It seems like it stops more than stuff on emotes; it also stops the animation on alchemy, and other spells. I assume this is because the animation of getting pelted with the snowball replaces the animation you are currently doing.

That's ok, I don't need it, I already have a karil xbow. Besides, for me to repair it would cost 65-70k... which is the going price for a new one in the GE. Anyway, I haven't been updating this blog for about a week, so I thought I might give you all the scoop on what I've been doing. I haven't been RCing. I still want 99, but I've been wanting to get all my skills 70+ for a while so that's one of the things I've been working on. I also want a higher crafting level. So anyway, here are the levels that I have achieved in the last few days. I got this level mostly so I could complete the achievement diary in Varrock, but also so I could make diamond bolts (e). I thought this would be a good way to train crafting, mage, and smithing at the same time. So I made 12k of them after I got the level... and lost about 300k doing that. Apparently you don't MAKE money doing that anymore... #-o ... and it took like 5 hours to make them. Did get a lot of mage, crafting, and smithing exp, though. Speaking of crafting... On a whim I decided to get my crafting level up. So I bought 6k green hides, crafted them into bodies, and alchemized them. Got 74 crafting with that... and then got another 100k crafting from cutting the diamonds for the bolts, and got this level. From alching the green hide bodies, I got... 85 Mage!!! TB FTW!!! Oh wait... nevermind. And just for the heck of it I decided to do a little agility and theiving training, too... -
good point, its just a suggestion because the xp from runecrafting is pathetic lol Yeah, the exp is pathetic, but that's one of the only things keeping the skill all that profitable. If it were easier to get exp, then more people would have higher RC levels, and the prices on runes would drop still further than they already have in recent weeks.

Nope, still dosen't work. I tried putting fun weapons on, and when I tried to attack with a snowball it said that ranged weapons were disabled. No, I didn't disable ranged, it did that automatically. Perhaps there are issues that isn't allowing the snowballs to act as a weapon; as it turns out, it dosen't work in any PvP setting, including Castle Wars, BH ect. I tried those personally.

I've gotten half keys about 4 times now.

Stop telling people what to do. If people ranting about the update bugs you that much, you need to turn a blind eye to it. All stupid topics like this do is start a never ending chain of people ranting about each other. You rant about other ranters, and pretty soon there'll be ranters ranting about people ranting about other ranters...

Make prices on ores in the blast furnace area what they used to be, but make it to where it can only hold up to 200 ores. The whole player stock equaling GE thing pretty much killed solo blast furnace...

Ooh nice find! Strange that Jagex put it in the game before summoning was even released :-k Somehow I think the "Pet Store" will only be for low level familiars, though. The name "summoning" does not imply "small pets" which is what this pet store appears to be for.

18 December 2007 - Christmas Event - For ALL Players!

Ooh I'm loving the snowglobe. Now instead of whacking people with rubber chickens we can throw snowballs at them :) Anyone else get the distinct feeling though that this event is totally hinting at summoning? To my knowledge this is the first time they've used the blue splash for anything but missing. -

what if they dropped it? Wheather or not the feature is safe isn't my point. Even if it was, it would still be annoying having newbies asking to wear your rares every 5 minutes... I'd assume Jagex would prevent them from doing anything bad to borrowed items like dropping them, alching them, loosing them when they die (in which case they would probably immediately go back to the owner), taking them into BH ect. -

Yeah I just had a bad thought... If they release the lending feature there is going to be a LOT more "Can I try on ur phat plz". Just because it's safe dosen't mean it will be any less annoying. -

So... they're not going to do a version of BH that's single? Bah. BH would be a lot better if it wasn't possible to form a huge team of rogues... Besides, a single combat version of BH would probably work a lot better than whatever they have planned. If RWTers tried to use a single combat form of BH they'd have their assigned hunter bounty locating to them and specing them out... And 30k? Way to be ultra conservative, Jagex. That figure could easily be upped to 100x the pathetic figure it is now without undermining the efforts to stop RWT. Loving the proposed changes to lootshare and the lend system, though. -
Actually, you never stop burning them. I remember a while ago a player had tried using the boost on his Cooking Cape and cooking them and still managed to burn one. So unless JaGEx updated since that player tried, you'll burn one in every thousand or so. Either way, it doesn't really matter. I'm 99 cooking, and I've cooked a good 2k of them since I achieved the level. None burned.

