  1. In Canada the ratings are a lot less severe than in the US. Most of the DVDs sold in Canada are produced in the US so they stick the Canadian ratings sticker on top of the movie packaging and in a lot of cases it is less severe than the American rating and it is never more severe.

And maybe having two fathers or mothers may have made you an even better person than now; how is this an argument for anything. It wasn't an argument. I was asking Bluelancer a question out of curiosity.

Do you agree that generally, it is better for a child to have both a mother and a father? I mean, what would you rather have had as a child? I live with a single parent - my dad - and I'd say it's made me a better person. Obviously though, mine is only one case and others would argue otherwise. Well exactly, and you can't really take scenarios like that because you just don't know. Having both a mother and a father may have made you an even better person than now.

  5. Wait, telling people what to think now? That wouldn't be something a democratic government should be doing. Yeah, that's for the popular media and other kids your age to do. They're a much more reliable source.
  6. Dryer sheets.
  7. Last time I checked FF was open source meaning that FF has the potential for infinite options. Not to mention the thousands of add-ons already existing for it.
  8. The problem is that the people trying to pass the bill are assuming that human procreation is the only reason people are opposing gay marriage.
  9. Why would they want to wait until after Xmas on purpose? Because if people think the PS3 is going to come out in the new year, they won't buy other consoles for Christmas. If they knew beforehand that there was going to be a delay (a 9 month delay), many people would say "screw PS3" and go for the other console for Christmas.
  10. I don't feel sorry for Sony at all. Their announced delay "coincidentally" one month after Christmas was ridiculous.

i can remmember the first time when i sliced some kath hounds with my sabre If I remember correctly I had to play ~8hours before I became a Jedi. But I'm one of those people that does every single side quest, and then after I do those I wander around the planet for an hour looking to see if I missed anything at all. And I'd agree, it is the best RPG ever made. I was addicted the second I walked out of my hideout in Taris.
  12. I log onto the forums during school. I have large breaks, upwards of 4 hours so I really have nothing better to do sometimes.

We've got like a foot of snow here in Southern Ontario and -30C windchill.
  14. Something tells me you're trying to get us to do your homework for you...
  15. What Locke meant is that we wrote about God existing before we were alive. Like "God has always existed". That is before we were able to imagine about God. So we wrote about God "existing before we imagined him". I think you were reading it: We wrote about God existing "before we imagined him".
  16. I would say no. I would say sinning is acting not according to God's character. Thus if God does something, it is according to his character and not a sin.
  17. I believe it is the heart behind the choice - saying no to God is saying "I can do life on my own" - the whole message of Christianity is "I can't do life on my own, I need God" - and this independent attitude of doing life without God is what God so strongly dislikes, or hates, if you will. All of this "It's my life, I can do what I want, worship what I want, believe what I want", I believe is coming from a selfish and flawed mindset - if God exists (which is what this topic assumes), then it's not *your* life - God is creator, and you belong to Him whether you like it or not. And just like aerodynamics can be applied incorrectly, so can free will, so can Christianity. Just like there are bad Christians, there are bad choices, we can freely choose not God, and it's a bad choice, IMO. So if you dislike God, you do not choose Him - that is what the definition of "hell" is... seperation from God - so you're getting exactly what you want, if you choose *not* God during your life on earth - you're choosing *not* God for after - all of this physical pain and suffering is located in the book of Revelation and that is most likely the most symbolic book in the Bible - and even if there is pain and suffering, it will not compare to the non-presence of God - which will be of more pain - after all, mind over matter, n'est pas? So I don't see it fair for atheists who think they should be able to choose *not* God - and then find it unfair when that's what they get afterwards - to expect God to put them in heaven (which by defintion, is the presence of God - the very thing an atheist would abhorr), seems ludicrous to me.
  18. Wow, that's crazy. Hope you get well soon Adam!
  19. It's called FireFox2.
  20. And it would be even stupider to kill someone because of their metaphysical beliefs. You can't ignore the fact that the person doing the killing is the one responsible here. Maybe you could think up a better scenario that better illustrates your point because this current one just doesn't do it for me.
  21. Guess I forgot to mention this, but most Christians I know also don't think they're going to Hell because they made a short lie to save their family. Your entire situation is fallacious in that you blame the Christian for dying and letting their family "starve", when the terrorist is clearly the primary cause of it. You place a terrorist in the situation but then somehow magically forget about the terrorist when placing blame.
  22. ~Improves your mood ~Increases your alterness and reaction time ~Warms you up in the winter ~Let's you get out of lot's of sticky situations by taking a "Smoking break" ~Gives you a "Sexier" voice over time Non-smokers don't need a mood improvement - the reason a cigarette improves your mood is because you're addicted, and so you're going to be in a bad mood until you fulfill that addiction. Warms you up in the winter? I always thought most people smoked outdoors, you know, where it's cold? Non-smokers would just walk inside and warm themselves without filling their lungs with crap. Sticky situation avoidance? Give me a break. If you need to smoke to avoid a sticky situation, then you suck at coming up with excuses, AND you're a problem avoider, which isn't a good thing either. As for the sexy voice, get real. Smokers voice/cough/smell/breath is just nasty. What the hell? You're going to die eventually, so you may as well spend tons of money on something that will kill you faster? As if smoking lets you "live life to the full". Last time I checked, living life to the full included some sort of physical activity that involves a good cardio system - not sitting on a couch or taking a puffer every 30mins because you can't breathe.
  23. Once you get out of high school they "normalize".
  24. If you had read my post you would see how I used science to analyze the situation. Maybe you can use science to show how science is an inadequate measure of the start of the universe, but you can't use science to analyze God or find something out about him. All you can use science for is to make a negative claim about science - not a positive claim about God. Anyways, an interesting note about the argument presented (that you addressed, but indirectly), is that the second law of thermodynamics states that all matter and energy eventually break down in a closed system. Some people get around this by saying that the universe is possibly an open system. Which leads to your paradox, what is fueling our open system, and what caused that?
