  1. You do, but it doesn't use arrows, it works for ammo like the crystal bow but degrades like barrows. So that being said it is cheaper per shot then Karils and Handcannon, which is ironic because it has lower DPS. to clarify, it degrades like a chaotic. barrows was a pre-tower of life update, as is crystal bow. In which case there is a separate compartment where the data of the degradation value is stored. Post-tower of life items such as dragonfire shields, chaotic weapons, effigies, etc. Have their data stored on the individual item. A 75% degraded barrows item, will stack with another similar 75% degraded barrows item in the bank. Dragonfire shields, chaotic items, effigies, etc. will not. As they are a post-tower of life item. Good to know, any clue as to what exactly about that update caused them to chance the mechanic for degrading items? Edit: I'm curious now and you're the most likely person to know. They added a feature into the game engine where items could store values instead of the character. This was announced and first implemented when they released the tower of life like 5 years ago.
  2. Well there is the dungeoneering skill. Thats the biggest addition to f2p ever. Also, free trade is back and pking in the wilderness like pre-08.
  3. For agility you should think about getting into the following courses in this order: Dorgesh-Kaan, advanced gnome, and advanced barbarian courses. You can use summer pies to get 5 levels to meet agility requirements.
  4. I really enjoy reading this thread and the critical debate going on inside the tipit community. This is such a hot button issue. You know whether or not we should respect each other's opinions or whether we should all become elistists and tell the rest of the runescape community, "Hey don't be stupid, do what my spreadsheet says." What's really odd is that somehow I have this strange feeling like I have taken a major part in this. Perhaps, it's because I coined such key terms as efficiency clowns, efficiency trolling, and dungeonsweeper. Anyhow... now for today's special olive branch offering. Wow, such an excellent post from one of my favorite people. However, I must be critical now, so please don't be offended when I ask you to make a list of names of people besides yourself who are qualified to post responses in H&A. You may simply turn the list in with only your name. Finally, please accept this olive branch as a token of my willingness to get to the bottom of this problem of unqualified and ughly posts in H&A.
  5. Are you saying even at current prayer potion prices, piety is not worth using? I don't use it. But can do it however you please, but it seems silly to me to have to go out of your way to make money just to do slayer which for most people is a fun skill that makes money. Nah, I'm giving he my usual horrible advice: Have fun while playing runescape it's not a job. This. Is efficiency trolling. Purposely posting bad advice. This should be bannable. Hi Levon, I got an olive branch for you. Thank you for reposting one of my recent trips into help and advice. Despite this being reposted out of context and lacking the original post, you can see what makes me proud. I was curteous and helpful. I even offered a bit of humor to I_troll_Gol. Afterall, do you know how many people got 99 slayer with just a whip, black mask/slayer helm, and super pots? Alot, since overloads, choatic weapons, and all that jazz only came out in the last couple of years.
  6. Can't we all just get along? We are Jagex's premier platinum fansite. We need to extend the olive branch to each other. I know in my heart that I have been trying with dilligence to get along with the more difficult people. I always try to offer them alternatives to their monotonous spreadsheet routine or a bit of humor. I just want them to experience the joy, wonder, and excitement of playing runescape THE GAME.
  7. Yay! Here is an update I'll never use.
  8. Do yourself a favor and don't do super energies unless you see they are selling. I think they will be hard to sell. Stick to the basics: super attack, strength, defense, and range pot. Only make untradeable pots if you are going to use them. I did it in 70mil back 3 years ago. You can probably do the same.
  9. Whatever floats your boat. I never use sara brews for that reason though.
  10. Are you saying even at current prayer potion prices, piety is not worth using? I don't use it. 11. Lol? If true that's a shame, arguing with his clown face was a highlight. Oh well its not like we can argue anymore since sense of humor has left the forum and filled my mailbox with ban threats.
  12. Try range? Melee only works well at the highest of levels and gear.
  13. Just get a slayer helm or black mask and some super attack/strength pots and your ready to go. Don't throw millions of gp at a skill that makes you money if done properly.
