8k Fire Strikes or 22k Wind Strikes?
22,000 Wind strikes will earn you about 165k magic exp 8,000 Fire strike will earn you about 156k magic exp and cost about 232k gp but 5,380 Curses will earn you 156k magic exp and cost about 156k gp You could RC all of the runes yourself (cheapest) or, use 35 full loads of coal to pay for the whole thing. Hope this helps

Runescape, black as its painted?
Well, "better" depends on what a player finds enjoyable about the game. A player that loves Pking would love RS (and other games) A player that loves to work closely with a group of other players might not like RS. Well, yeah, sorta.. RS has "weekly" smallish updates that are free for members. The updates for EQ, WoW, and GW are (about) $20 to $40, huge, and occur, maybe, twice a year or longer. So, if the update were big enough, it might keep you busy for many months if you decided to cough up the money for it. IIRC, EQ has had about 13 major updates so far. True But then EQ, WoW, and GW have many other things to do besides quests also. IMHO, it comes down to -- Do you want to PK? -- Do want to work closely with a group of 6 friends. -- Do you want to play solo? -- Do want difficult and challenging encounters with fantastic loot? RS, EQ, WoW, and GW all differ in the above (more or less) Hope this helps

99 Smithing
Under what conditions? If you bought 342,510 steel bars and smithed them into 68502 steel plates, (99 smithing) then you could Hi-alch them for over 82 million gp and 4,452,630 million in magic exp. (reaching 89.84 magic) If you spent 43 million gp buying 71,665 steel bars, then you could make 14,333 steel plates. That would Hi-alch for 17.2 million gp and 931,645 in magic exp. That would raise your magic exp to 1,744,405. That's a gain of 7.72 levels to level 78.7 magic Hope this helps

True, after you have spent about 200 million gp getting 99...

99 Smithing
To get the exp that you need, you need: -- to smelt 228,338 gold ores with the goldsmithing gauntlets, or -- to smelt and smith 233,528 steel "ores", or -- to smith 342,507 steel bars, or -- to smelt 570,844 gold ore For a F2P player, steel bars are probably the best way to go. But at 600 gp (or more) per bar it's gonna cost you at least 205 million. So, your 43 million is not gonna do it. If you already had 68,502 nature runes then your cost would be "only" 123 million. Another possibility is to get 85 mining and then use the runite ore to pay for steel bars. Each ore would buy about 20 bars, (750 smithing exp) My final comment is, "Why?" 99 smithing takes a lot of time, effort, and money just to be able to make the 3rd best armor in the game. There are over 545 players that can make full rune gear so prices are barely above their hi alch values. If you want to make money then I suggest mining. You only need to get to 85 and the raw ore sells for a litttle less than the bar itself. Hope this helps

Closest furnace to bank? (F2P)
F2P, Al Kharid. If you use the northern most bank teller window then, (as long as the furnace room door is open) you can 1 click to go from the bank to the furnace. Then for the return trip, if you rotate your mini-map the right way, you can 1 click return to the bank. Later, smith using the anvils just south of the west Varrock bank. Hope this helps

Runescape, black as its painted?
I think you need to read what I wrote again. Here it is again with a couple of blank lines thrown in... It's clear that my statement of working together applies to EQ and my statement of competing/PKing applies to Rs. Understand now?
-
Runescape, black as its painted?
you obviously havent met the wilderness... seeing a guy bow down before your might... You seem to be agreeing with me so what is the point of your post?

