About 3 years of Java and 1 of C, looked over some x86 and z80 assembly, but never wrote anything. I would find it hard to take a computer science class in school. I would pry end up in a lot of arguments with the teacher over the way it should be done. Once you know the syntax to the language you kind of want to do things your way the things that they can be done a few different ways. A halfway decent teacher wouldn't be like that, or so I hope. Unless they are teaching a specific data structure/algorithm, it should not matter to the teacher if you do things differently, so long as you reach the objective set out by the teacher. Oh, and if you already know the language, most of the time (in my High School at least) there is a lot of free time to code whatever you want.

I did get the pot blessed, which is why I am confused. I can try again, just to make sure though. --- Ok, that was the problem. I don't know why it didn't work the first time I tried to get it blessed. Thank you :D

Currently I am trying to do desert treasure, but I seem to be unable to kill Dessous. Whenever he reaches 0 hp he says "You will never defeat me mortal!" and is completely healed. I have looked all over for an explanation of why this may be occurring, but have not found anything to explain it. As far as I know, I am doing everything correctly. My typical inventory consists of: -Ectophial -Silver pot (with spiced blood) -2 prayer pots -Druid pouches -23 sharks I melee and mage pray. So far I have attempted to kill him 4 times, and this last time I did enough damage to kill him twice, yet each time he regenerated. Am I missing something or do I need some other item?

RWT is back and strong. How to combat it now?
Zarovin replied to eatrunearrow's topic in General Discussion
yanksrule, your argument that buying money is "Smarter not harder" could be applied to any form of cheating. "Action replays make the game more fun for me, so who cares?" or "Modding Halo allowed me to get that 50 in Lone Wolves in only an hour, so it must be smarter than playing fair." The bottom line though, is that every game has rules that are to be followed while playing. These rules are in place to keep the game fair for everyone. Claiming that it's not fair that a 15 year old has more time to put into a game, or the obsessive ability to play for 15 hours picking flax or something is not fair is like saying that a person who works overtime shouldn't get paid because you have a life and can't work overtime. They put the time in, they get the rewards. If money is a big concern, learn ways to make money while still having fun. I am in no way a rich player. The most I have ever had was 6.5 mil, and I just spent all of that on full guthans. My method of making money is simple. I play the game how I want, when I want, and don't worry about the people getting 21 mil a go at the gwd. Because who cares? It is just a game. If you can't have fun within the rules of the game, you should not be playing the game. As you state, "This game isn't a race, it's a game." By defending RWT and money buying, you are rendering your argument void. You are the one turning the game into a race, because you feel that you have to catch up to those above you and you can't do that without cheating. Jagex's official position on RWT is that they don't want you to be able to buy your way to success in their games. To see their whole argument against it, go here, Runescape Knowledge Base. They will never allow the purchase of money in their game. And I, for one think that is a great stance. All game money should be generated in game, and not bought. After all, look what would happen. Jagex releases a way to buy money, people all go out and buy -x- cash to get item -y-. However, now that everyone has the money to buy it, demand outweighs supply by a large factor and as a result the price of items skyrocket. People get angry that they wasted money and didn't get the item they wanted, jagex gets rants, complaints, etc. The exact opposite would be true of releasing a way of buying items. Everyone rushes to buy their godsword/3rd age or whatever, and this sudden influx of items causes supply to outweigh demand by a large factor and the prices crash. People now write rants and complaints that they spent money on what is now a worthless piece of data on a server they will never see. No matter how they try to implement it, they lose. My final statement on this subject is that rules are there for a reason, and breaking them for enjoyment is the equivalent of a joyride in someone else's Ferrari. It is wrong and you will be punished. Slightly more on topic, limiting the game play to eliminate the threat of RWT is something I can't see Jagex doing. No matter what you think about it, many people play for long periods of time, many more probably than even pk'ed, and as such Jagex would lose a greater base of players by doing so. The wilderness and pking was a feature of the game, not a core element like skilling. By removing pking and the wilderness, Jagex was removing an area, by limiting skilling Jagex would be changing the core elements of the game. Runescape is still Runescape for the majority of players, even without pking and unbalanced trade. However, as soon as you start tampering with the core elements of the game no argument holds that Runescape would still be Runescape. The smart solution is to simply log IP's of known offenders and blacklist them. This isn't perfect, and nothing is. The fight against cheating is a reactive, not a proactive one. People can simply use a proxy, yet the added hassle of the proxy outweighs the benefits for most players. By routing their communications through a remote gateway they introduce extra latency and lag into the game, and the proxies themselves can be blacklisted, forcing them to find a new one. RWT would also take a hit, making it even harder for them to turn a profit. Each time the proxy they were using went down they would have a period of inactivity which would hurt their abilities to farm gold, in any way. The changes Jagex has made were not to eradicate RWT, but to hinder it in such a way as to make it harder, if not impossible, to turn a profit. They chose the course that would, in the end change the core of the game as little as possible, and I support them all the more for that. The easy way out would be to do as has been mentioned and stick a time limit or resource limit on the game, but the easy way is not always the best way. -
Beserker helm, Glory ammy, rune plate, rune plate legs, climbing boots, abbysal whip, Obby Shield, cooking gauntlets and ring of life. Gets me a nice +100 to str :D

