  1. Number four had to have happened eventually XD My predictions: Jagex would keep throwing half-assed pvp minigames at us until we suffocated. I'm right so far, but I'm pretty sure that prediction will be broken if jagex doesn't mess up the pvp only worlds. Also had a few price predictions... predicted furies would keep on going past today. Turns out they got dumped yesterday, and I had to sell them all min price. Hey, I still made 2M profit out of 11 furies... but I could have made something like 7M. Eh that's what you get sometimes for investing.
  2. 30 day GE trend for Crushed Nests: 30 Day GE trend for Sara Brews: These two have been invested in by the CC to prevent people from going Bandos-ing - making the price rise even if they were to let Bandos items raise by their own. Bandos stuff is rising ATM because of them. The organization in acidy is so poor I really have to doubt they were the sole merchants who rised that price through the roof. Yes, acidy can be correct in what they say about the market, but to actually get 200 people to all agree on one thing and then do it just seems very unlikely. All of these sudden price drops, price rises in history have almost always had a valid explanation that didn't evolve mass manipulation. Perhaps the sudden dip in nests caused merchants to buy them out in hopes of them rising again - which they did. Merchants continued to buy at max. Just wait until tomorrow or perhaps the day after that, and you'll see the price peak, and it will come crashing down.
  3. What I don't get is why people don't simply join the manipulators instead of flaming them. Honestly, if I had a huge pile of cash (I probably only have 70M combined cash and items), I would be trying to manipulate left and right. You might as well rake in millions more a day while you have a lot of cash already.
  4. It has been tested and proven over and over that the scimmy is the better weapon. Speed is a huge variable in the equation; a weapon just being 1 speed better can easily beat the crap out of any tiny 1-3 stat bonuses.
  5. Post here next time. Here is the information. ;)
  6. they bought out dragon platelegs yesterday and today they rose 25k.... Yes, that is because the price reached a point where buyers found it so incredibly cheap they couldn't resist and bought it. All it takes is a few buyers to make the price the next day stay rise. And this rise causes merchants to panic; in an attempt to ride the price wave they try to buy some of the item so they can sell it later for a higher price.
  7. Clan wars on the other hand may be coming out in as little as 3 days. Maybe he got this mixed up with the pvp update.
  8. First rule of runescape. I thought they said late 2008?
  9. 99 skillcapes would be awesome... I would wear that around because it's just too cool despite the fact that it's runescape-related. Who in their right mind is going to wear that backpack.
  10. My GOD finally someone gets it right. I've been getting sick of these speculation threads, some of which included jagex manipulating the market and it having a large part to do with the upcoming pvp updates. Both of those are WRONG! It is the school kids people!
  11. Arg, this is annoying. This is the third thread on this subject. It's NOT a result of pkers, it's a result of all the schoolkids selling their members items before school starts because they are going f2p for the schoolyear. It happens every year and has little to do with the promised pvp worlds.
  12. I still believe it's solely the schoolkids doing this. Just look at combat-related items, ALL of them are going through the price wave. Is that just a coinsidence? I'm not bashing on anyone particular on this thread when I say this, but most 'price manipulations' have simply been a case of merchant panic. Ever wonder why the price of halloween masks rise near Halloween? It's because merchants expect them to, know one actually buys a halloween mask just for the fun of halloween. Merchants know that halloween masks go up near October every year, so they all start buying at once near that time, and the price goes up. That is the sole reason for the price rise. There is no 'manipulation' involved (but people do make millions ;) ).
  13. You are way off. What is going on right now is not price manipulation at all. All it is is kiddies selling all their combat gear and members items because they are going back to f2p for the schoolyear. It happens every year, starting about a week or two before summer ends for most, then ending two or three weeks after the schoolyear starts. The only time I have heard of mass price manipulation being sucessful is the half-jug of wines way back in the days. A group of merchants decided to buy all the wines they could, hold them until they reached 80M, then sell them back. Ever wondered why half wines are so expensive? That's why. I've never heard of any other time this has been sucessful (and by sucessful I mean making millions off it). Okay, here's how the waves have been happening: Kiddies sell their members gear to GE. Sudden supply causes prices to drop dramatically. Other people panic and start selling their gear low. The price eventually hits a point where buyers find it so cheap its irrestistable, and buy it. Price begins to rise, merchants panic and buy high. The buying high lets the price soar, and more merchants try to buy high. The price eventually hits a point where sellers find it a good profit and sell it.
