  1. No. 55000 Addy arrows (with pick up) will get you only to 94 If you pick up 75% of your shot arrows then you can get 4x use out of them. So, assuming that you pick up your arrows, reach 99 from 78 you need: Bronze: 126700 Iron: 125600 Steel: 112600 Mith: 106300 Addy: 95800 I suggest that you sell the Addy and buy (more) cheap arrows. Or, if you hunt minotaurs in the SoS, then you don't have to buy as many arrows since they drop a lot. You can just use whatever comes your way. (BTW, you can reach only combat level 110 as a Ranger) Hope this helps
  2. You can read about it here. Hope this helps
  3. If you pick up 75% of your shot arrows then you will need about 31450 iron arrows to reach 90. If you don't pick them up then you can only reach about level 84.5. You would need about 125800 to reach 90 in that case. Hope this helps
  4. You could try the places listed in Tip It's range training guide. I always liked killing the 2 lesser demons on the top of Crandor island. It meets all of your desired qualities and can give good loot as well. They give 328 exp per kill. The last 1 million range exp I earned with those 2 guys. There are safe spots in the North and E-SE section of their walk area. I normally use the S-SE safe spot and cast a Curse on them first. That causes them to walk over near me and stand just outside my safe spot. I then begin to range them. It normally takes about 22 bronze arrows to kill one. All of my recoverable arrows are in the loot pile. I normally never even bothered to bring food since I never got hit. But you should bring runes for hi-alching mith and rune med drops. If you want a change of pace then you could also do the 3 Moss giants that are down around the corner. Hope this helps
  5. A few things to think about... 1) If you hunt monsters that drop a lot of arrows (SoS minotars) then you just use what comes your way. 2) If you pick up your arrows then you can get about 4x use out of them. That makes a big difference overall. To get all of your arrows in the loot pile, cast a Curse on the monster first and then wait for it to walk over to your safe spot before starting to shoot. 3) The max damage by arrow type and Range level is about Bronze = (Range+14)/9 Iron = (Range+15)/9 Steel = (Range+14)/8 Mith = (Range+13.5)/7.5 Addy = (Range+16)/7 Rune = (Range+18)/6 4) Shooting style Accurate increase max hit by 1 but is slower. 5) Shooting style Long Range gives Defense exp. 6) You earn Range exp according to HitDone*4 when using arrows. (Cannon gives exp according to HitDone*2) 7) The number of arrows you need, (if you pick up 75% of them), to reach the next level is about ArrowsNeeded = ExpNeeded/(8*maxhit) Hope this helps
  6. Use the Tip It smithing market forum to find buyers. That sounds like a "reasonable price" to me. Rune armor is the third best in the game now so many (member) players seek to get the better stuff... Hope this helps
  7. Well, if you want money then definately pick up the bones. The respawn time is longer than it takes to get the bones. Especially if you use the Curse pulling trick. In F2P, big bones are located: HG in Edgeville dungeon, HG in wildy, MG in Varrock sewer, MG in wildy, MG on Crandor Island, IG in blurite mine, IG in NW wildy, and central east wildy respawn. The biggest limiting factor is probably going to be overhunting by other players. So, you may have to look around a lot to find the best place at the best time. Keep in mind that any "best place" for you is going to be the "best place" for everyone else also. Hence, everyone will go to that "best place" and (probably) make it "not the best place" anymore, lol Bottom line, try the above spots. Especially the wildy BB respawn place. An alternative to making money with BBs is to get your mining to 70 and mine/sell addy ore at 1k/each. Otherwise, if you just want to raise Ranging, then hunt minotaurs in the SoS. Hope this helps
  8. First of all, you really should be using Crumble Undead instead of Fire Bolt. You will earn about 25000 more magic exp over FB. For Crumble Undead, a 100% safe spot is the key room in the Varrock sewers. You can shoot across the water at the 4 zombies that spawn there. It's a multi combat zone so you will (almost) always have a target. Second, for F2P, With FB, you can try the Port Sarim jail, the screen room on the second floor of the white knight castle, the caged lesser at the top of the wizzy tower, the caged red monk under the Varrock palace stairs, scorpions from above the rim of the Al-kharid mine, hobgoblins from the crafting cow pen, etc. There are lots of places that will work. Finally, obviously, the higher the level of the monster, the less waste you will have when using FB. So, if you insist on the less efficient FB (over CU) then do lesser's or white knights. Hope this helps
