in power who was doing something about the reaper threat. I liked the renegade options better also.

Yeah you can get back loyalty afterward if you lose it. Might as well not lose it though.

Mass Effect Thread
You have to recruit all of them, then they will want to talk to you afterward at some point, then you will get their loyalty mission. You can get their loyalty mission right away and not worry about doing it for a while, there is no time limit. So make sure you don't do both Miranda's and Jack's until you have at least 80% paragon/renegade. I never use Jack so I just wait to do hers until right before the IFF mission. Oh and make sure you have everyone's loyalty and finished all the missions you want to do before the IFF mission, since there isn't time to do more than two in between that and the end mission.

how hard is it to build a PC? or just buy a brand desktop?
Why is it a waste? Even if it couldn't read DVDs and CDs (as far as I know they have always been able to, but not sure) it would not be a waste. There are tons of reasons to have a Blu-ray drive in a computer.
