  1. If you're gonna do Kurask or Turoth slayer tasks, the only way to go is range them. Melee is a bad idea since the leafbladed spear is a horrible weapon (I've seen potted lvl 123s hit zero upon zero with it), magic won't pay itself back unless you grow a lot of cats and barrow a lot. What I do is everytime I go for a new slayer task I bring 6 or 7k and buy broad arrows to keep my stock around 1k arrows for an average cost of 65 each. This will pay itself back easily, Turoth drop clues and high herb seeds (and mystic bottoms, but they seem to be very rare), Kurask drop rune longs, addy plates and clues (and mystic tops, but again very rare). I once had a Kurask task of about 150 which left me with 6 rune longs, 8 addy plates and a clue. The longs and plates alched for a nice 150k and the clue allways gets you some nice rune items.
  2. In the Enchanters Theatre of the Mage Training Area, no you can't take them with you.

Hmm, good one. That wasn't there yet when I did it, but I suggest running like hell, maybe with a protection prayer.
  4. I already got bones to peaches, but am still going for guthans. As you said there are monsters guthan works better with (Gargoyles, Fire Giants), but for some bones to peaches is a much cheaper alternative (Daganoth, Dust Devils). For the enchantment points go for the d stones that spawn. Pick all 6 up, enchant, worldhop, repeat. This way I got 2400 points with only 200 cosmics used (lvl 87 magic though).

Be sure to multiples of each item part, just click continue a lot, receive the item, drop it, say you've lost it, get another, repeat as much as desired, pick the other ones up. Try and go there at the non-peak times, I had the C-path aswell, didn't see a single pker.
  6. I doubt it, I got my full zombie during a Kurask slayer task. They drop normal bones and my assignment was only 150 kills. I got both emotes during a Turoth task, again normal bones and not that much kills.
  7. Some of your money amounts are indeed wrong. The only amounts I've ever gotten are 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640 which makes sense because every number is double the previous one. No cosmic talisman in 100 boxes? I get loads of those, I think I have some 30 cosmic tiaras in my bank :?
  8. Yea, it takes some getting used to but I love them now, I'll take a puzzle over wilderniss coordinates every day.
  9. Heh, when I read the title I was thinking along the lines of stat improving belts, like berserker or warrior (even though they might want to make them a little more original  ) I think belts that hold items are over the top, you can already carrry 28 items in you pack and use them instantly, which seems kinda weird to me (you try pulling a 2 handed sword from your backpack and at the same instant put your bow in there). Especially the rune belt seems to give a huge advantage to mages.
  10. This already exists: crab meat. It's found in the under water area for recipe for disaster, when you kill a crab it drops meat that turns into 5 stackable food items when cooked. I'm not sure if you can stack the meat of more then 1 crab, but since it only heals 1 per bite it's not very practical. Another thing that heals more then your average shark or tuna potato are baskets of strawberries. They carry 5 strawberries each which heal either a % of your health or a fixed 6 (30 hp per basket). All you need to remember is to keep one inventory spot open to get the strawberry out of the basket.
  11. Lvl 28 hobgoblin  I had fought hobgoblins in Baldur's Gate before and they are easy to kill, so I figured that this hobgoblin would go down just as fast. He didn't and I lost my precious full leather and accuracy ammy  My first death on members was from poison (of course) in the Taverly dungeon. I was doing scorpion catcher and lost my scorpion cage and 15k that I had on me for some reason. The concept of allways carrying a teleport item I learned there and then.
  12. For 100M+ fletching is not really an option. I fletched 54k magic longs from lvl 85 to 99, which got me about 35-40M, but it took me 3 months. It also means you need starting cash to buy the magic logs and you will have to pick and spin the flax yourself. You can of course do it in less time, but you will probably go screaming mad with all that fletching, flax picking, flax spinning, stringing (especially stringing), runecrafting, high alching, repeat. If you want to go staking for those amounts of cash you'd almost certainly have to make a new account to be succesfull and pump a lot of money in it to start with. That would leave you with rcing which provides a steady income (a little less since pure ess was introduced) or merchanting which you need to be good at to get a steady income. Personally I can't stand waiting in Falador park world 2 all day to get a seller/buyer, but I'd say it's your best bet to get that amount of cash in a legitimate way. EDIT: a nice little moneymaker that goes with all of the above is growing ranars. Just buy the seeds at 15-20k and plant at all 4 allotments, then go do something else like fletching or merchanting, after 75 minutes get back there, harvest (6-7 herbs per seed) and replant. Since ranars can sell up to 7k each you can make up to 34k profit per seed.
  13. Knives and darts are faster, but have a lower max hit and less range bonus then wielding a bow. If you are going to use knives or darts you need to compensate for the lower range bonus with other equipement: zamorak prayer book gives +8 range attack bonus, snake skin boots give +3, ranger boots give +8, fremmenic archer helmet +6, robin hood hat +8 and of course get the best dragonhide armor you can wear. The best for training would definately be knives/darts, if you make them knives are best. For pking no range attack beats a magic short special with rune arrows.
  14. Your best bet is to fight the leeches, they have only 10 hp and not that high defence. On the west side of the abyss is a spot where there are no abyssal walkers (which hit you pretty hard) or guardians and there are 3 or 4 leeches there that spawn pretty quickly. Just 3 item it with some food, I usually get my pouches within 30 minutes.
  15. You can't exactly go there with nothing on since you need to slash some webs between the tele house and the also in the mage bank tele house. What most people don't know is that you can use a knife for this. It's a bit slower because you need to use the knife with the web, but even if they do get you you won't lose anything. Another thing to get there safely is play on the hours when there's only 30k people online. These are mostly weekdays before the US wakes up and after they go to bed or sunday mornings before noon US time. Oh and don't be ashamed of not having done the mage arena at your lvl, I'm 88 magic and still can't do god spells, although I did get the cape a while ago. I'm also a chicken when it comes to going into the wilderniss, but once you do it more often you get used to it. I do wilderniss clue coordinates without trouble now, it's a matter of knowing what to do, sort of an emergency plan. You start with 'oh I see a dot on my minimap, now what?', I never log immediately, he/she might be on a clue just like me. When it's more then 1 dot, log out. If the dot turns out to be a solo pker and attacks me I put on protect item and drop my spade and watch, so the 4 items I keep are my dds, clue, chart and sextant. If I'm not dead by then I try and spec the pker, which usually doesn't help, but sometimes they run (85 strength might be the cause of that too, with a little luck I can spec double 21 :o ).
  16. I got a green (g) body from a treasure trail and thought I'd sell it in world 1. Since I didn't see anyone selling one I figured that 100k would be a fair price, so that's what I said. Within seconds I was jumped by merchants, hoping to make a quick gp out of my bad knowledge of prices. I played them against each other a bit and walked away with 155k and a rune plate and legs, which is highly overpriced if you ask me, but I'm not complaining :D
  17. from the tai bwo minigame: probisces

