Junk Trading: Acceptable, Practical Practice?
Why do people keep SAYING this? You can't sell junk for cash. Nobody will pay for it. THAT is what makes it junk. It doesn't matter that it has a use in junk trades, because it is NOT interchangeable with cash. Why is this concept so hard for some people? Why do you people keep saying THAT!? Any item can be sold if the price is right. If the item is REALLY "junk", then no one would take it even for free, and that's what the price should be, free. Example: Scrolls. Let's say they sell to the general store for 10 GP. Are you telling me no one would pay 1 GP for them? Sorry, but you're wrong. All it takes is some people posting "Hey new players, to make a quick buck, buy a few hundred thousand varied scrolls and sell them to the store for a sizeable profit." If it REALLY is junk, then the price should be 0 gp. Fix the prices, and junk trading no longer exists.

No kidding. I'm considering an electric team, but this would be a problem. I'd be VERY tempted to make it only 4 electric types. If I do so, my lineup will likely resemble this: Zapdos Pikachu Electivire Rotom Gyarados Bronzong

Yes, Hail increases Blizzard to 100%, which is why like half of my team carries Blizzard lol. And yea, if it wasn't for burn, Diamond probably would've taken down your turtle. Burn cuts physical attack by half though, so yea. Snow Cloak reduces your accuracy to 80%. Brightpowder takes another 10% off making it 72%. What's scary is, have you finished off Shiva, I have another pokemon with exactly the same ability / item to come in lol.

Good game KcDragon. In case you were wondering, Shiva's ability and item both increase evasion. That's why your waterfall and dragon claw both missed despite 100% accuracy. She has exactly enough hitpoints so that she can use substitute 4 times, leaving her with 2 HP. Blizzard was PP Maxed to 8... which proved to be insufficient, hence why I had to switch out against your giant turtle. Lol.

Dialga doesn't bother me. I'm not sure how I'd kill it yet but I'll find a way. And honestly, my team isn't that good either. Don't be surprised if you tear right through it.

The Ultimate GWD Guide (AOW Discussion) Updated 6-17-2008
Sorry but I'd rather just post the correct guide. I should be able to get it done sometime tonight anyhow. Posting this as a test to see if I'm using the new tag format correctly... Edit: K, yes I am. But why the hell won't it let me put hide tags inside of each other...? :( This is going to be quite a large wall of text...

The Ultimate GWD Guide (AOW Discussion) Updated 6-17-2008
Alright well, I do have a copy of this guide saved somewhere, but I figure I might as well just rewrite it to include stuff on Summoning and such, and some other new strategies that have developed. Sorry for it being such a mess right now, I'm collecting pictures and rewriting the guide almost from scratch.

Don't EV until you've actually beaten the game, gotten the national dex, and collected the majority of the TMs. EVing takes a lot of effort and planning, and often requires breeding as well, for nature + egg moves. Since you can't really deal with that in an efficient manner before you have the pokeradar, access to Ditto, Smeargle, and numerous other Pokemon, and you probably don't have a PvP team planned, wait until later. Try just beating the game for once Ray. :P You can worry about making an awesome team later.

Lol I got my Castform chain to 50 after catching a 5th shiny, but then I got bored and flew away. A fairly easy way to prove your best chains would be to take a photo of your radar screen. You get a Poketech App. that basically lists your three best chains ever, the amount they are at, and your current chain (if one exists). No one here battles either. :( I'd love to test out either of my two teams against some people here.

Junk Trading: Acceptable, Practical Practice?
Every time I go on a Zamorak GWD Trip, I come out with 300-900 Adamant Arrows P++. These are worth no more than Adamant Arrows, because when training, the poison actually detracts from your experience. Also, it's far easier to gather mass amounts of arrows. But the GE price for these KEEPS RISING. Why? Because they tied the price to Super Weapon Poison. Each arrow is now worth over 1K, like 1.5K last time I checked. So let's say you get a cat mask. Why NOT throw in the 10k Adamant Arrow P++ you have now gathered up? Throw in some random stuff you made while training construction, the maple longbows you made with the wood you got from Miscellania, and now you get a good 20M for your item that would sell 250k on the exchange. Just because it's 30M doesn't mean you have to gather 29M+ of junk, it just means you can sell up to 29M+ of junk you already have. Junk can also be accumulated in many, many ways. What about the person I just sold the mask to? Let's say he gets incredibly lucky at God Wars, and fills his bank to the brim with gold. His friend is desperate to sell a red party hat, priced at 241M. He's already got this 19M+ of junk that I sold him, and probably 5M-10M of his own that he picked up here or there. Junk trading would not exist if the GE followed supply and demand. If Jagex did the following: - Raise the exchange limit from +/- 5% to +/- 30% - Made prices update every 2 hours, based on DEMAND - Remove ALL limits on GE prices Then Junk trading would not exist, this system would flow perfectly smoothly, and there would be little to no additional risk of RWT.

