Help with Pokemon
I've used Gameshark and the Missingno code countless times on Blue and Red, my game was never messed up. Actually, the only time I can think of Gameshark messing up my game was with Super Smash Bros. for the N64, and that was my fault. I messed up entering the code in. Wanted to play as the Master Hand.

Whats your favourite advert? commercial for you Americans :p
That commercial is great, but I don't think it was ever aired in the US. :( I have seen quite a few funny commercials lately, but can't think of anyone in particular right now. The Geico commercial with the soap opera is funny. The guy's girlfriend just found out that he was cheating on her, and then he goes "I have some good news, I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico." Then he gets slapped and goes "I thought you'd be happy for me!" Another great commercial was during the Superbowl earlier this year. Budweiser I think it was. The two guys are on the plane with the door open, parachutes attached to their backs. The first guy is like "Jump!" and the second guy says something like "No! I can't do it!" Then the first guy goes "Would you do it for some Budweiser (Bud Light?)?" and throws a 6-pack out the door. The two of them stare at it falling down, and you hear heavy footsteps in the background getting louder and louder. All of a sudden, the pilot jumps off the plane after the beer, no parachute or anything.

-` Summerjob, hard, ruff and slaving? -âš´
My take on the post too. The thing that got to me was how she (he?) said "Can anyone beat my summerjob?" like it was some sort of competition. Also, the whole comparing that patient to a movie and such got to me too. I also don't believe too much of it either. Maybe you do work in an ambulance, but I doubt you're a certified paramedic who actually does much. A 16 year old as a paramedic? I highly doubt that. I sure as hell would not want some teenager as my paramedic. A lot of what you say seems to be exaggerated too. I'm a 3rd year pre-med student right now, living with my sister who is a 2nd year med student, with both of my parents as surgeons (different types). I've had experience working in New York's largest private hospital and one of the two primary New York City public hospitals. I've worked in the ER at the public hospital, and NYC public hospitals are as crazy as they get. Still, you would not observe nearly as many deaths as you seem to be. The ER is mainly for patients who do not have the insurance to go to a private clinic or if their PCP is not currently available. It's not like the movies where only people with massive blood loss and fatal injuries go to. Most of the time, it's an infection or a broken bone or a bacteria/virus that needs a prescription medicine, something "small" like that, far from fatal. Per month, there were about 20 bullet injuries, about 15 or so potentially-fatal cases, and about 5-10 fatal cases. And this was in Manhattan, at the heart of New York City. Also, the way you described that scene in the ambulance, you make it seem that you did a lot of that work by saying "we". The nurse did it, not you. Sorry, but that really bugs me. This summer, I landed a position of Research Coordinator's First Assistant and have been working in a neurology study where I have been teaching a few high school interns (around 16/17) how to work with BMIs (Brain-Machine Interface) and how to use/read them and such. All they've been doing is listening to me and pushing buttons that I tell them to. If I ever heard them passing off what I was doing as their work, they sure as hell would hear it from me. Also, I've seen hundreds of surgeries in the past few years. Just last week, I was priviliged enough to watch my second open-heart srugery. Since my sister is studying towards becoming a cardiologist, she was able to get me permission to be in the OR while one of the residents performed a surgery. What I did was take notes on the surgery for the doctor and patient to look over afterwards, in case there were any complications. The doctor spoke, and I wrote. I also organized the tools as he used them. If I wanted to make it out to be some amazing thing I did, I could be like "Yeah, so yesterday, we performed heart surgery on this guy. Everytime we tried to cut some tissue, it would go like SQUISH! It's ok though, I've done this before so I'm used to it." I'm not saying you don't work in a hospital, or even in the ambulance, but I highly doubt you are a 16 year old certified paramedic. Don't know how it is over there in Sweden, but you would never be able to become one here. Plus, you say you are getting paid, and getting paid well. Maybe if you were a volunteer or an intern or something, it'd be more believable. Also, I'm sure you are exaggerating a lot of your experiences. Not saying that what you are doing isn't emotionally stressing; I'd be the first to say that a job in the medical field is, but not as much as you are making it out to be. Oh, and one more thing: "and yes, ive saved life (thank you thank you)" - that also makes it seem like you are trying to brag about this. I know you were "joking arond" when you said that, but this seems like the completely inappropriate place to kid like that. Figure you'd do something like that (if ever) once you're an accomplished doctor and you're in a medical environment with other professionals or something. To someone that is about to go to med-school, studying for her MCATS, and is looking to enter this field as a career, what you said was a real stickler. And about the "can you beat that thing", yes I think I have beaten any month and a half experience you might have had in about the last 4 weeks. Working in the clinical research department has been awesome. I have gotten to see some pretty insane surgeries and been observing residents while they see patients. Looking to get one of the studies I am working on published in the Journal of the American Academy of Neurology by late Spring 2006 (would be my first published article for an actual medical journal :D) [EDIT]

how HOT?
New York has been going upwards of 90+ consistently for the past few weeks. I just went back home there for this past weekend and it was burning. Princeton (New Jersey, where I'm staying) has been a bit cooler at consistent high 70s and 80s. I like warm weather though, so no complaints from me. 92/93+ is too hot though (all temperatures in Fahrenheit.)