Runescape, black as its painted?
You could always try Everquest for free. It's a much more challenging and dangerous game than RS. The world is enourmous and there's always something that you haven't done yet. Players, mostly, work together to advance instead of competing/PKing each other as in RS. Yeah. IMHO, there's to much leveling grinding for to little purpose in RS. Some people play for the satisfaction of getting high levels, some for socializing, some for PKing, and some for exploring a virtual world. So, you really have to ask yourself "What do/did I enjoy about playing?" We really can't answer that for you. If you can answer that then you may be able to decide what to do. Hope this (somehow) helps

failed curses...
Failed cursing is a very cost effective way to raise F2P magic. You will always get 29 exp per cast. Fire Strike averages only about 18 per cast. Chaos based spells give more exp but they are much more expensive to cast. Curse costs about 1 gp per 1 magic exp earned. Chaos based spells cost about 3 gp per 1 magic exp earned. Plus all of the runes for Curse can be made in the F2P world, so it could cost you nothing but time if you wanted. To always fail wear full helm, chest plate, legs, SoS, boots, kite shield, green vambraces, and a water or earth staff. Any metal (Bronze to Rune) will work equally well. You want your magic attack stat to be -65 or worse to be able to always fail. IMHO, the best place to cast is in a multi-combat zone so that you will (almost) always have a target. Casting from the key room in the Varrock sewers across the water at the 4 zombies in the ladder room works very well. Hope this helps.

Worst mage clothes
I assume that you want to do Failed Cursing. In that case, a magic atack stat of -68 is more than enough to always fail. You can get that by wearing full helm, chest plate, legs, SoS boots, kite shield, dragonhide vambraces, and a water or earth staff. Any metal will do. Bronze works as well as Rune. Good places to cast include multicombat zones like the Varrock sewers or White knight castle. Hope this helps

Magic (F2P)
Congrats! Btw, if you were doing it right, you would fail every cast and would be able to cast almost non-stop. That depends if you want to pick up the bones and/or loot. A popular spot to Curse and/or cast Crumble Undead is to use the spot that Gin_and_Tonic mentioned. Namely, cast from the key room in the Varrock sewers. Another spot is to cast in the screen/torture room in the white knight castle in Fally. The white knights are not aggressive and you can cast through the screen at them. The drops are bones and iron junk mostly. Well, Curse always gives 29 magic exp per cast. Crumble Undead averages about 39 magic exp per cast. Curse costs about 30 gp per cast or less. Crumble costs about 105 gp per cast. So to earn 1131 in magic exp would cost you 1170 gp with Curse but it would cost you 3045 with Crumble Undead. That's about 2.6 times as expensive for the same exp. So, Crumble is faster, but it's rather expensive to use. Also, F2P can make all of the runes for Curse but the runes for Crumble will require money (or a lot of time). Finally, make sure to get your magic attack stat to -68 or so to be able to always fail when casting. Hope this helps

*_* MAGIC -- READ *_*
No Well, it's more than failed Cursing. With chaos gauntlets and the auto-cast slayer staff, it might be worth it. 'Course, you know to Hi-alch in note form. Hope this (somehow) helps

"fail curse"
There are lots of places that will work well. IMHO, the best place is a multi-combat zone. That way, you will (almost) always have a target. Some multi zones that you could use include: the Varrock sewers, the White Knight castle, and the top of the wizzy tower. My fav spot is to cast from is the key room in the Varrock sewers at the 4 zombies in the ladder room. It's perfectly safe, no monsters can reach you, and you have up to 4 targets that you can hit. You could also try the Port sarim jail, caged Varrock palace monk, and river ducks. Finally, you should get your magic attack stat to about -68 or so to be able to always fail the cast. You can do that wearing full helm, chest plate, legs, SoS boots, kite shield, green dragonhide vambraces, and a water/earth staff. Any metal will work equally well. Full Bronze works as well as full Rune. Hope this helps

Where is the fastest place to train str?? (F2p)
The fastest training in F2P is to slaughter constantly respawning lower level monsters. You earn exp according to Exp = HitDone*4 so a low level monster can work well for fast training. A good place for the above is probably the first or second level of the SoS. Wear a Def amulet and get several 4 dose Str potions (5 gp each) to speed things along. Hope this helps

What's the best way to train ranged?
It depends if you are P2P or F2P. But, for F2P, a shortbow on rapid worked well for me. There's not a lot of difference in max hit for Bronze and Iron arrows. Look here to see Tip Its range damage table. If you pick up your arrows, then you can use each one about 4 times before it breaks. That can save you a lot of money. An easy way to pick up your arrows is to cast a Curse spell on the monster first. That will make it walk over to you and stand just outside your safe spot as you kill it. Then, all of your recoverable arrows will be in the loot pile when it dies. You could try killing the minotaurs in the SoS, they drop a lot of arrows. I got to 80 by using Bronze arrows against the 2 lessers on the top of Crandor Island. Hope this helps.