  9. In F2P, you need -- 5 gp for the Varrock apothecary. He is located south and then east from the west bank. Or use the official Jagex world map to flash the location for you He will make a 4 dose str potion for you. -- limpwort root. A common drop form hobgoblins. Look west of the crafting guild. -- red spider eggs. They spawn at the end of the Varrock sewers and under the Karamja volcano. If you are very low level then just suicide grab them. Hope this helps
  10. Well, the fastest training comes when you are killing non-stop without having to stop for food, bank runs, or wait for monster repsawns. So, are you able to do that? If not, then try the second level of the SoS. You have rooms crowded with "weak" fast respawning monsters that you can slaughter non-stop for hours. "Weak" means that you can kill them quickly and you (probably) won't need food to heal with. Fast respawn means that there's always another one ready to kill. IIRC, the fleshcrawlers are even aggressive. Hope this helps
  11. Use the fence. Look here for more info... 10 million gp? I'm not sure I understand why you think that stopping to pick up arrows when shooting Hill Giants will give you less exp. The respawn time for Hill Giants is long enough for you to be able to get your arrows, loot, and bones before the next one spawns. If you pull the Giant over to you with a Curse spell first, then all of the "goodies" will be in a single pile when it dies. You did know about the Curse pulling trick, didn't you? Actually, you will probably have trouble getting enough Hill giants at all dur to over crowded hunting conditions. Now, if you hunt guards or hobgoblins, then, yes, you would be slowed down a little to gather arrows, loot, and bones. But for me, the 4x arrow reuse factor would save me a lot of money. Consider this: 28000 Iron arrows will get you from level 27 to level 64 if you do not pick up. But, it will get you from level 27 to level 80 if you do pick up. That's basically 16 cost free levels if you use the Curse pulling trick and pick up your arrows. Hope this helps
  12. Bronze: about 113600 if you don't pick up, 28400 if you do pick up. Iron: about 112000 if you don't pick up, 28000 if you do pick up. (What exp, Range or Prayer?) Well, there are other ways of earning money (mining, smithing, yew cutting) but there's only 1 best way to raise F2P prayer... IMHO, gather the bones and use them on yourself, Protection is very nice to have. Train what? Range or Prayer? Hill giants can be very crowded so training there could be a problem. Moss giants are popular but, ultimately, they can be overcrowded as well. There are many places to train range. The trick is to stand outside their walk area so they can't reach you. Or, have an obstacle between you and them (table, chair, fence, screen, wall, etc) I always liked ranging on Crandor island. The Mossies and Lessers are nice targets. But at your level, you could try the Minotaurs in the SoS. They drop a lot of arrows so you don't have to buy as many. Also, pick up your arrows. You will get about 4 times as many shots out of them that way. Hope this helps
  13. A summary: When you cast a Body rune based spell (weaken, confuse, or Curse) you will get the full magic exp even if you (spalsh) fail. If you fail, then you can recast on the same monster. (If the spell "hits" then you can't recast on it) So, for leveling, you dress in the worst magic attack gear possible. For F2P you can reach about -68 with full helm, plate, legs, kite shield, staff, green vambraces, and SoS boots. You then go to a place like the key room in the Varrock sewers and cast across the water at the 4 zombies. Or try the caged red monk under the Varrock palace stairs, or the Port Sarim jail, or the caged lesser in the wizzy tower, or the screen room in the white knight castle in Fally. Curse always gives you 29 mage exp with every cast so don't bother with weaken or confuse. Fire Strike averages only about 18 per cast. Curse costs about 1 gp for every 1 magic exp earned. That's a very good return for your money. Or, you can just make the F2P runes yourself. Curse can't be auto-cast so you do have to click a lot. Also, you get no HP exp or drops. Hope this helps