World Series of Poker
But the egos are what makes the shows amusing. And that's what poker is all about. A bunch of guys sitting around a table thinking they are better than everyone else. :P My favorite is Ivey as well. Gotta love his headphones. :D

Google Earth
Haha nice, a volcano spewing out smoke. :P Great program. Fun finding local places with roads unchecked. The images are a bit outdated though, by at least 3 or 4 years. So much has changed in my neighborhood. Found a food place I used to love going to as a kid. Still on Google Earth, but it was actually run out of business a few years back and replaced with some worthless dance studio or something.

Orisinal Games
Or, much simpler, http://www.orisinal.com :P I've played on that site for a long time. My favorite one is the "Frog Can't Swim" one. I got a highscore on it yesterday. :D

Keyboard modification
http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/input/7727/ That's the Das Keyboard. Along with no labelled keys, there are different zones that require less force needed to punch the keys. It's explained in detail on that site. http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/input/785b/ That baby however, is the Maltron Keyboard, ergonomically designed to give you the best typing experience, ever. If you think an $80 keyboard is expensive, just take a look at that. :P Personally, I think it's pretty ugly and probably wouldn't be comfortable. I've used other keyboards that are shaped like that (used as in typed for a few minutes at the store when they are displayed) and never really liked them. I typed slower on them. :?

New York City
I atually lived out east on Long Island, but I worked in a few hospitals in uptown Manhattan. I still do live there, but I go to university in Princeton, New Jersey so I'm down here most of the year. At least for the next few years. :P

Wireless internet connection problem
I did put the laptop right next to the route to make sure it wasn't some weird interference thing. Still didn't detect a wireless a wireless network. :? But still, I'd like to know what these channels you speak of are, and how do I check which one I'm on and change it? Time for me to go to work now, so on my way back I'll stop at the library and check it out. Thanks.

Wireless internet connection problem
Yesterday I was just browsing these forums on my laptop when all of a sudden the internet stopped connecting. I went onto my desktop and the internet was working just fine. My laptop is connected through a Netgear router. The laptop has "wireless technology built in" (as in it automatically searches for wireless networks in range and when it finds one, it asks to connect to it and shows a list of available wireless networks in range). However, yesterday it suddenly disconnected from my router and when I manually searched for wireless networks in range, it said none could be found. I unplugged all the wires from my cable modem to the router and all the wires from the router to my desktop and the power source to the router. Plugged them all back after a few minutes, didn't fix the problem. I then tried to let Windows "fix" my inernet connection, but it just went back to saying "No wireless networks found in range." The laptop is running Windows XP Home and I'm using a Netgear router that hasn't given me any problems before. I did a Norton virus scan today, nothing found. What I'm going to do tomorrow is take my laptop to the local library and see if it connects to their wireless network (like it did a few months ago when I took it there). If it does, I'm guessing it's a problem in my own house, with my router or something. If it doesn't, I'm guessing it's an internal problem in the laptop. Anyone know what might be wrong or have any ideas on how to fix it? I'll post my results from the library tomorrow after I come back home. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really need to get the internet back on this laptop as soon as possible. Thank you.

Have you seen that new Sprite contest?
They are advertising it as it's the "first free trip to space", as in it's the first time a contest is offering this as the grand prize. However, I know for a fact tht Volvo had a contest where you could win a trip into space a few months ago. Anyway, still an awesome prize. I doubt anyone will win though. I'm sure there's some sort of a "catch" or something. Just watch. :P

Now YOU can have The Force - In your very own Living Room!!!
And who said this one can't be used to fight with each other? Ehh, you could, but it'd most likely break on the first hard hit. So unless you have $185 to just throw away, I wouldn't recommend it. :P These things do look awesome though. I'm not a Star Wars fan (not like I hate it either, I just never got into it) and I still want one. :D

New York City
Pfft, I live in New York. NYC isn't that special, other than Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, Queens Plaza, Broadway, the countless restaurants, Trump Towers, the amazing hotels, the nightlife, Statue of Liberty, and everything else that's amazing. :P I find it pretty funny when I show someone around Manhattan and they're so...don't really know the word, but something along the lines of amazed. Don't get me wrong, New York is awesome. Just after going everywhere in it and seeing everything plenty of times and working in the city nearly everyday for a year, it starts to become routine. Oh well, I guess it's the same when I'm a tourist somewhere and the locals laugh at me. :D

Arrow thiefs problems..
Oh. My. God. There are people out there with a logical, thinking brain! Why can't everyone be like you? Will you and Bubsa marry me? Seriously, I don't see why there are still discussions about this going on. If anything, use the already existing topic. Anyway, this seemed to be more about the "solution" to the problem that isn't there. So, since there is no problem, I don't think making 50 shafts per log is necessary. 20 would be nice, since it would be an even interval of 10 when calculating things, but other than that, not really necessary.