new slayer helmet worth it?
You could already do that with a SGS, bunyip, and armadyl. ...Yyyeesss, but this would make it even better. :P At least when you're on task. Let's say most people wear a noseclip, salve, and Armadyl. They'll hit fairly hard because of the salve, but they'll also GET hit fairly hard, and with slayer helm instead of the noseclip, THAT can be your stat booster instead of the Salve, with a fury giving you 15 more magic defense, which would help a lot. Just clarifying my point. It's not like no prayer abberants were impossible or anywhere near it, but this makes them a cakewalk. I haven't used pray against Spectres since I was level ~112. 10 Monkfish and my 70 prayer points got me a full inventory of herbs ranarr+, black mystic bottoms, lava battlestaffs, and rune full helms. Tab to pray and use portal back to Canifis. Now, I don't even bring food. Titan or Bunyip both give enough healing, and I use SS or Whip+Def, not SGS (Although I have one). I also use blessed d'hide with karils, because the tower looks so dull... blessed d'hide adds color. :)

Yay, TIF is back up... and you guys made a new thread. I am now chaining Beldum. I've gotten one shiny, and I still have my chain of 42. Unfortunately, these shiny patches just don't want to show up... :( I did finish my second team though, so I'm willing to battle anyone here who wants. EDIT: As I was posting that, a shiny patch appeared... containg a Shiny Beldum.

What's the most you've lost when you've died?
Whip, Dragon Boots, Warrior Ring, Neitiznot Helm, and a few other items. I was exploring Saradomin's Encampment, Madmanpur3 insisted we try visiting it again to see if we can find some more efficient way to fight her. After 2 kills, Mad gets teleported by ring of life. Our other friend and I tried to stay, Zilyana spawned, 3-hitted me, turned, and 2-hitted our other team mate. :XD: This was before gravestones, but after the 1-minute rule where when you die, your dropped items don't show up to anyone for a minute.

Slayer points
The Slayer Helmet is slightly overrated, in my opinion. It gives you the bonuses of: - [bleep]y Helmet First of all, you don't even need a helmet to go to ToG, thanks to the 2 step skip. Second, who kills these anyways? They give good XP but have horrid drops, and come in low amounts. - Nose Peg No benefit, because Salve (E) has a higher bonus than Black Mask, and works on Aberrant Spectres. They do not stack, so the Salve E will take effect, and you might as well be wearing a normal nosepeg. - Earmuffs No benefit, for the same reason as Nose Peg. Also, the fact that unless you're going to the new slayer dungeon, Banshees have a whopping 22 HP, and the attack and strength bonus does very little. - Facemask The only real benefit IMO. However, most people kill dust devils either for charms or camping for Dragon Chains. The mask has no benefit when you're not slaying. Also, it doesn't benefit range... which is still a problem I'm amazed Jagex hasn't fixed. Why doesn't Black Mask give range a +15% boost? I might still get it one day just so I can save space in bank while keeping all of these different items, but it's honestly not as good as it's hyped up to be...

Perhaps Runescape ISN'T Dying?
By the way, just because someone stopped paying as much for membership doesn't mean he doesn't play anymore. Put it this way. If you had 200k Legit players before, 30k of them were pures, then a lot of them would have discontinued membership. They probably would've resumed playing on their original "main" accounts... so although 30k accounts are no longer played, the actual change in the "players playing" listed on the website doesn't change nearly as much. Also, despite it being against the rules, a LOT of people had second accounts to hold extra items for them, be it in case of hackers or for more bank space. These accounts are definitely all unsubscribed by now as well, but they aren't usually counted. While Runescape is far from "dead", it's definitely lost a lot of members. The exact amount, we can not see, and it's not as simple as looking at "players playing" or what not.

Commander Zilyana Safe Spot - A Bug or Not?
Let's say hypothetically, Jagex adds a spell, "Nature altar teleport" to make the jungle areas more accessible. It is a normal spell, that requires 23 magic. Of course, people will start using it to runecraft. I mean, why not? When you're runecrafting, you're looking for the fastest XP and money possible. Then, of course, Jagex comes around and says "Oh we wanted to place a closer teleport to Tai Bwo Wannai and Jungle Cleanup. We really didn't mean to make nature crafting so easy." They delete the teleport. Then they ban every single player who crafted runes using it. Is that fair? Jagex makes things the way they like them. For example, in this case, they decided they want nice looking walls. Things don't always get USED the way Jagex wants them to. In this case, they were probably just for looks. The results are often unintentional. No, Jagex probably didn't mean for the boss to be killed this many times. To players who monster hunt, the slanted wall screams safespot as loud and clear as a Nature Altar Teleport would scream runecrafting.

Older persons who play Runescape
Same here, heard about it from half a dozen class mates. When I started, every single one of them was at least five times my level and I freaked out. Now it's their turn to freak out; I'm at least two to three times the level of any of them. :XD:

100000000 Overall Experience Points
Well, since you typically rate compared to what you have or what other people have, I guess I'll do the same. 6/10, nothing special. 100M experience isn't a whole lot TBH...

