  1. Wow, someone finally brought Silv out of his hiding! Well, this is as good as ever.
  2. Oh no, Light, you got it wrong. We (and especially me) would never be disappointed at you. Life happens, [cabbage] happens, like what I told Silv a long time ago, Don't worry about us, just take care of yourself first (paraphrased). It's just a shock, especially for me, that you're leaving. You always been the one constant that I expect from runescape, from tipit, so you leaving is hardly something that I would imagine (I always thought you would only leave the same way that oldnite did). I do hope that you can let us know that what made you want to leave us. From your replies, it seems like it's us tifers. If it is, I think that we deserve a second chance -- let us know who and what we did and WE WILL DO ALL WE CAN TO FIX IT. After all these years, we deserve an explanation.
  3. Madness? [wait for it] THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAA *kicks lacsapix into a giant, conveniently placed well.
  4. Thanks Fudgy for hosting Spoils #3 and Slayer for his last leadership in Rune-Quests! Rune-Quests will regroup for the next few days!
  5. according to the list circulating around copy here Ashley is #12 in the joining list, if anyone need further prove of her ancestry.
  6. Glad RS is moving up in the world. JaGeX and the Gower brothers deserve it all. However, I'll like to point out that "Western Market" does not equal to "The World."ÃÆãâââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃÆãâââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃÆïÃâüÃâÃÂ¥ÃÆïÃâýÃâÃ
  7. Don't think we're dead! Next spoils date is set for Truly Epic LULZ!
  8. Sex with the underaged is automatically statutory rape under the law, regardless of whether it's under mutual consent (or even parental consent, for that matter). The argument here is kids in the developing age are easily manipulated and persuaded, so their "consent" cannot be assumed to be of good judgment. (There's other issues here beyond the legal one, but my mind's cloudy atm so I'll add later on)
  9. reread the news report guys. It does not sound like rape at all. The girl flew over to where the kid is located and spend two week with him and his mother. Does that sound like rape to you? I am just guessing here, but it seems like it's a relationship (aby a sick one) that's been ongoing with the mother's consent. My best guess is that the kid brag to his friends "I hit a 22yr old lol" and it was overheard by the some more traditionally minded adult.
  10. just because there's no written rules doesn't mean it's legal in the eye of JaGeX. Of course, if you make it for yourself and do not distribute it, it's rather difficult for jagex to track, ie the old saying "it's legal till you're caught"
  11. one commonly used indicator of website popularity on the web is alexa ranking, why not try that first?
  12. i saw that list somewhere, I think it's in the internet archive either under runescape or tip.it. I'll edit when I dig it up
  13. Blaze, wonderful writing on your 1st post! Very good summary of the discussion and the different viewpoitns currently available. However, I will recommend you to make yourself an example for the rest of us by refrain from personal attacks as well (your second post).
  14. estarayella, First off, I am very respectful of you willing to present such painful memories to share with us -- I can't imagine how terrible it must be -- so we may have some background to draw conclusions from. However, to be fair to malo2, I can't agree with your statement: There's a reason why rape is a capital punishment in RL while scamming is rarely a temp-ban in RS. If someone lost from rs gp, they can easily get it all back, but the emotional trama from rape would never truly be resolved (as you can testify). The lost for the victim is significantly greater, that's why rape is such a hated crime. We should avoid such simple comparisons -- not only are them misguiding, but they're also dangerous in that the very same comparison might simplify such evil things as rape to be only as bad as scamming. * *Of course, i have also done so in my own letters, and I'll like to apologize here.
  15. What are the unbalancing you're referring to? or Is it really such a terrible thing to have the low level miners earning more gold for their labor? Mining have always been considered a low profit skill, is it that bad for lower levels to earn a bit more gp now than before? Is it really bad policy for JaGeX to improve the livinghood of the poorer low levels? In Real Life, any government who only watch out for the rich (and not the poor) would definitely face public outrage and unrest, but I yet to heard any protests about macro-policies that helps the poor (see medicare, medical, social security). Most mining raw material "shot up," but when you look at the Topic's data the inflation is only 10-30% (and most people agree that the price will eventually settle down). That is hardly consider hyperinflation in comparison to some real-life countries (like Zimbabwe, which faced inflation rate 4530% currently http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperinfla ... _the_world). Until RuneScape can match such a rate, I have my doubt that JaGeX is destroying our economy. From my experience in this forum, I have noticed that people tend to underestimate how strong the RuneScape economy is (In retrospect, I realized that I also done so in the past). Three years ago, a rune set sells for 250k, and last month it's 200k. If anything, our prices are more stable than most of the world's countries -- We might even consider our economy more robust, considering how most commodies price decline, meaning our personal purchasing power INCREASE overtime --- Hardly something to complain about.
  16. I feel quite honored to see a well-written criticism to my plea and feel respect to the author for able to explain his point-of-view without resort to personal attacks. As a previous post mentioned, it seems like both side have strong arguments for them, and it's rather futile to try to convince each other of which opinion is superior. That's not to say the arguments are wasted writing -- It's the undecided readers that him and I were trying to reach.
  17. Those games did not survive the MMO wars as RuneScape did -- consider us lucky.
  18. I disagree with: merge general and general p2p recombine help & advice Merging the General Forums: Looking at the two forums, we can clearly see a significant difference in theme between the threads in General and General P2P. Whereas General P2P deals most often with recent update and changes, General usually harbor older, more general-interest threads such as Tipit Time, community discussions, and quest-answer threads. I believe this setup have been successful because it allowed two categories of topics to thrive: one that dealt with upcoming, current events that gather momentum fast but lose it as soon as the next update come along (aka implings); and the other slower, but more ongoing discussions that can survive and thrive for months or years (any hot topic threads). If we were to combine these two forums, something have to give -- we'll probably lose many of the interesting, ongoing topics that reside in General. If clarifying the forums' purpose is the goal, why not simply clarify the forum descriptions? If that's not enough, why not change General P2P to Update discussion? Help & Advice: [i'll finish this one later]
  19. welcome back RAHK! Glad to see an old face around, don't forget to drop by #runescape! (remember me?)
