  1. I cannot be the only lower-middle class, 120+ slayer who uses veracs instead of bandos to slay, am I? When using rune/dragon armor, I cannot peity an entire task successfully without needing to possibly switch to guthans to heal. With veracs I can and I look damn good doing it, too. (If I had a unicorn, I would be using proselyte to be honest...) You have these insanely powerful weapons and armors that may require a tad bit of repair every now and then...by the time you're able to afford them I am quite sure the repair costs are the least of your worries. The powers of a demi-god does have its setbacks...
  2. Was this before or after Macky14 and Monkey933? Anywho... This argument has split the RS community for years...pkers and skillers always seem to be at each others' throats... If I remember correctly, when Runescape was first created, there was a sort of PK system already implemented where you were either a skiller, aka unable to pvp, or a Pker, able to pvp. But, my memory may have deceived me yet again... The old wilderness was beautiful. You're able to pit yourself against ferocious players from around the world on any server and those players who went into the wilderness for monster farming, treasure trails, etc., understood the risks without the need of a silly ditch. Everyone understood the risks of the wilderness and if they didn't, they soon learned from their mistakes...hopefully. Now I admit, I used to be an avid pker. I used to casually fight other players in the wilderness on my main and soon began creating pure pker accounts specifically for the thrill of pking. Those thrills begin to fade and luring become quite popular. Even with all the warnings, people still fall for lures and scams and dropped like flies. No common sense... When Jagex began to pamper children rather than let common sense rule is when the downfall of Runescape began. Soon Jagex introduced more and more updates aimed more for newbs and fools lacking common sense, hindering illegal activities such as luring or other illegitimate tactics. Bots and goldfarmers ran rampant because of the free trade and easy real world money exchanges. On one side, you'd have a cult following of PKers and so-called 'Elites' and on the other the newbs and whiners with no common sense. Obviously the wilderness and dueling was a means of transferring large quantities of items and sums of wealth legitimately as opposed to free trading but Jagex still kept track of large transactions. It was all a medium for gold farmers to make an easy buck. The best part was the guilt trips people bled all over the forums of those poor asian gold farming, sweat shop workers. (Frankly, I just didn't give a damn about that and still played the game.) Anywho, short story even shorter. Jagex removed the all of this:; free trade limit, real wilderness, dueling, in an effort to save their game and, not 100% certain, their behinds legal wise. However, the effects of the previous system were rather detrimental. The community as a whole suffered. Players were often rude, arrogant or just plain stupid. It often seemed as if the servers were inhabited by 12 year olds flexing their internet egos where everything had to be settled in the wildy by their glorious 126 mains  as they stole their parents credit cards to pay for this game. Pking etiquette rarely, if ever, existed. The idea of honor was a ridiculous notion of pix3l loving  . Fair fights were often unheard of and taking down one man meant you had to deal with his 3 friends. That is if they weren't tagging out half of the time. The good pkers were baptized by fire and those who had skill were rewarded greatly. If you faced someone willing to fight to the death, you often found a new friend. It was a mess out there but still was fun. Now I see the new features to replace the classic wilderness. Bounty hunters was amazing at first. The cheap tactics still remained but it allowed those who wanted to pk to pk and those who wanted to benefit from the wilderness without pkers do so as well. They scrapped that and introduced PvP worlds with odd...rules and limitations. I found it odd but often more rewarding for casual pking as you could gain much, much more than you could normally pking. The idea was similar to before: Pkers and Skillers were separate. It seemed to work but with the same lack of honor and respect I have grown up with dealing with the everyday 'Scaper. Instead of the old, 1item, dds spec tele/leave, we now had full bandos, turmoil, claw spec and leave. Not that much of a change but a lot more deadly with a lot more risks. I've never delved too deeply into this new system in p2p. I can't ever seem to get a decent kill or am immensely overpowered because my lack of gear and stats. 'Scapers seem to have a knack adapting to new situations though. Those who don't PK still won't PK. Those who do, will still do. The only dramatic change I can foresee is with free trade and skillers. Merchant clans will have a major shift in power...if they lose or gain, I cannot say. Skillers and casual players will suffer either way. If the wilderness is changed to its former glory, it will be open season on green dragon killers, abyss crafters, and clue hunters. Now, I won't say that the pkers shouldn't kill the crafters or hunters. Its in the wilderness, it is apart of the risk. You cannot complain about taking losses in a dangerous area. Its your own damn fault. Only trolls, children, and low-lives will recognize the works of those who kill the defenseless and use illegitimate tactics but if you lose your valuables in the wilderness, no one is to blame but yourself. Jagex has done everything in their power to make the risks apparent to the uninformed. The wilderness is lined with skulls, dead trees and dangerous creatures for a reason. Use common sense and you won't get killed... In previous years, I would yearn for return of the old system however, its return may be more detrimental to the game that it may not be worth it. At this point in my RS career, I couldn't care either way. Most of my friends are either retired or unable to play. It has been years since I've seriously played this game and I've matured and grown up since then. Petty arguments over semantics and childish issues gets us no where. I haven't played much in these recent years, my memory fails me and I grow weary of this age old argument... As a whole, I cannot see either being implemented without some sort of set back to prevent gold farming and real life trading. My rant and ramblings may just be irrelevant in the grand schemes of things. tl;dr return of old may hurt the new; restriction on free trade/pking maybe possible.
  3. It's funny, I remember 90% of the older stuff but anything within the past year or two is new to me. I may still have some old photos to contribute to a few of these, I will have to search for them.
  4. You sir, are a moron. Good day. You sir, should read more Good day. Apparently you should learn to take your own advice kid.
  5. 1. What the hell is that Z shaped item in your bank? 2. Sick.
