  1. I thought the same thing when I was walking around Varrock with my diving gear on, when the quest was just out. Even on a members world 3 to 5 people were following me asking me what that was. I kept the alien theory alive for quite some time, 'we come in peace' and all that. I even did the Star Trek Borg line: 'prepare to be assimilated' Scared the living daylights out of one of them
  2. I'm loving the monkey course, at 72 agility I hardly ever fail or at least not enought to need food in the 2 hours I've been there. And the best thing is... you have to be a ninja monkey to do the course. It looks hilarious to see all those monkeys running around the course. On a side note: getting an evil chicken random event while doing the course is very very bad. Combat forces your greegree out of your hands, you turn back into a human and all island creatures turn on you. The worst thing is not that most of them are poisonous, but that since you can't wield your greegree you can't run away because the agility obstacles require you to be a ninja monkey.
  3. I read the thread about it being the closest range and I think you are right about it being the closest iron and silver mines to a bank since one of the goblin guys takes you through the maze. I was thinking myself that it could be the closest spinning wheel to a bank aswell, just up two stairs and there you are. unfortunately I have no more large quantities of flax to test my theory :(
  4. xp wise: 1. 49,704,929 2. 14,069,712 3. 0.28306 = 28.31% level wise: 1. 1605 2. 550 3. 0.34267 = 34.27% Looks like 99 fletching really tips the scale for me :D
  5. It actually IS possible:http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=423860
  6. Precisely the reason why they won't make baby green dragons. ghasts are level 30, and you get 30 prayer xp from them. so why not? You need druid pouches to kill these, so thats not so easy prayer xp
  7. it is related to burrying bones and the gravedigger prevents you from moving, he talks to you instantly. I lost a monster drop because of this, sure it was only an avantoe seed, but it can be worse. GET YOUR DROP BEFORE BURRYING THE BONES! EDIT: I just got him for the second time and I love the event now :D He is like a free trip to the bank. I'm at the slayer cave and my inventory was getting full of herbs with 60 Turoth left to kill, then Leo came, I banked all my herbs and now I'm good to kill a lot more Turoth :D
  8. starting yesterday I'll never go anywhere without my new 'dark' gloves and their +12 str bonus :D
  9. *drools* pic of str bonus pretty plz oh and how much do they cost?
  10. Man, I've been looking forward to this quest. I'm going to take my time and really enjoy this one, not just read a guide to get it over with. Now lets hope it is a quest to enjoy :) EDIT: just read the knowledge base on the quest, it looks awesome! 8 subquests, a load of quest requirements, a lvl 227 monster to defeat, highest cooking requirement is 70, very nice looking :D
  11. I've had a mime once in the first 1 year and 3 months that I played, got an emote and that was it. Then in a matter of a month I got full mime all the emotes and then twice more for 500 gp  What I did mostly that month was high alching, FYI
  12. And yet every month people whine about the updates being pointless and boring  Thank you for stating this, I think these exact same things whenever people complain. Especially the price of membership being $5 since the start of p2p (not sure on this, only been around rs for a year and a half). Consider what you paid $5 for when p2p just started, was it worth it? Probably was. Consider what you pay $5 for today... game content has increased tenfold and even the older areas are being updated (graphically). Even if the game wasn't updated every week simple inflation should have raised the price of membership, but it was never raised. I think this is the greatest accomplishment of Andrew, because not giving in to greed and raising the membership costs, even though he has every right to do so, keeps a lot of people playing and creates an influx of new members.
  13. dam, someone is going to have a very tough conversation with his supervisor this week
  14. Man that is cruel. My friend thought he was safe, good password, bankpin and put all his stuff in his bank before logging out, everytime. Then he got hacked and since the hacker couldn't get anything (bankpin ftw!) he went out trying to scam people on my friends account. He tried password scamming, item scamming, enough to get 3 black marks. One of them got removed and he got his account back, but there's still 2 black marks on it so no chance of ever becoming a playermod. Hackers are just pathetic in getting someone banned if they can't get any money from their account.
  15. ROFL I imagine him sitting behind his desk with only a clock and a big red button on it. Completely stressed out, continuesly watching the clock to push the big red "update" button on time. High risk for burn-out

I'll go try it on one of my old and never again used f2p accounts.
