  1. Ain't that the truth... :) *waves back*

  2. Can we expect an apology to the admins from each and every one of the TEF members now? Nah, just happy the e-mail is posted and the saga is over.
  3. Yes, I care. I was like many of the teens here; skinny and could eat just about anything without gaining weight. As someone else mentioned, your metabolism changes sometimes in your 20's - regardless if you are active or not. I didn't care at that point, which meant I put on quite a lot of weight over time. My BMI passed 25, and I noticed the physical changes too late to catch up. After a year or so, I managed to lose most of the surplus weight. At 20, that wasn't a huge challenge, seeing as I had plenty of time to be physically active. A few years ago, I noticed that my weight was increasing again - this time caused by health reasons, which in turn the weight gain made worse. This time I chenged my eating habits (finishing the plate is not a must, only serve portions at the table and always wait 10 minutes before going for a second serving) and started working out regularly. My BMI went from 26 to a healthy 19-20 in about a year, and I have maintained it since. Why should you care about your weight? Most importantly for health reasons. You're not immortal, and your bad habits from when you are young can come back and haunt you later, when you have a lot more to risk, such as children/family, work, economy and property. Appearance. How other people perceive you is a lot based on first impression. Overweight =/= lazy, but unless you show that you have a lot of energy, it can definitely count against you in a job interview where you compete with a selection of top tuned applicants. Since overweight increases the risk of several diseases, many people in the position of hiring choose to avoid those with weight issues to decrease the risk of work days lost. In addition to this, you are less likely to get chosen for jobs where you need to look presentable, and the number of jobs where this is important is increasing. Self worth. If you don't care about your weight and the consequences, you aren't the best you that you can be. Apathy in any form will at some point make you feel bad, and everyone should feel that they deserve to be as healthy as possible, have a nice environment where you live (whether it being an apartment, a dorm room or a house), a job/study and people in your life that treat you well. If you settle on these things, you are likely to regret it later. Life is too short for regrets. :)
  4. Confirming site & requirements.
  5. I did not twist any words (neither will I wait to post my reply for a week), and I have read through the full log. :) There was no need to search for anything either, as this was said in the very beginning of the conversation. I did not search for "incriminating" statements, I was just pointing it out as Soma and Curtis mentioned the bans. I see no problems with bringing up actual evidence in a topic like this - especially when it was posted by someone else in the first place. Don't shoot the messenger. Or quoter. The whole conversation is still there for anyone and everyone on this topic to read, so if people want the full context they can just read the whole conversation - or a bigger part of it. As I have said before to others; there are constructive and less constructive ways to go about it if you want rules changed. World 2 Fally riots is rarely effective, neither is being overly argumentative on a forum. Saying this as a user of several forums, where I have influenced both the rules and moderation processes. And a side note: I think I have played RS long enough and have the RS experience and levels to actively participate in this discussion aswell. :-P
  6. Funnily enough it was said (by one of the efficientists) in the pasted logs that the bans were by the rules. [1:51:45 AM] The Ancient: is that fundamentally the admins, or at least mods, need to actually be active [1:51:47 AM] The Ancient: in forums and in game [1:51:55 AM] The Ancient: in forums because then they can make relevant judgments [1:52:03 AM] The Ancient: instead of appearing to come out of nowhere [1:52:09 AM] The Ancient: cause that's how you generate trustworthiness [1:52:15 AM] The Ancient: and street cred L0L [1:52:23 AM] The Ancient: for example [1:52:26 AM] The Ancient: jimmy jim's bans [1:52:28 AM] The Ancient: came out of nowhere [1:52:32 AM] The Ancient: i mean they were by the rule [1:52:33 AM] The Ancient: fine [1:52:39 AM] The Ancient: but i just have no idea who this guy is Yet all this cabbage was storming about unfair bans. I think that the pasted log was an interesting read, and it confirmed that less time should have been wasted on kittyfooting around.
  7. I will be bold and assume here, but normally the staff contact Jagex if there is doubt about rules. That's what we have done in the past, at least. So the "according to whom" is probably "according to someone from Jagex". Unless of course the practice has changed recently. :)