Beastiary - Drop lists of Killerwatt & Chaos Elemental
Zarovin replied to Adam007's topic in General Discussion
Killerwats they definatly have a melee, though that is secondary. It seems like the main form of attack is mage based, though D hide armor does not seem to reduce damage at all. some one, attack them then run and get them stuck, try diffrent prayers. only soultion i can see. I would try this myself but ive gotta get to sleep... -
Tip.It Times Presents: English: Its Proper Form
Zarovin replied to oddfaery2's topic in General Discussion
I agree, but not totaly. Come on, if your trying to say something, and if your like me, you have to cut a few corners to not fall behind. That doesn't explain all of it though, because the rest is, as you say, them being lazy. Typing words with numbersin in (with the exeption of 8, I use that when im trying to buy or sell plate bodys). Other than that, as I hope you can tell, I try to use as much proper english as possible. -
The do's and dont's guide of the word "noob".
Zarovin replied to the_one27's topic in General Discussion
Do-when they steal a kill from you even when you ask them to stop. This isn't that big of a deal exept at tzharrs, where people at lvl 110 with full barrows go around taking kills so they don't have to use food. -
Get rid of all the scamers and noobs (not newbs, there is a diffrence). Oh what a day... :D

Tip.It Times: Five year Runescape anniversary!
Zarovin replied to Eeeeediot's topic in General Discussion
I joined sometime in 02, which was only a little after i got my first computer. unfortunetly, i only played occasionaly, and eventualy quit. I started again about 3 months befor Rs2. once that came out...well lets say i can't stand Rs1 anymore... This is because im not really a person who enjoys the comminity, so it doesn't effect my gaming experiance (sp?). in fact i find it funny when someone trys to scam me. Haven't been scammed once XD. -
I don't see why people get so irritated about threads discussing PoH's. If the thread was asking when they were coming out then i could understand it but.... For all you people out there saying it would create lag, no it wouldn't because Jagex isn't stupid enough to even theink about letting people build houses anywhere. They probably will have a gate that gives you a choice of visiting a specific persons house, or going to your own. House wouldn't be in any way connected to the main map. Also, your character is managed on a server other than the one you are playing on. Same thing with the friends (and ignores) list, so why couldn't they do the same for Poh's. It won't cost them that much more money, just maybe $500 to $1000 for servers, and then the additional cost of upkeep, the same thing that they do when they introduce more worlds.

Land Sales Would Save the Runescape Economy
Zarovin replied to r2-pleasent's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I Like this idea, but i think they should still do personal POH's. The plots of land could be used for clan halls so anyone can visit. also, if you wanted to join a clan then you could simply talk to a npc there. This is assuming that they add a very serious clan element to the game. -
~~Newer Bank Of Runescape~~ **Updated again 05/15/09**
Zarovin replied to Thagern's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Great idea! :D Honestly the best bank idea i have seen. -
It would be better if instead of a skill they introduced new armor and weps that were comparable to barrows, but required 70 agility, 70 attack, and 70 defence. The problem with the skill is how would you lvl up? If your answer is that the player would kill monsters, isn't that the same idea as slayer then?

Inflation in Runescape. Is it getting to be too much?

my point exactly :D -
Inflation in Runescape. Is it getting to be too much?
Zarovin replied to Jeffro108's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
The inflation on items like p hats is insane, but really in the long run prices have gone down, because more people are getting higher skills, so even if there is an increased demand, there is an increased supply. It might seem like some items are getting more exspensive, but that is normal in any truly diverse economy. all items will fuxuate around a genral average. PS. please don't comment on my spelling of some things, i know i misspelled them, but i am horrible at spelling, so im not going to bother with correcting the mistakes. -
Potential money sink from Carpentry : Clan Halls
Zarovin replied to Suzanne_Vega's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I like it, and i have something to add. you said something about a formal clan system, well what if they made a type of clan list that worked the same way as the friend list? -
It wouldnt' have to be any specific weapon, as long as jagex made sure to balence it so that duel weilding wasn't to good. I think that they should restrict weapons like whips though, cause they would be devestating. all in all, duel wielding would be a very good addition.