SAT Reasoning Test (who's ready?)
Heh, the SATs. That test has practically become more about taking THE specific test than actually knowing the information. For someone who actually cares, it's really not that difficult to do well on it. So I'm sure you will do fine Punk. :D I took the SATs twice in my junior year of high school, so a few years back when it was out of 1600 still. First time was a 1540, second a 1560. Only lost points on analogy questions both times. And now for you people they are all gone. Lucky. :P I privately tutor some kids in taking the test, so I am very familiar with the new test. The grammar section seems the easiest to me now, then math, then verbal. One of my kids broke his goal of 2200 with a 2250, so I was pretty happy about that. The rest (about 4 others) didn't break their goals on the March testing, so they are taking it again today. Well, right this second actually. :P I'm eagerly awaiting for them to get out and call me and tell me how the test was. With all that aside, SAT tutoring is really pointless to me. Tutors and programs (including me) charge ridiculous amounts of money for SAT tutoring, since it is such an important test. However, if you are self-motivated enough, you will be able to learn everything the tutor will teach you by yourself. If you aren't self-motivated, then the tutor won't be able to help you anyway. I hate it when I get a kid whose parents forced him to come to me. It becomes such a pain in the tush to work with him because he won't want to learn or be there. So if you want to do well and were thinking about getting a tutor or going to Kaplan or something, don't waste your money. They will teach you the same things as you could learn yourself, if you wanted to, for a much less amount of money or even free. I never went to any tutoring and I still did very well. If everyone listened to me, I'd be out of business. Oh well. :P Good luck to everyone taking the SAT right now! Should be on section 5 or so right now.

Mouse going crazy!
Well, last night, everything with my mouse was fine. I turned it off, went to bed. Today, I just turned my computer back on. I single-clicked on Mozilla, and it started up. So I figured maybe I just double clicked real fast without noticing. So I went onto AIM, and whenever I single-clicked on someone's name on my buddy list, an IM box for them would open up. For anyone that isn't familiar with the AIM client, a single click highlights the name, a double click open up an IM box. So I tried it with the Runescape window client. A single-click opened it up. The weird thing is though, its not 100% that a single-click acts like a double-click. Sometimes, when I do it really slow and carefully, a single-click acts like a single-click (the name on the buddy list highlights, Mozilla icon highlights, etc.) Even with text, sometimes a single-click just puts my cursor in the middle of the word, but most of the time a single-click highlights the word. Figuring that somehow my mouse preferences had been messed up, I go to them. However, they are the same as they have always been. I put the double-click option to the slowest, just to check it out. Nothing changed though. I haven't downloaded any programs or even files for that matter for the last week or so at least. I am positive that no one has been on this computer since I logged off last night. Apparently, the mouse options haven't made a difference... Anyone know what's wrong? I'll post an HJT log if needed, but I don't think it's any type of spyware. This is getting REALLY annoying now. Thanks for any help.

Debate: Shold older people be alowed to drive?
I say up until 65 years old, drivers licenses should expire every 5 years. Once someone is 65, the license should expire every 3 years (maybe 2.) Along with that, I think America should establish a nationwide, standardized driving test. It's ridiculous how different the driving tests are, even when two people go to the same place to get their license. It depends WAY too much on who the person that tests you is. I know for a fact that at the place where I got my license, some of the instructor people do not even ask you to parallel park or make a 3-point turn, while others do. My friend, who is a very good driver, got this really old guy as his driving instructor. He passed the test with the needed amount of points, but the guy automatically failed him for some stupid offense that he didn't even really commit. The guy said that my friend sped up too fast to stop signs or something, and I've never seen him do anything of the sort. Just goes to show that old people and driving really don't mix, at all. :P It's ridiculous how easy it is to get a license here, and I heard that New York was one of the hardest places in America. The test is too varied and depends too much on the instructor. We need stricter driving tests and qualifications, maybe even a higher age to first get your license. Too many people can legally take command of an over 1 ton machine going over 60 mph, when they really shouldn't have that privilege.

Help with Acceptance Letter
If I were you, I'd talk about the positive and negaitve aspects of biotechnology. In the next ten years, who knows what types of diseases humans will be able to vaccinate. And with the rise of bioterrorism, powerful biotechnology in the wrong hands can lead to disastrous outcomes. Writing two pages on that should be fairly easy. If I were you, I'd stay away from talking about computers for this essay. Most likely, the majority of the people applying for this program will be writing about computers or something of the sort. You'll want to write about something out of the ordinary. Good luck! :D

NBA Championship?
Errr, you mean Phoenix has defeated Memphis. Nice games so far. Man, New Jersey gave the Heat a run for their money in Game 3. Carter even made a near half-court shot at the buzzer of 2OT. Crazy. He was playing phenomenal. Too bade Wade was even better. That kid is just ridiculous. :P