  14. You don't account for draws and you don't account for one player being about to attack first. Both of those are significant reasons why dueling isn't like a 50/50 coin flip.
  15. Yes to all, afterall this is the completionist cape and the person that gets it is the person that masters ever stinking piece of content no matter how long it takes. Add in the chompy gold hat. Add in the castle wars profound armour. Add in a slayer head of each type in your poh. Add in a ton more stuff that I can't think of. Plus the requirements would ever evolve like adding on new things like the livid farm content. It would be the most rarest and awe-inspiring item in runescape that could only be obtained and held for brief periods within the game. The only problem I see with this is that there is only one player I know that would qualify for it or would get it. That person is "Castle Wars".
  16. In regards to the article with the jibberish title, you can now add farming to the list of useful combat skills. That disruption shield spell looks outstanding and you aren't getting it without doing a huge chunk of new, in-game farm training.
  17. Nice update and a godsend to farming. Got me playing rs again. Definitely the best and cheapest way to train farming now. Disruption Shield looks game breaking awesome. Who knows spiritualise food may even make combat familiars useful. (Doubtful... but hey at least they are trying.) I hope they don't give in and nerf the points for the pker crybabies that need everything handed to them. Looking forward to this vampire and werewolve hunting stuff next.
  18. Looks less than so so. Don't care for summoning updates or guitar hero like games. Maybe hunting vampires or werewolves could be fun....
  19. It's been sad since the efficiency clowns moved in about a year ago. There ain't much they won't flame with their superiority complex. When you going? I'll throw you a party.
  20. Maybe they still do the old stolen credit deal to get members for their bots. Anyhow, given the number of idiots on day 1 of free trade that got hacked because of all their own botting with hackware, then I don't doubt that gold buying is quit alive and well in runescape. I think that Jagex in the end is just going to have to sell their own gold or ban player to player trades. Runescape is too popular and their are way too many casual players that want amazing stats and have daddy's credit card in hand.
  21. Lol... nowadays in america any clown can sue you for anything under the sun. I could see something idiotic like this being tried. But, I think you would have a better chance of being awarded something if you instead sue kids that hack accounts and steal your stuff.
  22. I found the unlabeled graphs to be a distraction. What you really needed was a picture demonstrating your technique. For that, I supplied you one free of charge. Notice the "pro" dungeoneering swan dive into the pool. Also, notice the lack of armour despite being supplied by the game in C2. I learned this technique at Dungeonsweepers*, a clan devoted to "teaching people who are wllling to learn, have a shadow silk hood, can do floor 50-60 in 20 minutes, have 3 binds, and don't care about dieing 10 times a dungeon". *Copyright Golvellius/Golvellius07 2010.
  23. I can definitely see a correlation between misery, pain, ego, and the holy magnet of elitism, "efficiency". Some of these people even go as far as to viciously troll threads involving community based events which don't focus on maximizing xp or gp rates. I suspect that strong aversions to anything labeled "just for fun" is a reflection of deep feelings of conflict coming to the surface when the individual begins to realize their obsession with competition and the many forms upon which success can be judged in runescape (xp, xp/hr, gp, and gp/hr). The obvious signs of this suffering are: The need to justify everything they do with abstract mathematics which may be applied without a realistic basis for analysis and poorly labeled graphs. The need to define maximum xp generation rates and the inability to handle constructive criticism. The need to form "elite" societies that preach superiority, apartness from the common player, and how to be a "pro". The need to tell people what to do and chastise others for differing opinions using cut and paste butchery from websites like wikipedia. No they wouldn't. So that brings up the question why risk things that were hard won in a battle with other players? Perhaps, its because you can make the other guy feel devastated and this gives some a perverse pleasure. I suspect this may be the case, but I personally only do safe PVP.
  24. Where's the fishing section? Fishing is all the rage now. You can't be a "pro" dungeoneering clan if you aren't into "No armour, fishing, dieing, and timers which are froze at 20 minutes".