The Ultimate GWD Guide (AOW Discussion) Updated 6-17-2008
The amount you make varies widely. Here's the rough rates and values of drops: Bandos Hilt 1:200 to 1:300 Bandos Chestplate 1:100 to 1:150 Bandos Tassets 1:100 to 1:150 Bandos Boots 1:100 to 1:150 Armadyl Hilt 1:200 to 1:300 Armadyl Chestplate 1:100 to 1:150 Armadyl Plateskirt 1:100 to 1:150 Armadyl Helm 1:100 to 1:150 Saradomin Hilt 1:200 to 1:300 Saradomin Sword 1:50 to 1:100 Zamorak Hilt 1:200 to 1:300 Zamorakian Spear 1:50 to 1:100 Steam Battlestaff 1:50 to 1:100 [hide=Where did you get your estimates?]For Bandos, I've had several hilts, and several of each drop. I have far fewer Armadyl drops, but I got them at a roughly similar rate. The Saradomin drop rates were calculated off over a dozen hilts, and at least two to three dozen Saradomin Swords. I have gotten, or been on teams that have received at least 5 or 6 Zamorakian Spears, and several steam battlestaffs. I don't recall getting any Zamorak Hilts, but I personally didn't fight K'ril a lot besides the solo's when goofing around. The hilt rate there is based on the assumption all of them have a similar rate.[/hide] Note that I'm not saying "Every 200 to 300 kills, you'll get a hilt." Rather, every kill you have a 1:200 or 1:300 chance of getting a hilt. You could get it on your first drop, you could get it on your ten thousandth drop, or you could never get one. It's all random. Bandos w/ team of 4-5 gets between 45 and 60 kills per trip. Saradomin w/ team of 4-5 gets between 40 and 50 kills per trip. Armadyl w/ team of 4-5 gets between 25 and 40 kills per trip. Again, this is assuming you have experienced teams. My Armadyl estimate might be a tad low, having done very few Armadyl trips with professional teams. Also, those figures are assuming no one dies from lag, has to leave prematurely, has his computer blown up by a passing chinchompa, and none of your trips are crashed.

Is the GE broken?
I got a few Adamant Arrows (P++) during a Zamorak Godwars trip with my clan a week or two ago. I put them into GE at minimum price. Every day, I go to GE to find that the average price has rose, and my arrows are now below the minimum price... so therefore I have to remove and readd them. This has happened at least 10 times now, and the arrows which were once 600 each, are now 800+ each. And I continue to ask minimum price, and no one buys, but the price continues to rise... what the heck? Seriously, Jagex needs to make the GE work like they say it should. Prices should rise when lots of people are trying to buy max price, with not a lot of sales completed, and prices should fall when lots of people are trying to sell minimum price, and no one buying. By making the prices change in the wrong direction, or by price flooring certain items (Saradomin and Armadyl Godswords, and Party hats), Jagex is effectively making the items untradeable... >.< (On the plus side, it's now very easy to get around the unbalanced trade restriction. \ If you owe someone 1m, buy a 5m item and 1m worth of useless arrows for 6m cash.) :XD:

Ring of Wealth has been Charmed!
First, to Qeltar: I don't believe a sample size of at least 800-900 rock lobsters with wealth is small. Nor is 3,000 to 4,000 rock lobsters without wealth. Also, neither is 200+ GW Bosses without wealth, and another 100+ with wealth. If you were referring to the other references I made, I don't consider a sample of 3,000+ Aberrant Spectres small either. I don't have precise numbers, and haven't bothered to kill more recently, all I do know is that from personal experience, Ring of Wealth yielded a lot more herbs than Berserker Ring. I know friends who killed 5,000+ Chaos Druids, who came to the same conclusions there. Second, to those who say "Always wear a Wealth": That's absolutely false. Jagex once explained that basic drops are determined by a common and rare wheel. One of the options on the common wheel sends you to the rare wheel for a drop. The size of that segment varies, but ring of wealth increases its size by 10%. That means that your chance of getting a common drop is reduced, and if, say, an Abyssal Whip is actually on the common wheel, then a wealth is hurting your odds for one of the most sought after drops... while preventing you from using a ring with stat bonuses. I don't know what effect wealth has in other places, but I do know in the two places I tested, it changes the rates on each color. I'll ask you not post something like "Oh at my secret training spot, I get twice as many charms with wealth!" This is pointless, because a) we have no way of testing and confirming it, and B) you supply no numbers, and c) it just encourages people to post asking "oh where's this secret spot!?" Sorry, but that's a lot I'd rather not deal with.

Pretty good rexy trip?
8/10, good job on your first Dag Kings drop. : And Jordan, anyone who's DK'd knows that's not an "awesome trip" or anything. But for someone who's only been there a few times, his first Berserker Ring IS pretty cool. Considering a lot of first timers just get killed. There's no need to be a jerk about it... EDIT: Oops, misread. Thought you said first DK drop in 6 trips... #-o Oh well, nice anyways.

summoning highscores how they doing it?
You can get 500+ charms per hour by ice bursting or barraging at rock crabs in waterbirth. Nechryaels also can be barraged or chinchompa'd. If you're willing to spend several mil to kill REALLY fast, then you can collect charms fast as well. It's that simple. Summoning isn't so much about "spots". There are dozens of spots that are all equally good, that can all yield high rates if used properly. Summoning is based on how much you can spend on cannonballs, burst and barrage runes, chinchompas, and prayer potions.
