Clan Support Update Continued
Theres the CIC, who's relativly active with disagreeing with one another till the end of days so nothing gets done... And theres The Conclave A behind the scenes (or atleast it was supposed to be untill someone added just about everyone he knew) project for the clanleaders and their staff where they can choose to cooperate on a number of aspects that all clans can debate about... Theres more in a thread I posted on the clan discussions forum... I think the previous thread was locked on request because this project is making progress according to the wishes of the other thread's starter, and at a pace that I havent seen anywhere else...

The Conclave - From Drawingboard to Forumboard
It has been a while, and it took many times of re-thinking and re-planning and with the recent updates it even took some scrapping of entire concepts, but its finally here... Wednesday December 19th, I and 3 other clanleaders were granted access to the (still) private forums of The Conclave, and to the usergroup to add the VIPs from our Clans as well... The Conclave is there for ALL clans who have their members post on Tip.it rather then another fansite, and it is aimed to generate a lot more traffic in the Clan section of these forums... Tip.it's clan section has long been quiet, and over the last good while (I think about a year now) some ideas were tried and ditched, some were only discussed and some never even got the attention they deserved... Tip.it staff themselves have already consented in providing these forums with un-biased mods, but the main thing this clan section here does not have over the others, are clans... The Conclave is a cooperation of clans, a leaderboard if you will, where the leaders and their staff or other vital people to this endeavour can discuss and execute plans as they are made... The idea is to make it attractive for clans to come here, and who better to make that happen then a cooperation of other clans? That's right, the clans currently working in The Conclave know what they want from Tip.it, and if they are not alone in such ways of thinking, then why not gather the support of others and just make your idea happen... If you, as a clan, like it, then surely other clans will like it too? As said The Conclave is there to debate and fine-tune those ideas and put them into practise... So far a few major ideas are being worked on; - The Clan Events team has tested the water, and passed, although it needed some refining... We're looking to get it going as soon as possible again... - The Conclave Academy is an idea still under heavy debate on how to execute it precisely, but it is supposed to make FA lists obsolete... Instead a joint venture where people will be tested by tutors from ALL clans part of The Conclave will be called into life, so that they may teach people who wish to be in a clan... The details are currently on the private Conclave boards, but I'm happy to explain the details with you... - An idea by Dbzruler72 was to have some sort of Clanwar Ranking system, which looks promising and very easy to execute, but it requires more clans to participate in this... Currently the (co-) founding clans (and their respective leaders) are: Tal Shiar Alliance (Ts Stormrage) Militos Deci (Bufoman) *-P.K. Masters-* (Dbzruler72) Guild of Elite Skillers (Wild Goat 14) If your clan has the lionshare of their members also post on Tip.it rather then anywhere else, then come and talk to us, and we'll let you in on all of it :) We'll keep you informed of The Conclave's progress untill such a time that we can go public...

Hmmm, Bandos Boots fubared? Boots discussion
I was looking at some of the stats of some items, specifically some footwear, and I noticed a lil something... Pretty much all boots have -3 magic and -1 range attack, but its the other stats that are curious to me... I will list form left to right the stats of the boots starting with Stab Slash and Crush defense, followed by Strength bonus and the defense level required is in parantheses... 10 - 11 - 12 - +1 <--- (30) Adamant 12 - 13 - 14 - +2 <--- (40) Rune 14 - 15 - 16 - +3 <--- (50) Granite* 16 - 17 - 18 - +4 <--- (60) Dragon 17 - 18 - 19 - +0 <--- (65) Bandos *Granite boots are worn by Dondakan in the Dwarven Mines of Keldagrim, he wont sell them, even if you offer 25m for them. They are no item in the game but I made a simple suggestion from the data available... Now its pretty obvious that the boots gradually get increased defense on the melee stats (+1 on all three stats for every 5 defense levels), and also a bonus strength point every 10 defense levels... Now instead of having a strength bonus, which would be very much in line with the other Bandos equippe (+4 on armor, +2 on legs) by the way, it has NO strength bonus, but is more of a hyped version of the white knight boots, with its 10 more melee defense points and +1 prayer bonus... I would have expected Bandos Boots to have atleast +4 strength as well... So what do you think... Someone dropped the ball on this? Is it intentional to make the Dragon Boots not go immediatly into the mothballs? Will they perhaps update it in the future? If so, how far will their price shoot up?

Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
I'm still in favor of a percentage difference rather then a cold hard number per 15 minutes... Allow a trade once every 15 minutes on f2p, once every 10 on p2p, and increase the slots you have on the GEX to double what it is now... On top of that, the percentage difference on what is on the left and right screen should indeed be done by participation of the game: 1% for every 10m xp 0.05% for every quest point 5% for the ammount of years you've been a member this would put me on 2% + 11.6 + 10% = 23.6% trade difference, allowing me to buy items worth 10 mil from my friend for ~7.6m This is ofcourse just an example, and for a casual player like myself this is more then doable... Also more factors can be put in, like Achievement Diaries, Minigames, and what not...