  14. That makes me want to punch someone. I voted elves and Monkey madness.
  15. September fools! I'm really looking foward to the clan wars update. It's been seroiusly needing one the moment it came out, so many left out things. I still find world 17 fun, and I'm sure the update will make it more exciting. Oh, and is jagex ACTUALLY finishing up a quest storyline?! That's a first.
  16. You can loot, in a way. Killed enemy's value of all their loot adds up and is split evenly between all members of the victorious clan.
  17. Is there a quest storyline out there that has actually been completed? I'm just curious if anyone knows. Jagex has been teasing more than they can finish for years now. Like Mornings end... WHEN WILL IT END! It has been years now, I really wish they would finish this storyline up.
  18. Everyone knows about this, it's old news. Prices have been dropping for weeks now, I don't think we need another person to tell us that.
  19. How can you say that the average age or maturity shouldn't change? Back in the RSC days the community was far more mature (thought not completely) than today. Although there is no hard facts and research to prove it, I do believe miniclip had a good impact on the maturity/age level of runescape. Let's face it - most kids in their teen years don't bother with those minigame sites like miniclip anymore. Some may still find it fun, but most just go for their consoles or play in a MMO. I would say the majority of users of miniclip are below the age of 14. And considering what Andrew stated many years back, before runescape was advertised on miniclip, that a good handful of runescape users are either teens or adults, I think it is safe to assume that mixing some -14 year olds with the aduldish audience would have an effect on the average age. Ouchy_S - 1000 more kids eh? Just look at the number of plays on addicting games. It's already 13,000 and growing, and it's the first day of release. At that rate that's 5M more views of runescape a year.
  20. It's dissapointing, even for a guide under construction. You could have at least made the first version bigger. All I see are a few paragraphs filled with information that is easily found on tip.it's own runecrafting guide. If you are going to explain runecrafting by level intervals, then please, do not hesitate to steal information from the other two million guides that include explaining runecrafting by level intervals. If you intend to keep your guide in this style, I do hope your 'extras' will be stuffed full of information that we do not find obvoius already. Not to dwindle too much on the critism, there are things you can do to improve the guide. Remove the level interval style of your guide. l can think of two guides off my head that use the same style, and there are probably more than that. Try focusing on different methods of runecrafting, just to throw out an example. You could list different ways to enter the law and nature altars (currently the two most population altars), compare them with calculations, chuck a bunch of variables in, and get final figures such as exp per hour and gp per hour. Ways to enter I can think off the top of my head: -Fairy rings -Hot air balloons -Graahks (or whatever they are called) -The abyss -Regular running And a few methods: -General store noted -> unnoted method -Terrorbirds
  21. Anyone else find it sad how some idiot decided to attack a runescape fan site? I mean, even if this person did have something against tip.it, it really it quite childish and stupid to attack the site.
  22. The only thing on that page that jumped out at me was the fact that more runescape users play PS2 than xbox 360. I mean, the PS2 is still good and all, but they've completely stopped making games for it now. Consoles such as the PS3 and xbox 360 would be much more acceptable now. Seriously, you can get a 360 elite pack for no more than $350 on some sites. I bought mine with GTA4 for $325. Hey, maybe people just like their ps2s and gamecubes too much. Perhaps the latest graphics and such don't appeal to them. But I was pretty sure the runescape majority was made up of young kids and teens. No offence to anyone who answered soley PS2 or gamecube, this is just my view. Sony PlayStation 2 44% (40447 votes) Microsoft Xbox 360 32% (29702 votes) Nintendo Wii 32% (29674 votes) Nintendo GameCube 21% (19744 votes) Sony PlayStation 3 17% (15930 votes) I do not use any games consoles 17% (15843 votes)
  23. Ack alright I believe you now. Darn you got me all excited! I mean, what are the chances I find someone from a completely different game (and also in my alliance in that game) on tip.it forums who also happens to know one of my friends in runescape as well (Theoknight)? I guess slim. On topic: Sorry about getting so off topic... now what were we talking about?