  14. Well, you get exp according to the hit that you make on the monster and not (directly) on the monster's level. So, for fast training, you want to be hitting constantly. That suggests that you fight monsters much lower than yourself. A good place for that is the first and/or second levels of the SoS. Another benefit to fighting lower level monsters is that you will need far less food and the fights will go more quickly. You will be a more effective fighter whenever Attack and/or Strength is raised. You will last longer and need less food whenever Defense is raised. I tend to raise Atk first while using a ruby ammy and strength pots. Then I raise Str. Finally, Def. Then I repeat the whole process. But that's just my preference. Finally, as you level up, you need about 10% more exp to make the next level. So, you will gain total levels more quickly if you level in an even manner instead of a +5 difference (or whatever) Hope this helps
  15. Kinda OT, but, Why do you care? Play the game in a way that makes you happy, not "them"
  16. Yes In the North-west corner is a spawn spot with 3 cosmics in the pile. The respawn time is about 8 minutes. So you can grab the spawn and then world hop grabbing new spawns before starting over about 8 minutes later. There is also the chaos rune spawn in the central wildy (guarded by Mossies) and also the Natures rune spawns the the North-East (on the island guarded by Lessers) Hope this helps
  17. Yeah, steel works well. For F2P, smelt ores in Al-kharid and then, when you have 75 bars, head to the anvil just south of the west Varrock bank and make your 15 steel plates. They will hi-alch for 18000 gp Steel is popular because the ores are readily available and you get decent exp per ore used. Hope this helps
  18. You could try the Big Bone respawns in the wildy graveyard. Central east side. IIRC, has about 3 or 4 that respawn along with regular bones. It is in the multi-player PK area though. Jagex does like to encourage playing ganking... Hope this helps
  19. A lot of players don't know that you can make the official Jagex world map of Runescape flash these sorts of things. From the Runescape home page you click on the World Map link. Then click Overview, 37%, Key, Next Page, and then, finally, Spinning Wheels to flash the locations. In F2P, 4 locations flash for spinning wheels. (Lumbridge, Barbarian village, south Fally, and crafting guild) It usually doesn't flash underground locations, but the above ground locations are shown. Hope this helps
  20. It depends on how you define "best" If "best" means "best drops" then Lessers and/or Moss Giants are good. If "best" means "fast exp" then the second level of the SoS would work very well. If "best" means "least food required" then the first/second level of the SoS would work well. If "best" means "afk style training" then the flesh crawlers in the SoS work well. If "best" means "closest to a bank" then Edgeville or Varrock city guards would work well. So, tell us what you mean and maybe we can give you better advice. Hope this helps
  21. There are plenty of great places to Curse in F2P. The trick is to always fail so you can keep on using the same monster over and over and over again. The Varrock sewers is nice because it's multi-combat so you can always find a target to hit. Casting from the key room across the water into the 4 zombie ladder room works very well. Other places include the caged lesser at the top of the wizzy tower, the red monk under the Varrock palace stairs, the Port Sarim jail, and the screen room in the Fally White Knight castle. (Mostly) true. Curse can't be auto-cast. But for those players on a budget, Curse gives a great return for the money spent. Hope this helps
  22. Yes. And DEF and HP are 1 every 4 levels.
  23. It takes only 2 Curses spells to give the same exp as 3 Fire Strikes...
  24. You will need about 5400 mith arrows if you pick them up, about 21600 if you don't. Hope this helps
  25. Ok, you need about 1,143,000 in exp to reach your goal. Do you consider Curse to be a combat spell? It does not give any damage or earn you HP exp. Well, that depends on several things: -- are P2P of F2P? -- what is your runecrafting level? -- do you have over 20,000 things that are worth hi-alching? It depends on what you mean by "better" Do you mean fastest?, or cheapest?, or uses fewest other items?, or uses only runes you rune craft?, etc Here are a few things to consider: -- teleporting gives good exp and does not require other things. But Law runes can be expensive and/or slow to get. Camelot teleport is popular. -- Hi-alching is more cost effective than tele, but, you need thousands of things that are worth hi-alching. Hi-alching steel plate is popular. -- Failed Cursing costs about 1 gp for every 1 magic exp earned. That's a very good cost ratio for leveling. Failed cursing (-68 magic attack) in the Varrock sewers is popular. Hope this helps