  17. I'd use whip with torag till my health was down to 30-40% then use guthans to heal
  18. You bumped up this one year old post because...?
  19. now that is just asking for the thread to go off topic  If you think sodium is bad, certainly don't pee on francium, that will completely remodel your bathroom and probably level your house in the process  on topic: don't log in on your runescape account on public computers or at a friends house
  20. Why the colored text? It kinda hurts my eyes reading it... Anyways, to get into the mining camp you need to have started the quest Tourist trap. You obviously did start it but I don't think you have finished it since the guards still jail you. Probably when you finish the quest you can walk around in the mining camp and get to the chest for your clue.
  21. Are you serious with those estimates about renting a POH patch? It might just be a personal thing but I would never bid more then 10k for showing my house to the rest of runescape. I also don't see how setting up a shop in a 20+ million patch of land would ever happen or be profitable to anyone unless they would get a weeks monopoly on their product (like that would ever happen  ) I completely agree with you on the subject of money drains, but this topic actually presents the biggest, although completely unintentional, moneydrain. 2.1B gp cash removed from the economy instantly, that's probably more then all barrows armor and crystal equipment has removed in total. Another possible moneydrain which I have been thinking about for a while is a sort of auction house in which sellers can put their product up for sale for a certain amount of time. You would need to pay an amount of money to put it up for sale, which could be related to the general store price (phats and santas would pose a problem with this I guess) and you could enter a minimum price you would like to sell the item for. When the auction is over the money is put directly into your bank or, if nobody made the minimum bid, your item is returned to either your bank or you need to go and pick it up at the auction house. Buyers could place a bid on the item and from this a percentage could be taken aswell, but only from the winning bidder. When you place a bid the cash, including the percentage, would be taken from your inventory and when someone outbids you it could be returned to your bank. I realize that merchants would not like this very much because the margins on sales would become smaller, but an auction like this would never completely eliminate person to person trade. It would just be a solution for people that do not want or do not have the time to sell or buy their items. I'm not so sure about your solution with the level based percentage high alchemy failure. I think more and more people would switch to teleporting to camelot untill they reach a magic level at which they are satisfied with the amount of failure. The 0% failure should be placed at a very high lvl preferably around 92. People at this level usually have sufficient money to not stand around for days alching. One problem with the solution we are thinking up to change the high alchemy spell is that it is now a very important part of the mage training area. The goal of the arena is to let low level mages train by using different kinds of spells with xp and outfit rewards. If the alchemists area was affected by the level based failure, low level mages would have a pretty hard time getting their alchemy points.
  22. They improved the magic secateurs to prune diseased trees  I don't think many people watch after their own trees, seeing as they take a LOT of time to get fully grown. I am glad I can store them at the tool leprechauns though That mole thing sounds quite good aswell, a new way to get seeds and nests. No more swinging an axe at a tree for hours on end :D The canoes sound completely like I expected, interesting for a week or so, nobody will use it regularly after that.
  23. 1. October 2004 - accidentally attacked a man lvl 2, ran like hell  2. November 4th 2005 - my first dragon drop, d med from fire giants 3. Februari 2006 - reaching my first lvl 99, fletching 4. Februari 2006 - reaching one of my long term goals lvl 70 smithing :) 5. March 2006 - last sunday, really enjoyed it because I was finishing ME pt2
  24. I would have to disagree with high alching going to be rarely used. If not for monetary use, it is the only spell you can use for hours on end with the cost of very few runes compared to the magic xp gained. Even if you would cut the production xp in half and give the other half plus a 10% bonus when the product is sold for xp, people would still want to high alch part of their produce to get back what the raw materials costed them. And that is exactly where the problem is: When I want to go from 85 to 99 fletching I need to chop or buy 53k magic logs. Not many people have just 53M to spare and buy that 99. So most people work with the method of buying as many magic logs as you can, alch their produce, buy more logs, alch, buy, alch, buy, etc. People simply want their money back and make a profit if possible. With selling your produce for xp, you don't make your money back and you certainly don't make a profit, so most people won't use this method. From an economic point of view your solution would be perfect, but when the high alchemy spell would remain in game I don't think many people would prefer to sell for xp rather then for money.