Right, nice generalization there: "everyone with high skills has no education, no job and lives in their parents basement". FYI you can skill on a 10 hour a WEEK basis, it's a matter of effeciency, which can be fun to some people (myself for example). I play a little over 1 hour on weekdays. When I log on I make a trip past 3 allotments (port phasmatys, falador, catherby) to plant herbs, flowers and vegetables if I have any. After that I go work on another skill for a while, this could be a slayer task or a non-combat skill, whatever I feel like. When my herbs on the first patch are done I make the same trip past the 3 allotments, harvest and plant new seeds AND THEN I LOG OFF  Don't be so narrowminded to say that everyone with high skills has to have no life and live in their parents basement.
  19. Even though brimhaven is a lot of fun doing for a while, it's not worth it in terms of xp. It takes about 17 hours to get 1k tickets since the arrow moves once per minute. For this you get 320k xp plus the xp of the obstacles you pass. But if you calculate your xp per hour it comes down to 5.4k xp per hour (Yes, I'm very sure of this, I've gotten 1k tickets there twice). The monkey course and wilderniss course are comparable in xp, monkey course is a bit less, but has no pkers, so no need for world hopping. At 71 agility I hardly fail the monkey course, from 74 onwards I haven't failed once. Without energy pots/strange fruits monkey course is 42k xp per hour, with pots 60k+ per hour depending on your how much you're paying attention.
  20. I know I'm gonna love this update: improved game, improved chat, better anti-macro stuff. I'm so looking forward to hearing the sounds of rs again since I had to patch my internet back together six months ago. And the chat system... I'm kind of a spelling/grammar freak, even though English is my second language I try and type everything correctly, without abreviations. The first thing I'm gonna do when I log in is pay a visit to the f2p yew trees, in the hope of finding just a couple of autoers, if any. What I'm wondering is if Jagex will remove some of the more annoying random events if their new anti-macro system is proved effective. I mean if there are no more autoers, why should random events exist?
  21. I love doing good deeds on RS: I loaned one friend 250k when he just got scammed out of that same amount (big bones- d bones swap  ), I'm really not expecting it back unless he makes it big in merchanting. I gave two of my friends a members starting pack consisting of mystic hat boots and gloves, dueling rings, games necklace, glory, wealth, ring of life, snake boots, magic short, addy boots and some laws.
  22. That's a no-brainer: I'd be a penguin in the Ardougne zoo. Penguins are cool 8-)
  23. banned for thinking people eat frogs feet while it's actually the legs they eat
  24. Aww, at first I thought you meant something different with the bold part. More like "you're as rich as feel you are" or "being rich isn't about having a lot of money" It looks like it's going to be a great guide and I heard you are pretty succesfull at making money. Even though I hardly ever go out to 'make money' I'm looking forward to see more of your methods for when I get back to some serious slaying and will need Guthans and cannonballs. Making money through skills is currently breaking even for me with other skills so I'm allways looking out for good techniques to do for a short time and then get back to skilling :D
  25. I remember one from someone signature, it was a pm from a jagex mod (gold crown), think it was Andrew not sure I have to start putting pics like that on my harddrive for moments like this: From Mod Andrew: Oi! Gimme back my boxers! From Mod Andrew: Oh **** wrong person, sorry. I make a lot of random comments, most are from Monty Python: Ni! Shrubberies! You shall cut down the mightiest tree in the forrest with... A herring! You gotta love the reactions from people, most think there's something wrong with you, others ignore you (quite understandable  ), some people even join me  Oh and the weirdest thing someone ever did to me was stand next to me in a bank for like 5 minutes, we were both fletching, then he said 'Boo!', followed by 'Scared ya didn't I' :?
