Strangely enough, there's no definite time jagex update the GE. I have saw them update anytime from 10am to 1pm GMT, but they do update daily.

It's less sinister than you think http://news.runescape.com/newsitem.ws?id=1022 The issue at hand is, GE is not designed to auto-adjust prices for items that have low trade volume. Rares are especially affected by this, so prices does not adjust despite market trends. Thus JaGeX are forced to step in and adjust the prices manually (as a short fix) until they can improve GE to reflect the market pricing better. I can't quite explain why (my best guess is the christmas and last-chance gifting) HERBS: Herbs that results in high usage pots (such as ppot and supersets) appear to be rising steadily since in the later half of the month. Another explanation may be that they actually dropped in price the weeks before the GE (as a result of the change that was made to dueling) and that they only regained what was lost. Perhaps chaos, oak, mahagony and/or teak too. Some herbs in it would be necessary too. I'm not too well informed what the key (leveling) materials are, but I'd guess guam, harralander, tarromin, avantoe and/or irit. Best to choose 2 or 3 herbs (probably the first three), to have the exposure to each market similiarly. The index should give each material the same weight. Would you be doing a similar index? If so, I will let you have the pleasure of making a working index for RuneScape. That sounds like a great idea, having each person track a specific data set. So far it looks like Sledge is tracking rares, I am following each NPC, and qeltar is following market indicators. How's that division sound? Finally, comments and suggestion on the "mover and shaker" section? I am also looking into having a simple table listed next to the charts, for referencing, but having trouble.

As you see, when I put in Sledge's data, excel won't connect the items with missing points. We don't have many of the ones you listed tracked, so using them would mean we have to start from scratch. Is it possible to just hand pick the items we have already available for the index?

I believe there's several others who's tracking rares atm. Hopefully, they'll also share their data with us.

Why speculate when the data's already there: It does appear that high level armours received a nice rise earlier, but it definitely stopped and in fact is dipping. The best reasons I found thus far is by Duke_Freedom

TruthScape 2007 Report Card - Grade: A- Ah, one article from TruthScape that I completely ate through. There's certain grades I disagree with, but your opinions are well written and explained, so I see no problem with them. It takes me only 5min everyday to write down the data, so it's not too much trouble. I know JaGeX is releasing the charts, but who knows when will they come out (Waited four years for POH :/). I am toying with index charts atm, but so far, nothing I like. Perhaps someone who's more experienced at chart making can use my data and polish it to more useful forms? The obvious trends I noticed: OVERALL: There was a market depresssion across the board between 12/7 - 12/16th. The most obvious cause is the swiping RWT changes announced at 12/10th, therefore there are some truth to the market crash rumours. However, the prices seems to be returning to normal after that time. ARMOUR: High level armour seem to be rising while mid range armour remain steady or lowering. I can't quite explain why (my best guess is the christmas and last-chance gifting) HERBS: Herbs that results in high usage pots (such as ppot and supersets) appear to be rising steadily since in the later half of the month. Otherwise, items that used to be macroed heavily have been rising (logs and ess), although the rise are less than I expected. PS the index graph i'm working on:

This item is only useful in special circumstances. 1)It's a great way to boast your prayer above limit (especially since prayer does not slowly decrease back to normal). 2)I find it very useful in the minigame Temple Trekking because it takes allot of time and does not give you easy access to altars. After rare occassions when I need to pray (such as the Giant Snails), I would use my special bars to slowly refill my prayer back up.