  8. In example; clans have been able to ask for private forums for them to use for clan matters. This has been especially useful for smaller clans who haven't had the man power to create and maintain a forum on their own, or clans who have appreciated the extra security we have compared to other free forums. There are also private planning forums for events such as the CLan Tournament, in addition to various staff and site/forum content planning forums. None of these have strict moderation, as the usergroups who have access are very small and they can keep things on topic and as clean as necessary. Administrators have access to all forums, including private ones. This does not mean they are invited or welcomed to post in them, but they can check if there are reports or there are suspicious posting patterns. In my time, I have never had to butt in on a forum I didn't have posting priviledges on, so it's not a power that gets abused.
  9. A correction: It's not placed in lvl 74 Wilderness, as several different levels have been shown in that exact spot - ranging from -70ish to 150ish on my main and newbie accounts. Jmods have tested it, and as it is in an instanced area they have chosen not to correct it. Which leaves us with a funny little glitch to screenie and laugh about. Could call it an easter egg... /horrible pun
  10. Just reread that PM discussion, and I have to correct you: Two admins (the ones who had stated an interest in the forum) actively participated and posted properly, and another replied aswell - in a positive manner. Using this to justify breaking the rules wouldn't hold up in court, that's all I'm saying. :)
  11. Earth Talismans (noted) are also from the RoW drop table.
  12. While I always welcome new ideas and forums, I am disappointed to see the way it arrived. Throwing tantrums and making ultimatums should not be the way to get things through; suggesting and negotiating is the way to go about it. I know for sure I am not the only user who thinks this. I hope that the forum will be reviewed often, to see if the goals set when creating it have been reached. :)
  13. So if I wanted my Clan Chronicle articles and all the Clan rules and info posts removed, that should be done? It would not take too much time. What about all my posts? It requires very few clicks. And no, I don't want this, but I think that those pushing for removing said guide are doing it for all the wrong reasons. There is a difference between wanting to be associated with a clan highscore list that others set up, and taking responsibility for something you posted by simply doing nothing and leaving it up.
  14. If people want to leave the forums, why can't they just do so silently and quickly instead of making such a deal about it? Either make the point and move on or stay, adapt and try to influence positively.
  15. Both Ginger_Warrior and myself asked a question direkted to those who believes that it's ethically wrong for Tip.It to have the IP of content that forum members have written. Would you also be okay with it if former Crew members or other members of Tip.It staff or similar didn't want their work used by Tip.It anymore? After all, they've most likely spent more time and have more content (all kinds of guides, databases, Tip.It Times or Clan Chronicle articles, forum rules etc) on the site and forums than others. In the end this would mean a huge extra workload for the existing staff, and less time to spend on seemingly more important and up to date projects.
  16. Would those of you who are against Tip.It owning your forum content also be okay with it if former Crew members or other members of Tip.It staff or similar didn't want their work used by Tip.It anymore? After all, they've most likely spent more time and have more content (all kinds of guides, databases, Tip.It Times or Clan Chronicle articles, forum rules etc) on the site and forums than others. Just would like to know if there are any limits to it, in your eyes.
  17. Awesome!! Needed something like this to cheer us up.
  18. I can't really relate to the accusations of horrible sexist comments in game, as I don't experience that. Maybe we just frequent different places or hang around different people? Or maybe it has something to do with a difference in sensitivity to the issue, as I don't get offended very easily - which means I don't take joking comments from people in a game as seriously. If someone says something seriously offensive I just simply ignore and report, and go on with my life. As I have mentioned in another topic, I have a favourite comment that I like to use in PvP: "I'm a girl. What's your excuse for fighting like one?" Goes both ways, laugh and use it to your advantage. :)
  19. Anything to make the clan forums (and other forums) more accessible IMO. :)
  20. Hope you're doing well. :)

  21. You always sound wrong, hun. ;)

Hoping to get internet up soon, they forgot to send the connection kit... But they remembered the bill, surprisingly enough.

  22. Happy birthday! :) Hugs