Power-mining Questions
That's exactly what I did to get to 85. You should be able to 1 hit Iron now so the mining, turning, and dropping takes about the same time as the respawn time. Thus, you can be very efficient. As far as being crowded, most of the people that would normally mine there seemed happy to be able to pick up my ore. But, if it got crowded then I world hopped. Hope this helps

Best F2P yewing spot
Well, your kinda asking for the impossible. Any spot that you like that has trees and is close to a bank, will also be popular with the macroers. They want the same things that you do. Better to be aware of the locations of the 23 Yew trees in the F2P world. They are located: 4 NW of Rimmington 3 S of Fally 1 N of Port Sarim 4 between Draynor Village and Lumbridge 1 in the Lumbridge graveyard 1 south of Varrock 3 around the Earth altar 1 next to the NE Varrock church 3 behind the Varrock palace 2 SW of the Edgeville bank You could go and check some of these trees on different worlds until you find a spot/world that you like. The Edgeville spot is probably the most popular. Hope this helps

85 smithing - viable?
Well, I think that successfull runite ore mining is more dependant on scouts, timing, and strategy to avoid the PKers than it is on combat level. A high combat level will help, but it is possible at lower levels. My biggest problem is finding full rune rocks. With over 15300 players able to mine runite ore, those 2 F2P rune rocks are often empty...
-
85 smithing - viable?
Well, back in the early days of RS, smithing was very, very good. Now, Rune gear is the third best in the game, prices have dropped, and there are about 550 players that (with a DS) can make full rune gear. It's gonna be very, very expensive or slow to get. I think that the most straightforward way to make cash based on runite ore is to just mine it and sell the raw ore. Raising smithing takes a lot of cash or a huge amount of time. Raising mining takes "reasonable" time with no walking and no expenses. I have 85 mining but only 77 smithing (45% of the way to 85) It will take me 32292 smelted steel bars to get 85 smithing. (or 47361 bought bars and $26 million cash) But why? I can already get good cash from the runite ore that I sell. So, IMHO, if you want cash, get 85 mining. Hope this helps

Medicore F2P Magic-Failed cursing.
Failed Cursing is casting a Curse spell on a monster and wearing gear so that the Curses fails to work. Even though it failed, you will still get the full 29 magic exp for the cast. If the Curse worked, then you would get 29 magic exp and have to move on to another monster. That would make training slower. So, for "fast" training, players dress in any full metal armor, (Bronze works as well as Rune), to get their magic attack stat as low as possible. You can get to about -68 if you wear: full helm, chest plate, legs, SoS boots, kite shield, green vambraces, and a water/earth/mud staff. Do not wear any amulet or jewelry to boost your magic attack. You want it as low as possible. Now go and find some easy, safe monster to cast on. Almost any will work. I prefer to use monsters in a multicombat zone so that I will (almost) always have a target. I like to cast from the key room in the Varrock sewers across the water into the 4 zombie ladder room. The zombies can't reach you there. You could also try the caged red monk under the Varrock palace stairs, Port Sarim jail prisoners, scorpions from the rim of the Al-Kharid mine, white knights in their screen/torture castle room, the caged lesser demon in the top of the wizzy tower, and river ducks. Lots of monsters will work. Curse can't be auto-cast and it gives no HP exp. But it is a very cost effective way to raise magic. It gives more exp than all the Strike spells (Mind runes) and all of the runes can be made in the F2P world. Hope this helps

Medicore F2P Magic-Failed cursing.
True Well, IMHO, that's a small price to pay for 1.5 times the exp...
-
Medicore F2P Magic-Failed cursing.
Curse is just as cheap and it takes only 2 Curses to give the same exp as 3 average Fire Strikes...
