You read it right, real world trading (RWT) is now going to get worse. The updates will stop trading gold to others but now RWT'ers will switch to selling RS accounts. Get ready to have all trianing spots crowded out by bots people! I know you are thinking people won't buy accounts but they will. This is actually the form of RWT I am most familiar with from RS1 as back then people mostly bought high level accounts along with buying RS gold. Previously adults (probably in their 30s) were buying RS gold so they could level faster and get good gear. Now they will buy a level 120 with a good bank and money making skills. Jagex won't be able to stop it either. As we have seen by now, they are powerless to really stop bots by banning them, all the RWT'ers do is to make yet another bot. Solutions? Thoughts?

Bounty Hunter is not pking, its multi war with huge teams. Solo pk is now dead, forever if Jagex doesn't update this which I think it 99.99% likely.

Even with all this, RWT won't die. They will just switch to selling high level accounts. Goodbye drop trading, gift giving, hello to 10000000000 bots crowding out legit players.

I have no idea what I will do yet. I'm giving it some time to sink in, I am upset at wildy changes.

If you've been playing since 2001 then you would know wilderness was just another step back from pking. There used to be pking all over the whole of RS. Wildy is resctricted to one area pk, now its even shrunk even more. :-w

*sigh* Yes this has been a very upsetting month. As a long time player myself who has played Rs since 2001 and got membership on the very day it was first available, I am greatly saddened by these drastic changes. I don't know if I can make it to your drop/quitting party but gl with it anyway.

You made your points quite well and I see exactly what you mean. I hope Jagex rethinks this but I somehow think they don't even care about pkers.

I went to f2p to do bounty hunter with a friend but I didn't realize he was 92 not 95 so I ended up all alone at high level cave (level 95+). I couldn't play Bounty Hunter at all as 10 players are required and each time I switched (8 times) I was the only person in the place. People stayed away from Bounty Hunter in droves, I hope Jmods saw this.

They could have at least made clan wars dangerous instead of safe. Where's the thrill, where's the adrenaline rush with wars if you lose nothing at all? I am also very unhappy that there is no more random pk or wilderness. It's a minigame, yeck.

I predict and increase in combat training bots as RWT people will now sell accounts, not gold. This is bad for all of us. :(

I love all of you guys! We totally owned the war with 10 times the amount of people the other sites had. Maxed out ops and around 400 people in edge bank who came very early. I think we had 500 or so people at the end, good job guys! I think I saw that! Yeah some guy was in green cape and screamed "RSC ftw" and we piled him. There were a lot of cape switchers.

Oh yeah Kristoffs! That was so long ago lol. Massive drama hahaha we used to have those everyday. Also, if you attacked someone chances were someone you knew would know him. One time a guy was attacking a friend of mine (Uriel666) so I helped my friend out. They run off to edge and like 5 minutes later Sir Elliot (4th or 5th highest in combat hiscores at the time) is beside me at hobs saying "Meili did you just attack Tertsi?" :ohnoes:

The golden age of Runescape Long ago and far away in a land that time has forgotten there was a game called Runescape, which people eventually realized was NOT Run-escape but Rune-scape. In this fair land all were good, true, loyal, brave and polite. Miniclip ends the Age of Innocence Then came the evil known as Miniclip. Runescape was listed as the best free online world on this site. And lo! Evil newbies poured forth in uncountable numbers from tutorial island. The once fair land of Runescape was covered in darkness. Thenceforth good was vanquished forevermore. Scammers, beggars, trash talkers and the like now ruled the once fair Lumbridge. What is Meili babbling about this time??? Well, in plainer talk, there is currently a feeling or popular idea that the old Runescape used to be good until it was advertised in Miniclip, which caused it to be flooded with annoying 12 year olds. An example of this is this quote from Tip It: I, for one, do not recall Runescape ever being noob-or-child-free. Never has everyone been always friendly and nice to me. Am I actually playing a different game from the person I quoted above? There have *always* been beggars, scammers, noobs, etc. for as long as I have been playing. The close friends I had back then were 12 (Who Da Best, ranked 3rd in combat hiscores) and Grubyyyyyyy. More than half of the players were kids. Lumbridge was full of people asking for cyber. :innocent: Try looking at my website and what you see there are people abusing bugs in the wilderness and what not. Scammers roamed freely and Jagex had to take several steps to reduce the number of their victims (ex. second trade screen, changing the look of bronze long sword so it doesn't look similar to drag long, etc.). Don't get me wrong, Rs was great then. We had a good community and everyone knew each other. However, it was NOT a noob-free paradise were everyone was nice and kind to everyone else. Such a place does not exist on the internet. no, he meant his house in rs, seeing that he was lvl 3 his house was prlly uber lame... never saw it. and yes, i guess i was kinda asking for it. lol. but it was just kinda strange to me, seeing that i am a guy, that some1 never even say"dang! ur hot" or " i<3 u..." they would just ask if i wanted 2 get laid.... pretty wrong if u ask me.... That is wrong for sure. Ew. BTW I also have people saying im a boy irl because "girls don't play RS they go for meals."

Yes, that's how it was. You'd join a killer team then find the wilderness full of your and their friends so instead of killing everything that moves in the wilderness you end up going "Hey Sander, what's up?" or "Hi XxPkerxX, gimme back the rune long you borrowed" to everyone you meet or some such and it ends up with more and more people joining the group and almost no one gets pked at all.

Of course, I imagine we had different circles of friends, it wouldn't make sense otherwise. Still those circles would overlap somewhat. For some reason it seems to stick in my mind that Zar family 2 merchanted, he was always trying to buy my stuff but I barely sold anything at all. I am something of a packrat and even when we only had 1 bank page I had a lot of useless items. You know, silly noob things like burger king hats. :oops:

I would like Jagex to take some steps but nothing drastic, I don't want to stop doing things I like just because of autoers. I don't wanna suffer another "sleeping bag" update like we had in RS1 where every single player had to slow down their training and be annoyed by it just because of autoers.

Lightning is in it, too. :P Hmmm yes perhaps the names don't ring a bell anymore but if you had seen this list back then you would probably have known them. It's a very old list! Also, the more you look at it, the more names will become familiar, that is the way memory works I think. Let's not argue lol so you do know Uh btw I never said they had an impact in the game. \ Anyway the pic just shows how closely connected people were. Sometimes pk used to be a big pain when I pked with a partner because between the two of us, we literally knew 80% of all the pkers out there, especially on the London servers. We could barely attack anyone because they were all friends of one or both of us! That doesn't happen nowadays. :( My old friends mostly left RS for rl things.

It's not about knowing, its about having a relationship with them. Like, that person being on your permanent kq/dk/gwd team, your best friend, your training partner, gf/bf/, etc.

Are you at the edges or at the center of an RS web of relationship? Do all your friends know each other or are they connected through you? Allow me to illustrate what I mean by RS relationships using Kingleonardo's old image (first posted on Tip It, I believe): What does it represent? Simply put, it shows the links between famous/high level people in RS. The crazy thing is, back then we all knew each other even if it was second or third hand. In other words, we are all connected to each other in the circle of RS! :lol:

Actually I do feel that Jagex does ban a lot of autoers, the problem is that they just make new ones. :lol: I don't have any real solution to *that* problem, I mean how do you stop people from manking new accounts unless you remove the game altogether.

Not to mention that more than half of them are just kissing up to mods or Jagex. *cough* Wannabe mods/pmods. *cough* Or they are little kids who see Andrew as their daddy and their little minds hurt when they think people don't like their daddy. \
