Actually, to avoid the abyss I usually use Fairy Rings. I glory to edgeville, bank, then I run to the fairy ring, wait for zanaris to load, then i punch in CKR, wait for Karamja to load, run to the altar, craft the nats, empty my 3 pouches, craft, glory, bank, ring, run, craft, glorybankringruncraftglrybnkrngrn... and that's how a typical day goes for me. If you recall the Swan Song quest your character doesn't want to do summoning, calling it evil. Then the necromancer says, "Don't worry, leave the fun parts to me."