I'm updating this to let you guys know I've made a decision on my RC goal. Prices on nats are going down, and prices on ess is going up. The more time goes by, the less worth it it feels to be achieving this goal the slow way. So I've decided: I'm going to start using Fast Free Double nats. Of course I won't be able to use it after Jan 1., so I've got to get as much done possible. If and when Jagex makes some fixes so that pure ess isn't so expensive, or the demand for nats is rekindled, I'll probably go for level 100 or something  Another thing: I've sold my Zamorak Godsword that I purchased from the 150k nats I sold. It was great fun using in CW, but it seemed like a bit of a luxury. With the money I bought: A DFS, ranger boots, and a berserker ring. I've also completed all of my barrows sets; meaning I bought karils coif and xbow, ahrim's staff, torag's legs, helm, and hammers. Wouldn't have considered that before the update, but I have PLEANTY of bankspace now  -

Ego, it's obvious to me that you don't like being accused of being something you're not, so I can't fathom why you'd accuse Jagex of lying about this. They did take something you loved out of the game, which I assumed was merchanting but I guess I was wrong there. I can understand how you feel; but you're taking it way too personally. They did it to stop RWT, not to spoil your fun. Go in any f2p world previously infested with bots, and you'll see almost none. Go to any cheat site and you'll see that RWTers have all but given up hope. They've won. Is it really so hard to believe that now that they're done dealing with these players that they'll turn their attention to fixing what got left behind?

When I say "we" I mean the people who are generally optimistic about Jagex's... to say the least, controversial moves. About price manipulators; I'm basing this on the topic where R2Pleasent explained to tip.it how he manipulated the price on certain rares. Not quite clear on the details, but essentially what he was doing was toying with this "bubble market" to get the prices to rise, and then quietly selling out his stock before people realized what was going on and the prices went down again. People even paid him to tell them which rare's price he was going to screw with next... Yes I admit my knowledge on the subject is limited, but I know that it's still possible to make money from the market. By the way, I'm not calling you (ego) a price manipulator like R2. I know nothing about you, so despite Duke calling you that I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt.

This is the way I see it. There are three types of merchants, two of which have been eliminated by this update. "Short-Term" Merchants: These are the guys that sit there and look for good deals on items, and resell for a higher price not too long after. Since they often buy in small amounts and sell in bulk they were acting as middlemen connecting buyers with sellers - for a price. Now that we have the grand exchange, buyers and sellers can find each other effortlessly (assuming the GE's price is right... some aren't but as the post says they're working on that). You guys provided a nice service, but you need to move on. You've been replaced by something more efficient, you need to accept that. "Long-Term" Merchants: These anticipate rises in price, invest a large amount of money in such items, and wait for it to increase. If and when it does, they cash in. This is the type of "merchanting" that is not only still possible, but much easier. All you have to do is run down to the GE, put up a lot, and most stuff will be bought instantly. Price Manipulators: These would play on people's fear of market instability. They'd often employ an elaborate ruse to get people to think that an item was becoming rarer than it actually is. An example of one of these was of course, R2Pleasant. With the GE, however, prices will reflect actual supply and demand, instead of perceived supply and demand. When Jagex adds price graphs, the market will attain a never before seen level of transparency. I say good riddance to this type of merchant... So yeah, you can still make money off the market by riding the market instead of playing it. If this truly was the only thing that you found fun in RuneScape, just quit, we won't miss you.