  6. The number of 1 def, 11 prayer 40s pures may disagree with you about the Desert Treasure Part. I have personally completed Desert Treasure on an old pure of mine years back with little difficulty. This guide is littered with inconsistencies. What are the xp/hr rates, money-making methods, etc., for a pure who is just starting out? I disagree on using a Granite Maul as a primary training weapon. It's far too slow and you would be better off using a Rune Scimitar instead with att/str potions.
  7. Bandos is for when you want strength which is a huuuuuuuuuge focus in this game....that's why godswords are so leet  Dragon armor is nothing more than novelty wares this day and age. It's cheap and is great if you have higher defense and don't want to waste time using barrows armor that degrades and proves no further use. If I want a top for strength, I wear my fighter's torso. If I want defense, I'll use barrows. Both are cheaper than either of your choices. tl;dr Niether
  8. The only reason why my chat is set to on is because of 1) Old friends who I may have accidentally removed still play and 2) With the name change update (In my opinion, the stupidest [bleep]ing update, EVER) I have no idea who is who anymore. Honestly, it used to always be set to friends in the past due to the number of scammers, low-lifes and general degenerates who would inslult, beg, annoying, scam, etc., to get what they want. It was just a hassle dealing with that bull [cabbage]. Nowadays, it's much harder to scam because all the fun activities were removed, I.E. no wilderness and no free trade. With clan chat, the private chat system is rather useless to speak with strangers. I rarely chat with players nowadays, via public or private, so the chat system itself is proving useless more and more everyday. To say someone is arrogant or lame to keep private chat to friends would be a ridiculous accusation. The OP in regards must be overly sensitive or just a bored troll.
  9. You can use melee protection prayers to cancel out his berserker mode however, he still hits you with a magic attack during that mode which you cannot pray against.
  10. Monk robes or proselyte/initiate to boost prayer while using protection prayers.
  11. Once I manage to hit 90s in Strength, Defense and Range, I plan to solo boss monsters for fun and profit. I've played off and on so the bosses behaviors have changed in the past 1-1.5 yrs. My stats will be the following at the time: 99 att 90 str 90 def 90 range 94 mage 96 hp 71 prayer 74 summon 67 herblore I have All barrows, whip, r-def, ss, range void; ancient magiks, standard prayers. I've limited the choices to a few favorites: Dag Kings-I heard 2m/hr now? I've done it in the past, not familiar with all the recent changes to kings behavior. Bandos GW Saradomin GW Tormented Demons Dogres-The ones that drop dragon pickaxes Any suggestions on what gear to strive for beforehand, best choice for gp/hr, etc? Also, is it worth getting the void mace for maging rex or would barrage/blitz be better than claws of Guthix?
  12. I would have to go with Graardor. Giant mole is consistant drops, but I don't see making a ton of money there. KBD is fun, but his best drop is a Draconic Visage; quite rare if I remember correctly. Chaos Elemental....drops a dragon 2h and thats about it? K'ril is hard to solo in my opinion due to his special attack hitting through prayer. Only notable drop is a Zamorak hilt and spear, with Graardor you'll have 3 drops worth a lot compared to just 1.
  13. my prayer is actually 15 :P And that's what I'm worried about, the whole safespot thing. I'm worried that A LOT of tasks will be impossible. And why would summons help? Extra xp/hr, no need to bank, etc. Every little bit helps but probably not for a pure :P
  14. For the most xp/hr, always use range potions, addy/rune arrows or broad/mith/addy/rune bolts. Broad bolts aren't unlocked until 50 range I believe so go with mith/addy. The drops alone should cover the cost spent on supplies. You're prayer is 11 I assume so that is negligible. Ideally it's the same as training slayer anywhere else except you'll have to manipulate safespots more often without the use of summons.
  15. House+Canafis Have a House Altar Banking would only take a minute or two at most. Like the guy above me, Monks are best; less than sharks, better than lobbies. Guthans should reduce the amount of food you'll eat+SoL special should help out in tunnels using no prayer. Barrows is pretty straightforward and there's at least a thousand ways to do it. Seriously, what's will all these threads with people asking how to do barrows at 110+ combat? No offense but we did it old school with mystic, red hides and a dragon scimitar
  16. After 90 range, I should have 90 str and defense and looking for a way to make money via boss hunting/grinding  If you have other methods, I'll be happy to hear them.
  17. I'd rather not chin as I'd like to make some money out of it as I'm a little broke at the moment.
  18. I'm looking to train my range from 86-90. The two main choices I've decided on was either: Slayer or Avianese. I have a full slayer helm, 71 pray, and access to Range potions. I can see making money from both, but more consistantly with Avianese. Current Cash Pile: 3.5m Thoughts? Advice?
  19. As I said, Armadyl Solo. And yes, it's also used for DK's tribriding. And if you lag in either place you die. My mistake. The components add up to roughly 1.4+1.4+.6=3.4m. I'll doubt you lose it at DKs, maybe Armadyl if you're dumb/lag. Not worse than losing armadyl or rest of the gear.
  20. p2p makes everything faster so....get it as soon as possible...
  21. Monkfish aren't bad for experience either, I went from 90-99 in a week there. Not sure the xp/hr but it was good experience, fast and made money..... That was back in the day so.....Rocktail sounds like a good choice for you.
  22. What the hell are you doing to lose it? Are you running into dag kings naked with nothing but the slayer helm and 3(4) other valued items?
  23. You can't slay with a hurt neck? I would assume you're using some sort of melee, rune armor is enough if you have it. I've seen people use torags armor but that's a waste. Some sort of healing familiar or guthans. Potions for every task, i.e. super sets, prayers If you want the most xp/hr us piety or turmoil as well.