Why I'm unsubscribing (though I still may play)
I agree with Lime Mercury 110% as this is too the way that I play, but not just me alone... I lead a clan, and a large attraction about us is that we have shops inside the clan itself... This would mean a set exchange rate of 2 pure essence for 1 nature rune... Or the fact that you get 9 herbpoints for giving our higher level herblorists a single ranarr herb, and asking another for 2 hunter potions in return (basicly a store credit based shop)... I've written time and again about this trade update, but noone puts the frustration it has put on me as Clanleader where my clan has an entire system built on the possibility of free trade in better words then the thread starter... I know also why jagex does this and they do allow for an initial 3k and if you maxed at your questpoints to a maximum of 30k difference between the rigth and left half of a screen... 30k per 15 minutes... At the GEX one can easily overcome this, and trade for more profit but it is still not satisfactory, because from friends you KNOW you get the items when you trade, whereas 105 black dhide bodies have been sitting there ot be sold since forever... I have thought of many solutions to atleast grant us an opportunity as equal as the GEX does, and I have worded it out several times, but for reference sake, read here... My clan and since a short time ago, several others will keep on campaigning for making the left and right half of the screen based on a percentage, rather then a fixed value... It would still solve the rwt problems without damaging longtime relationships, and above all keep the trading business a free one (rather then being stuck to 6 slots) Did you know that a Power amulet is now worth 2.5k at the GEX? 2 months ago it was worth 10k...

New 138 maximum-F2P clans hit hard?
I'm hoping that the various calcs on the tipit site and in runescript for example, will take into account cmb level with and without summoning...

So I snal mailed Jagex..
And it STILL looks like an automated message :P

Running and hiding in clan wars...
Who says you have to chase them... grab a bow and arrow and *bang*, grab a nature rune and some waters and earths, and see if he still runs...

Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
And how long does it take for 1 single bot to get the massive ammounts of cash for that very phat...?
-
Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
Quests require effort that can't be macroed (like exp) so it's ideal for a limit. 5% of 0 = 0, you forget that I said the QP dependant MINIMUM!

Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
Yeah they should add thigns like achievement diary and stuff like that... someone explained a while back with a number of examples that could possibly increase your trade limit... But can we stick on topic please and discuss the uses of a percentage based value rather then a fixed ammount?

Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
Hurray, I like the way they are changing the updates that we all hated... Single combat PvP, supposedly similar to the wild, is coming, and they are making the GEX more dynamic... But, ok, you worked your beehind off to complete all the quests, and still; the maximum you can give a friend is a FIXED number (30k)... Allow me to explain (again): I get a nice drop from a clue scroll worth around 2 million, but lo and behold, I have one already and my friend does not... Lets asume for a second that the percentage of the GEX you can make profits on per trade stays at the 5% it is now... 2m minus 30k is 1.970.000 2m minus 5% is 1.900.000 My friend is better off buying it from the GEX then he is getting it from me, does that not sound wrong to you?... The switch between buying from me and buying from the GEX being more profitable happens at 600k, as 5% of 600k is 30k... Tell me Jagex, how many people who played so long that they completed ALL quests, have no friends at all? How many quest-capers are dealing still with low level items with a worth of less then 600k per trade (just notice the total skill requirement of all quests)? The answer to both questions is: very very little... Most people who stuck with the game long enough to complete ALL quest also made a few geepee on the side and have levelled their skills sufficiently that they deal in whips and barrow-levelled items, or skilling items in large ammounts (meaning way more then 600k worth a trade)... You better plan on a major crash of the economy, where all prices fall back to their alch value, otherwise your update still kills the 'free' trading system... And that is even without considering that the 30k limit is only allowed once per 15 minutes, and trading at the GEX can potentially be done instantaneous... I propose that you also make it a percentage, with a bottom limit... 30k when all quests completed, 3k when none, good enough, but... People who have been friends for a week should be able to have left and right half of the trade-window differ by as much as 5% (similar to the GEX) but with a minimum difference depending on the questpoints... And since this can hardly be added up to something, allow only 1 trade every 15 minutes, no matter what (bye bye beggars)... 1 week: 5% 2 weeks: 10% (meaning you can buy an item worth 2 m for 1.8m from a friend, but remember you can trade only once per 15minutes) 1 month: 25% (2m vs 1.5m, 20m vs 15m, and 32k vs 2k cuz of the 30k minimum depending on qp ofc) 6 months: 50% 1 year: 100% It cant be too hard to implement as almost the exact same things are done at the GEX... I know this is partly a suggestion, but it is also to give an example of how it SHOULD be done rather then how Jagex think they can control it...

I did some Interesting math... and Runescape = Communism
And what about friendly trades? Theres no way you can give a bday present after the 3k rule is implied... No way to hand out supplies for clanwars...

Luckily they are going to change how the GE works, as well as how trading is going to work (down with the 3k rule!)... This can be read on the news archives of runescape.com

The issues with Jagex proposed trading system
Stormrage's law: Ditto as Godwins law, but then with mentioning Godwins Law...

I did some Interesting math... and Runescape = Communism
They have looked in taking a cut in allowing RWT (or so they claim, I'm sceptic about everything now), but it wouldnt work because there'd always be people trying to get out of the developper cut... But if they eased up on the trading restrictions on all fronts (GEX percentage, 3k limit, price manipulation, price ceilings and floors and what not), it'd still be hard to transfer any sizable ammount of cash... Especially so if you have a requirement, as suggested, of being friends for a certain ammount of time, or in someone's clan for a good while (the limit could increase incrementally overtime)... It will still be worthless for RWT's to exploit in this game, especially if Jagex sold their own geepee at like $5 per 1m (rates of geepee increased to $15 per 1m by now as far as I udnerstand it)... Then still for all of this to work, 6 for p2p, 2 for f2p... Those ammount of slots are just too little indeed to work properly... On top of that comes Jagex' obvious price manipulation, and entering items into the GEX at will...

Money transfer limit based on "character development"?
I like the idea, but you may wish to up your numbers a bit, as I still cant borrow a set of guthans from my friend

RuneScape LIVES!
Wait, they never got to crack down on R2Pleasant? About 8 months ago (if memory serves) he got banned from these forums admitting he RWT-ed and advertised for it... Jagex took NO action to stop this?

Goldfarmers, Bots, and RWT'ers arent going anywhere...
The could have bots do a lemmingrun and drop 3k at a time...
